celexa

646598 tn?1223708455 Has anyone tried Celexa or any other anti-depressants for their Fibromyalgia? I was told it was approved this past June, of 2008, for the "treatment" of Fibromyalgia. If so, did it help any?
Avatar n tn I have had fibromyalgia for 10 years. This past August of 06 I filed for short term disabilty, then when to long term disabilty. For the last year and a half I have been having a lot of issues with the fibromyalgia. Back in August of 07 I started stumping, loosing my balance and falling. Back in October I fell and broke my right leg. My question is loosing your balace, falling, etc. part of the fibromyalgia.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I have been on Remeron and Celexa for a couple of months now for my anixety (no panic attacks). I still have leg, hip and low back tighness. Now I'm getting some twitching and twinges (split second cramps). I've been stretching my muscles in Yoga and got a deep tissue massage. She said my back muscle were tight and could be causing them to press on my sciatic nerve which might explain the leg soreness. But then my leg (posterior) are tight and sore deep inside.

698232 tn?1229596461 Hello everyone, and thank you for your time in reading my post. I am a 28 yr old female who has always had leg cramps. I have suffered with them since I can remember. I have always been able to take a hot bath, and apply a little absorbine jr, and find myself to sleep. Recently though this trick does not work. Now I not only get these cramps around bedtime in my legs I am getting them in my forearms at the exact same time. They hurt so bad its near impossible to bear.
Avatar f tn Wait, let's back up here. Were you suffering mental illness before being put on Celexa, or just pain? It's also not a good idea to use drugs for mental illness with a regular doc -- anyone who's ever researched them or taken them knows they can cause muscle pain and spasms.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for 12 years. In addition, I have many of its symptoms such as IBS, restless leg syndrome, depression, chronic pain, leg spasms, limb twitching and involuntary moment, flu like symptoms daily, osteoporosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease involving 6 bulging disc, bone spurs down my spine, and stenosis. It is very difficult but I guess it could always be worse. I had to stop working a year and a half ago.
Avatar n tn My symptoms began as myalgias and fatigue and I was diagnosed as fibromyalgia and treated with antidepressants for years. I've always had sleep trouble and GI complaints, so I seemed to accept this diagnosis. Over the last 3 months, I began having generalized numbness and tingling with associated burning and hypersensitivity of my skin, a raw feeling in my mouth and painful teeth. My muscle aches and fatigue continue and seem to get worse with weather change and stress.
1128643 tn?1262483649 Finally, in 2003, I was in a study for treatment resistant depression and Lexapro quite literally saved my life. I was later switched to Celexa for financial reasons. I had no problems transitioning and have taken it for the past six years. Now the issue: I suffer from chronic pain as well, and apparently my pain mgmt doc believes Cymbalta (approved for fibromyalgia) may keep my depression in check while also helping me deal with pain & its own related depression.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been prescribed celexa for my anxiety problems which were chest pains, dizzyness, loss of concentration etc. I have been on 20 mg now for about a month and a half and I was wondering how long it takes for a case like mine to recover and finally come off celexa. Also one weird thing ive noticed is that my eye is twitching a lot which is the only side effect I have from this drug. Will it go away? Anyone else taking celexa for anxiety?
Avatar m tn Everything is reportedly normal and I was told I have anxiety and was put on celexa. I have a family history of fibromyalgia and diabetes but these have been ruled out. My husband suggested I see a neurologist and fears it might be multiple sclerosis. Should I? Any ideas as to what this could be?
Avatar f tn celexa is a good medication but when it comes to antidepressants u should follow the rule of {TRIAL AND ERROR} since there r different medications for depression our bodies responce is different so u should be on celexa for about 4 weeks to decide wether its good for u
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after 4 years of fatigue and then having a stiff neck for. a year and then pain. I went to a rheumatologist and on my first and only visit was told it is fibromyalgia. Thank you for your support, it does help to vent!
Avatar f tn Also, you need to quit smoking if you want to have an effective treatment for your Fibromyalgia. Remember, Fibromyalgia is treatable without side effects but you need to find the right doctor and minimize all stresses.
Avatar n tn You say Been prescribed Celexa but Doc is considering that I might have bipolar 2, is the same doc who has prescribed celexa the one to have concluded BP2 or for instance you were prescribed celexa by a GP then your pdoc told you to stop it as you may have BP2. Incidentally all pharm companies marketing antidepressants say they don't drive people manic yet they do.
Avatar n tn I have been taking celexa (20 mg) for two weeks for anxiety with Klonopin just when I need it. I don't like the way the celexa is making me feel. Do you think I will have any side effects only taking it for two weeks if I stop?
Avatar m tn is celexa just for depression?? or does it also help with anxiety's?? is this one on the bottom of the list?? like zoloft,paxil,lexapro,prozac..this is in the same category as these others....please explain this??
Avatar m tn My doctor thinks so and prescribed some Ativan and Celexa. I think I fell the affects of the Celexa because I feel like Im in a good mood most of the time. Im still having chest pains and my heart rate will increase for no apparent reason. Sometimes both hands will turn purple colors now. So Celexa has helped my mood but not my symptoms. Whats wrong with me?
Avatar m tn Cymbalta is an SNRI which may make a difference for you. I took it for about 2 years and had no side effects.
358486 tn?1294776388 I was diagnosed with fibro a year ago but have had it for 12 years, and have been on celexa for yearS, it didnt help one thing! I switched to Cymbalta 60mg 4 weeks ago and have much less fatigue and anxiety. They are in the same family of anti-depressants SSRI which increase "feel good" hormones in your body, but i feel cymbalta works much better!! Im hoping to also start Lyrica as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
Avatar f tn Okay, you say you suffered from anxiety for years but apparently managed it without medication. Then you started suffering symptoms, but it's not clear if the increase in anxiety occurred before you started feeling sick or after. Mono is a very serious illness that makes you really really sick. It can adversely affect the liver. It can definitely cause sweating, but probably more in the earliest stages. It does cause extreme fatigue.
