Avatar m tn The A1C is what your doctor goes by. It gives your blood glucose reading for the last 90 days. Good luck.

When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
Avatar n tn Are there any chart available for conversion of sugar numbers from mg dl to mmol?
Avatar f tn I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar f tn Why is it that even though my latest A1C was 6.0 and my numbers are always around 100, I still get terrible pain and cramping?
Panda I am so impressed that you were able to bring your blood glucose back to normal and your A1C down to 6.4. How long were you on the diet before your A1C from from 9.9 to 6.4? I went on a diet and my A1C went from 6.9 to 7.3. I took in way too little calories and lost 10 pounds - down to 105 lbs now! But my cholesterol went down drastically.
Avatar f tn I am a type II diabetic and I would like to know what is considered a "good" blood sugar reading for me when I test at different times of the day....before meals, after meals, fasting in the morning, at bedtime and other random times during the day.
Avatar f tn s easy to confuse them with A1Cs. What type of test was the 7.1? Was that an A1C or a fasting blood sugar. If the latter, yes 7.1 (127.8) fasting is just into the diabetic range. (126) The OGTT is just under the definition of diabetes (200). The 10.8 is 194.4 and makes it pre-diabetic. However the A1C you report 5.6 is under even the pre-diabetes level (starting at 5.7). The A1C is the standard for diagnosis of pre-diabetes and diabetes.
Avatar m tn You need to see when your blood sugar peaks, and in future this will be the time you test. It is possible that your blood sugar only reaches it's highest level at 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Testing at 1 hour is not going to give you a representative result. So, eat a higher carb meal - but something you would typically eat (don't eat fruity pebbles they have absolutely no nutritional value). Test before the meal (ie.
Avatar m tn To add to my suspicion my job made us to blood work last month and my Glucose level was at 80 mg/dL. A1C was not measured on this exam. Do you think I should re-test? This seems strange but then again this is all very new to me. Please any insight would be very helpful.
Avatar m tn Ahhh, thanks Barb. I don't know my terms yet. It would be my A1c results. I don't do daily testing, I've just had the two blood tests so far, 4 months apart. I did some searching yesterday, based on my diet, and think it might be the plain Cheerios I eat in the morning (w/blueberries and 1% milk). Lots of people mention spikes in their sugars after eating that cereal, so I'm thinking I'll ditch it. Any other thoughts would be much appreciated.
Avatar n tn The Doctor and I have the blood sugar under control (89 to 130) But the a1c seems to keep in th range of 7.7 to 8.1. I'I'm taking actos, vytrin, and glyburide. Is there anything else I can be doing? This discussion is related to How do i lower my hemoglobin A1c?.
390388 tn?1279636213 Hi. My Dr. said my sugar was borderline low? I think. My numbers are listed below if anyone could explain what they mean, if anything at all I would greatly appreciate it. Glu-FST 101 (60-99) GFR- AF 102 (90-200) Glu-1HR 153 (85-160) GFR-AL 84 (90-200) Glu-2HR 119 (70-125) Hemoglobin A1C 6.4 (4.0-6.
Avatar n tn Found it: 6.2 A1C is an average blood sugar of 131. Your typical blood sugars sound a bit higher than that, so I'm wondering if they have gone up recently and that A1C is older. Again, A1Cs are just an average and lows could skew it. Your daily numbers tell the story and if those are consistent then you want them lower. Doctors, unfortunately, have higher goals because the ADA is behind on what blood sugars should be and that is their guidelines.
Avatar m tn it is based on the the amount of sugar stuck to red blood cells and the assumption that red blood cells live 90 days. if YOUR red blood cells live longer then your A1c will be higher.
Avatar m tn com/diabetes/guide/normal-blood-sugar-levels-chart-adults This article has information related to charting of glucose numbers. If you were fasting, I think it's time to have an evaluation by your physician to look into your glucose numbers. If you were not and it was before a meal, then they would be close to normal. so, that info would be helpful for further discussion.
Tbd I agree with Sally. Get a meter & check your sugar. Change your diet based on your numbers. Ditch the sugar & detox from sugar it is like a drug. When you detox from sugar you reduce the taste for it but don't return to your bad habits. Get your numbers down, your BMI down (reduce your waist size), lose weight & let dome form of exercise be your norm. If it turns to a diabetic # you will have issues like SF low healing wounds & bruises that take a long time to heal.
Avatar f tn By measuring your blood sugar response to different foods (test 2 hours after eating) you can work out which foods elevate blood sugar levels (Keep maximum blood sugar levels less than 140 (7.7), but even better if you can keep it below 100 (5.5). Exercise can also help you body to respond better to insulin and take up and use sugar in your blood. So a brisk walk for 30 minutes after eating could be helpful...

Avatar f tn Hello everyone. I wanted to ask a question about blood sugar levels. Normally my a1c stays between 4 and 5%. A few weeks ago the doctor said that my a1c is now 6.7%. also my good cholesterol levels are low. My fasting blood sugars range from 140 to 163. 2 hours after eating my blood sugar levels are 183-202. I have never been diagnosed as being a diabetic, but a few years ago my doctor said I was pre-diabetic.
