Avatar m tn Recently during the physical checkup, the doctor detected that I have a problem of undescended testis in inguinal canal. I was not aware of this earlier. What is the best way to proceed now? Will surgically removing it help reduce the chances of testical cancer?
Avatar m tn Most undescended testes are associated with a hernia that must be repaired. After this is done, the testis is brought down into the scrotum and anchored in a space created in the scrotum (orchiopexy). When a testis is not palpable on physical exam, its location must be determined. We have not found x-rays to be reliable in this regard. We place a laparoscope through a small incision below the 'belly button' to look in the abdomen at the time of surgery.
Avatar n tn Testicular cancer is manifested with a hard lump in the testis with pain. But in your case as you mentioned there is no swelling, then the chances of cancers are very less. But if you visit a urologist, at first, physical examination of testicles for any swelling will be seen, then ultrasound and scan if required can be done, to rule out all the possibilities. As your discomfort and pain have subsided with antinflammatories, I don’t think there is a need to worry.
Avatar n tn s been more than 2 yrs that we are living together and trying to have a baby, since my husband lab test shows that he got a low testosterone level, is there any chance of having get pregnant in a natural way rather than an in-vitro which the doctor tell us that, thats the only option we have?
Avatar f tn I am the mother to a 3 month old baby boy who has been diagnosed with vanishing testis syndrome. He is fully developed as a boy but some time after 7 months of pregnancy his testicles twisted, lost blood supply and have died. Doctors have told us he will need testosterone replacement to go through puberty and will need testicular implants. I was wondering is there is anyone who has been through or knows someone who have been through this. Any information would be helpful.
Avatar m tn hello, I have a question. my English isn't my native language - so I apologize for the English. I wanted to ask if tight underwear for a male kid ( from age 12 - 18) might make a developmental problem. though I am already after 20, I need to know this. my parents dressed me with tight underwear when I was 12 to 18 years old. They gave me old inflexible underwear from my elder brothers. I have a big suspicion that this had made mi problems.
Avatar m tn Just keep an eye on it and test every few months. If your prostate has been removed and you still produce psa, it merely means that some of the prostate cells escaped removal and are still producing psa. ASlso your gleason score is quite low so the cancer you HAD was not a viable life threadening type. Congrats on that!
Avatar m tn Though I was under medical care, I was told it would just take time for the swelling to go down. The swelling did go down about a month later, but it took the rest of the testicle with it; it atrophied to about the size of a pea. The anxiety I had over effectively having only 1 testicle contributed to some sexual dysfunction. To combat this, I opted to get a prosthetic testicle to replace the one that atrophied.
Avatar n tn About 2 weeks after that the once little hole in my scrotum had now transformed the left side of my scrotum to about the size of a large grapefruit, I than underwent emergency surgery to have a left orchiectomy. It turned out to be a staph infection, and the scrotum was left open to heal from the inside out. If you can live with it than leave it, if not you must be prepared to loose the testicle.
Avatar m tn Free T3 is the thyroid hormone that individual cells in the body actually use, while FT4 is more or less a "storage hormone" and must be converted to Free T3 prior to use... It's possible that your body isn't doing the conversion adequately. Your FT4 is at 58% of its range, which is higher than the recommended 50% of range... so your thyroid seems to be producing adequately.
4326355 tn?1354357341 It is good that the other hormone tests and ultrasound done were normal. Low testosterone levels may be caused by a number of factors: It is possible that there is a problem with the hypothalamus and pituitary gland or problem with the testis. Factors such as aging, undescended testicles, injury to the scrotum, chemotherapy or radiation therapy, mumps orchitis, use of anabolic steroids, and even obesity may also be responsible.

Avatar n tn One simple explanation is sexual arousal that does not end in ejaculation can cause congestion in the sperm carrying tubes. This causes a dull aching sensation in the testicle also called ‘blue balls’. Masturbation helps relieve this pain. Hernia and hydrocele are the other possibilities. Please consult an urologist as a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hello, Inguinal hernia surgeries can cause damage to the testicles, bladder, kidneys, nerves blood vessels, femoral artery (artery in the thigh), pain in the thigh, painful scarring and it can cause infertility in men. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Testosterone is actually a hormone which is produced by the testis and excess of testosterone is not good. I would suggest you to consult your doctor before trying for any of these methods. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Others are more into attaching weights to their testicles and causing a high amount of tension in all the tensile material in the scrotum / testicles / cords themselves. I've even see videos where a cattle prod or some type of electrical device was used to shock the testicles.
1068689 tn?1325827206 -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Avatar m tn Often the panel is confusing - one number in the high normal range, one number in the low normal range, the doc says well that all looks fine when you are completely out of "whack". Often a doc will treat you as if you have hypothyroidism, with the meds, even though it doesn't show up on the panel that way, and it works. Is your doc willing to treat you with thyroid meds?
Avatar n tn I would agree with the answer you have already had, see your doctor and check that the Testosterone is in the normal range. You are lucky that you don't live in the UK, where it is an offense to take anobolic steroids without a prescription! Also if you think you have an hormonal inbalance it may be worth your while seeing a gyne doctor.

Avatar m tn Problems such as chronic illness (mumps in childhood which damaged testis), aging (not in your case), starvation, head injury, surgeries in testicular area, cancers, infections, and alcoholism are also among the causes of low testosterone levels. Chronic use of steroids can cause a decrease in testosterone level. Please consult an endocrine specialist and an urologist.
