Common Questions and Answers about Chantix and insurance coverage

chantix

Avatar f tn I am BiPolar II rapid cycling and a smoker. I was taking Depakote, Lithium, and Propranolol. I have been off my meds for almost 3 months because I lost my insurance. I want to stop smoking. Since I am struggling with my moods due to lack of meds, I am very concerned about how the nicotine withdrawals if I were to quit cold turkey. Any suggestions? From my research I have found that Chantix is definitely not an option for me.
Avatar f tn My insurance dropped me and I applied for medicade and still got nothing. So pretty much im paying out of pocket dr visits...
Avatar f tn You will have to tell the insurance you are married bc you have to change your name with them.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
1191960 tn?1280074080 I live in Oregon and have Providence health insurance. They pay 50% of everything except IVF. I also have Healthcomp-they dont cover infertility but they do cover ultrasounds and office visits. For sure shop around.
Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
Avatar f tn Good point on the potential changes in insurance coverage. The copays and % coverage of trt can change during annual renewals. Many businesses review their health insurance policies on a calendar or fiscal year basis and the changes can really add up for those using these expensive drugs. With increases in the cost of insurance coverage is sometimes watered down, resulting in small increases in premiums, but poorer coverage.
729288 tn?1251254433 I will pay the $215 on monday for my shipment then I am waiting the 2 weeks suggested and beginning. Here is my question. I am also on chantix.. the stop smoking drug. I really need to stop because I think 27 years is long enough to smoke for anyone. Does anyone know if it will have any kind of reaction? My doc told me to go ahead it wouldnt hurt me.
Avatar f tn I travel every year and always have lots of coverage and have recently purchased extra coverage through blue cross. I am currently on triple therapy with full coverage.
Avatar f tn My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 6 years. We finally got pregnant (our miracle baby) I'm about 6 weeks and NO insurance. Deadline for coverage was Feb 15th. Any recommendations for insurance or ideas Thank you.
Avatar f tn Since Katheryn is not currently covered by any insurance, and if she were to become eligible for group insurance through an employer she would need to find a different doctor with no prior knowledge of her illness. Otherwise, once the insurance company receives the information from her doctor, they will determine it is pre-existing and she will have to wait to be covered for treatment of hepc approximately 6 months. That's the usual length of time on pre-existing illnesses.
Avatar f tn Call them again and tell them you need insurance coverage immediately due to pregnancy. You can not be denied. Don't let them send you in circles!
1284791 tn?1271994267 As far as I know, IVF is offered only thorugh group insurance coverage. We delayed seeking fertility treatment in order to get our insurance worked out first. My husband and I formed our own husband/wife group (he owns his own business, I went to work for him, he pays employee taxes on me). Our accountant helpd us with the paperwork. After we set all of this up we applied for group coverage. We did this in order to get maternity coverage, which is otherwise unavailble in Texas.
Avatar f tn The bill came in today and it was $9.50. Neither of my plans have a deductible and i receive my insurance through work.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if Armour would be covered by Medicaid or not, because Medicaid typically only covers generics (without a medically sound reason for brand name) and there is no generic Armour. Your co-pay will depend on the insurance you have. I'm on Tirosint and my co-pay is about $54/mo; my co-pay for generic T3 med is about $9 for 90 days, but I have pretty fair insurance. Not getting the treatment you need is always a chance you take whenever changing doctors.
443006 tn?1229201842 Has anyone had experience with Fibrospect test being denied insurance coverage? I have PERS Blue Cross and my insurance is refusing to cover the test, saying it was not medically necessary or appropriate. I am a G-2b and did not have a biopsy since I had planned on being treated regardless of stage of liver damage. I've been fighting with my insurance about this for six months. Any suggestions from anyone?
915369 tn?1355314810 Yes when any medication is stopped there are flare ups of what it is treating. There should be some way to appeal the denial of coverage. It would be worthwhile to contact the company representative and if they can't help appeal the denial or find another means of coverage if you are not eligible.
1365830 tn?1277997291 ve been finding out now basically how crappy there maturnity coverage is and now we have an ultra sound next week and more bloodwork. Are there any insurance companies that cover pre-existing conditions or some kind of program that helps with th costs? I'm getting so stressed I don't want to eat cup of noodles the rest o my pregnancy!
Avatar f tn Once we depleted our 24k, DH and I purchased secondary insurance. I live in Massachusetts and it is also the law to cover IVF. This has allowed us to continue with our IVF treatments, which has been a blessing! You should talk to your clinic and ask them which insurance works the best for the clinic and go purchase it, again, as a secondary insurance. We plan on dropping the secondary plan when we become pregnant, God willing! Good luck!

380558 tn?1309042387 they should think hey if we pay now for chantix, and we quit how much money would the insurance save in the long run..silly how the insurance company's work.. are you going to fill your script??
Avatar f tn I just got a new job 2 weeks ago and my fiances insurance wont cover my pregnancy. Any help on what other options I have?
Avatar f tn No. Your insurance will hopefully. PIP (personal injury protection) kicks in immediately. Then your insurance goes after them for coverage. At least that's how it works here.
Avatar f tn Are you including government health insurance, such as medicaid and medicare in your list? There are so many different types of insurance as well. Policy coverage can range from excellent to minimal. The out-of-pocket expenses might be an intersting poll for you to put together as well. This is a great question.
1096641 tn?1271707225 I used Chantix and didn't have any complications. I have never heard of headaches related to Chantix and I just googled "chantix and headaches" which brought up several articles but there was nothing that links the two (mentions of Chantix and headache on the same page). Just wondering Terry where you heard/read it? My husband suffered from cluster headaches and they were nothing like the ones you describe. His were so intense and lasted sometimes for hours.
Avatar f tn Do any of you have pet insurance. I've looked at a couple but they seem like a rip off. A lot of stuff is excluded from coverage and after the deductible and what they don't cover, it seems like what little they do pay is not as much as the premiums.
Avatar m tn i have no insurance( i know i know) and barley any money and was wondering if anyone in the San Francisco/bay area knew of a clinic or something that help low income people with treatment for this diseases.
Avatar f tn If you have lets say BCBS and a prescription coverage is the covered? Medication for treatment?
