Avatar m tn Thanks so much for your quick reply! However, I should have specified that I'm looking for specialists in the Washington DC area, and the ones you listed are for Washington state. Luckily I'm not yet so desperate for help that I need to get on a plane for treatment. ;) Are there any specialists on your list for MD/DC/VA? I prefer MD since that's where I live, but DC and VA aren't too bad of a drive for me either.

Avatar f tn I would love to find an endo specialist/surgeon in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia area to get the endo excised. I am tired of feeling so awful. I would love to travel to a specialty center, but I have 3 young children and a part-time job. Thank you so much!!
Avatar n tn Dr James Gilbert at Metro Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Washington, DC does it. I am debating getting it done by him for for patellar tendonitis.
Avatar f tn I've been to several endocrinologists in the Baltimore/ DC area, including the endocrine clinic at Hopkins. The only endo that I've seen that is worth recommending is Dr. Kundra at Washington Hospital Center in DC. She doesn't treat based on the ref. range and she is the only one who has been able to feel my nodules without knowing US results. I've also heard good things about Dr. Sindler in Pikesville, but I have no personal experience with him. I think Dr.
Avatar n tn I have had two episodes of bleeding behind the retina since having laser surgery for catarac removal with lens? and is it dangerous?
Avatar n tn no my right eye turns out when m not wearing glasses. and contact lenses are not able to keep them in alignment....

Avatar n tn I don't think there is one best astigmatism-correcting contact for everyone. Toric and RGP contacts both correct astigmatism. A doctor who is experienced at fitting contacts can determine which contact(s) would work for your friend.
Avatar m tn One was placed 8 years ago and one was placed 2 years ago. I had surgery for peri implantitis on the most recent implant in June 2013. I have consistently experienced a lot of pain around this implant. The pain resolved briefly after the surgery in June, but is now back in full force. I have consulted with several periodontists and they cannot "see" a current infection, but also cannot rule it out.
Avatar m tn Try a Google search for "floatertalk" There are many retina specialists who will do this but I have noticed that some laser the edges of the retina before surgery and this causes some people to develop macular edema afterwards. I had a vitrectomy in Dec. 2009 ( for floaters) and it has been perfect so far but I had a well developed PVD and have been told I had a very liquid vitreous since I began receiving regular eye exams ( about 29 years ago ).
4987347 tn?1361974337 I have a new patient appt. with Maryland Endocrinology in Columbia tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. (or if you've already tried them, please let me know what you thought) I've also tried the endocrine clinic at Johns Hopkins, but you only get a 40 history review and an exam to see if your thyroid is enlarged, beyond that they just send you on your way with a lab slip and a call back. Very disappointed. I also, have an appt.
Avatar m tn t have cataracts, have not had cataract surgery and many that have had cataract surgery with both acrylic and silicone IOLs that have not had Yag laser capsultomy. IOL exchange with an open posterior capsule is relatively risky procedure.
233616 tn?1312787196 My surgery was complicated as my portal vein was occluded and a new one had to be made for me. I was in surgery for 13hours. My donor was in surgery for 6. The total cost for both operations and our hospital stay, tests, etc. was 75K. Since my surgery, I've had 2 simple outpatient procedures and will probably need a third. The cost to the insurance companies for each is 12k. My three procedures will land up costing half of what I paid for the transplant.
Avatar f tn What is the treatment if the reduction is significant? Do they do any type of surgery? If so, is it laser surgery and can it be done in the office?
Avatar n tn Yes, I have had the occipital nerves and the frontal nerves decompressed. I have been fighting an ongoing migraine headache for almost 3 1/2 years with hypersensitivities to sound and light. My surgeon was featured last year on 20/20. His name is Ivica Ducic and practices at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC. The decompressions helped, but not enough to be "normal" yet. In two weeks, the occipital nerves will be cut and removed and I hope for a world of difference.
