Hi, I had a sinus/cold thing for 3 months, I still have it as a matter of fact. I did take antibiotics, but it is lingering. Do you have allergies? I know that I cough from post-nasal drip, which is really annoying. A sore throat in the morning and evening could be from this drip. That's when mine seems worse.
I really don't know what to do either. Sometimes it helps to take an antihistamine, although they do dry you out.
In the beginning I was very very fatigue with it, was in bed for almost 3 weeks. I had texted with my physician and after being sick for 11 days, he had put me on mild Antibiotics Azithromycin 250mg for 5 days (first day 500mg) saying I probably have walking pneumonia. I had Mycoplasma walking pneumonia 2x before in 2009 already. It slowly improved after taking it and I'm better, but still not healthy and feel it is getting worse again.
I have had a bad since cold for like 3 weeks now I'm about 8 weeks pregnant and I've tried ever tylenol product and nothing helps with the cough can anymore recommended anything else.
(Even with the flu). 3 weeks ago, I had a minor head cold resulting in substantial drainage. There was some mild nausea and after the drainage peaked, I did vomit and felt relieved. For about a week, I was as happy as could be - no more cold, no nausea, nothing!
Then, about a week ago, the same nausea hit me like a train before my first class one morning. The feeling was so uncomfortable that I had to skip class and go home. I was flushed, sweating profusely and just felt very uneasy.
I'm looking for ideas. I got sick with classic head cold symptoms on August 1st. It was a nasty cold with a fever 99-101.5. The cold symptoms faded over time but I have been stuck with the fever, crushing fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Tests have been completely normal: CBC, CBC with manual differential, complete metabolic panel, mono test, sed rate. I took a course of azithromycin and got worse while taking it. My doctors are clueless.
I'm 35 weeks with a cold and sore throat , what could I do to treat this ?
After 5 months, alot of blood work, and hard work by my doctor the only thing that has turned up is an active thyroid. Hypothyroidism is what we "think" is the concern. It has been checked 3 times, and twice it was off. My doctor proscribed some medicine(Levothyroxine, lowest dose possible for now- .25 or 25) for 2 months. In 6 weeks we'll do blood work again and see if I still have the inner cold feeling.
6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia through a chest x-ray. I was put on Avelox and an inhaler. Two days later I had to go to the ER b/c the symptoms were worse. Breathing was more difficult. I was then given an antibiotic shot and a Zpac. They did a blood test-WBC was normal. I started to feel better the next week. However, as soon as the antibiotic round was over, my symptoms began to return. I run a low fever on and off all day of 99.
I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
