Avatar m tn Hello Doctor, I was thinking of a new hiv/aids prevention method. It starts with if you cover the externel urethrtal orifice, with some sort of lets say duct tape. Will it help prevent the spreading of HIV. I was wondering since it is the only way vaginal fluid, or any type of bodily fluid could enter via oral, anal sex. Thus being covered, there isn't a way for the virus to enter nor leave. Your answer will be greatly appreciated and respected. Thank you for your time.

Avatar n tn There are none at UCSF. Biopsy is the standard for measuring liver disease in the gastroenterology and liver transplant clinics as far as I know. The only other option I imagine would be the one other liver transplant program in Northern California, CPMC -California Pacific Medical Center. The Liver Disease and Transplant Program at California Pacific Medical Center 415-600-1020. Good luck.
Avatar n tn We had protected sex, but she did give me unprotected oral sex for maybe 2-3 seconds at the most and I also gave back oral sex for maybe 5 seconds (2 licks). Then we had sex with a condom on. After that she told me she had sex with 4 different guys since she last got tested 3 weeks ago when she said she was negative. She also told me she always wore condoms with the 4 other guys and never had unprotected sex with them.
Avatar f tn I have a chiari type1 and I am going in for my MRI flow study at UCSF ( University of California San Francisco) in a few days. I am seeing a NS named Dr. Kliot. As far as I can tell he is the only doctor at UCSF who is qualified to do decompression surgeries but it seems he has little experience with them as chiari is not a specialty for him.
Avatar n tn I am not gay, but this is alarming. Some people on this site feel that it is very hard to get HIV/AIDS, but I think this is an eye opener. I would like to see what the experts have to say? A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that tested over 8,000 people in 21 cities, found that one in FIVE gay men in the United States has HIV, and almost half of those who carry the virus are unaware that they are infected.
Avatar m tn He needs a CT scan with contrast or MRI with contrast to diagnose HCC plus the doctors that can tell a benign tumor from HCC.
