Celexa and back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa and back pain

celexa

Avatar f tn I had 3 or 4 days where almost all of my pain (especially the sciatica) was just...gone...but now it's back, and it's worse. I attributed the improvement to the fact that I was taking Celexa (started it on Wednesday), but I'm still taking it and yeah... Just wondering what this might be about...on top of everything else I still have yet to here from the physical therapist to whom I was theoretically referred.
Avatar m tn CeleXa inhibits reuptake allowing more seratonin to be left in the synaptic gap causing the threshold for the nerves firing to be techniquelly less because less has to be delivered for the spark to occur since more is already there and available. I have smoked M. for 2 years and recently started CeleXa. The only thing ive noticed thus far is that I am less affected by the M. now that I am on CeleXa.
Avatar m tn Its been awhile since I haven't woken up with neck pain in the top of the back part of my neck. I also suffer from horrible anxiety. 8 days ago I started 20mg of celexa and two after I developed a constant tremor in arms, legs, jaw, and head. It isn't a violent tremor and it's barely noticeable. I went to the doctor and he cut my dosage in half but I stopped taking two days ago of this fear I developed over the tremors. My mind is going crazy with thoughts about serious diseases.

Have been on for 2wks and still have the problem. Has anyone had to strain to actually get the urine started were now i have straining pain in my groin. Plus delayed ejaculation?
5140021 tn?1364185966 I read a paper that Celexa helps vertigo. anyone experience this? I may have to get back on Celexa and not for Panic or Anxiety but for the vertigo that started 3 days ago.
1154945 tn?1262238945 I tried taking St. John's Wort after discovering it through the MedHelp boards. I've been taking three 300mg pills daily. I feel slightly better, but it's just not working like I was hoping. I've decided to switch back to 10mg of Celexa, just to try it out, and I was wondering how I need to switch over from St. John's to Celexa. Is there a way I can switch over as soon as possible to try to avoid the first few weeks of side effects?
Avatar f tn I only started them 8 weeks ago, .50 zoloft and .50 klonopin 3x/day. Started to feel extreme anxiousness in the mornings, and blamed the zoloft so I asked my doctor to get off it and she gave me a tapering schedule, once off that I will begin tapering off the klonopin (using buspar---not as addictive as other benzos, so dr said). Hoping I can try to work my way through these attacks without medicine. Are you suppose to take celexa for anxiety. Is the anxiety severe enough?
Avatar m tn Sounds like a stronger pain medicine would help, and also I would go back to the doctor who hit a nerve and demand that he do something. Celexa is for arthritis pain, I'm surprised you're on this. Plus, Celexa has many side effects, which may be adding to your problems, I refused to take it. Can you tell me what type of kidney problems you have, and what is being done for it?
Avatar f tn I think I do have anxiety everyday, it's just not as bad as it used to be. I was in bed for over a month, I think I was depressed also. I was reading about the exercise, I used to run 3 miles a day before my anxiety and now I can't even clean my house because it hurts so much, my arm, back, shoulder and chest and with the pain comes anxiety. Do you have any advise on how I could start up on my exercising without over doing it? I need to take off the 20lbs I put on!!
Avatar f tn You souls like a very sweet and educated man!! Thanks a lot!! Day two of the Celexa and I am speeding my *** off !! Lol.
Avatar m tn At first, Celexa made me sleepy and relaxed. Believe me, this was a Good Thing! At last, I could sleep well! I cannot say that the drug itself decreased my PVCs--however, it DID decrease my awareness of them. Since their frequency was related to my anxiety and awareness of them (because of the effects of adrenaline), as I became less and less conscious of these sensations, the frequency of PVCs decreased dramatically. Trust your doctor and give this a try.
Avatar m tn since then i have this buzzing noise and other noises in my head. im trying to cut back on it i want to get off of it. has anyone every went through this and how long does it last. i really want to beat my doctor for this.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I just started 20 mg of generic Celexa (3 days ago) and the doc also gave me Ambien and Klonopin (take .25mg) to relieve the anxiety until the Celexa kicks in. I wake up shaky/hot and kind of panicky. Which drug is this from drugs, or is it still the anxiety. I know this takes time, but I don't want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either.
Avatar f tn First, I'd like to give you a bit of a background on me. I've been struggling with depression and since I was a senior in high school. I was hospitalized for a week my senior year because I wanted to kill myself. I recently completed my sophomore year of college. Last summer I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I am in a long distance relationship. He lives in GA and we've been together for a little over a month.
Avatar f tn Once you learn that you have a controlling mechanism for your panic attacks, you will no longer fear them and you will get them less and less frequently. Celexa is more of an anti depressant, so it really won't bring you down if you get to the point of having a panic attack.
1302779 tn?1287405029 hello all i have been on 40mg celexa and .05 klonopin for a few months now. I feel that the ssri doesnt relly touch the anxiety ,and without the klonopin i would still be anxious! Does anyone get anxiety relief from there ssri alone? i know many people take 2 or more meds and I just wanted to know if im on the right track. any input would be great!
Avatar f tn I've been on Celexa, Neurontin, and Meloxicam for some time due to chronic pain, depression arthritis, and neuropathy. I've been reading a lot about DLPA and it says NOT to take it with SSRI's. Does anyone know whether I should stop taking the Celexa before I ever start taking Ithis supplement? I'm very anxious to give this supplement a try! My depression has gotten severe...to the point that NOTHING works anymore, I have no sex drive, feel hopeless, I have no motivation, etc...
Avatar n tn t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose. 1. how do i tapper off celexa 20mg 2. what would be my side effects 3.
Avatar n tn Once I got off the muscle relaxer and/or pain killer, the anxiety started to come back. Anxiety just takes sedating...I used Ativan on/off as needed prescribed by my doctor. I'm also in the perimenopause stage of life which anxiety is like the #1 symptom.
Avatar f tn I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen. Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing! On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
Avatar f tn Welcome, I can feel your pain when you type. Can I assume you are on Suboxone through a doctor? And if so, did he/she set you up with any sort of counseling? Or did the doctor who prescribed the Celexa set you up?
Avatar n tn When that did nothing for the insomnia and resulting panic, I went to a regular doctor the next day and he prescribed Celexa and Klonopin. I did sleep last night, thankfully. My question now is, can I take one of these low dose Xanax today? I started the Celexa last night and took 1 mg Klonopin to sleep. I just want to feel normal again.
Avatar f tn And what is a better drug to take? I am ADD/ADHD and really stressed out. I feel better when I take celexa 20 mg. daily and 5mg of Ritalin twice daily. I am only 4'11" and this weight HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn Go a a websight called The Road Back and read about their program of tapering--and to avoid the chronice anxiety-- and what they use. It does work on celexa ands drugs like that.--mostly antidepressantds,. benzos etc. Ity just might help you.--I used it successfully.
Avatar f tn MY QUESTION IS, IS IT SAFE TO ADD CELEXA TO MY MEDICATIONS (40) MG CELEXA 1 TIME A DAY? I ASK THE CLINIC, PHARMACIST AND PCP AND ALL 3 SAID I SHOULD DO OK BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR MORE LIKE:DEFENATELY I CAN TAKE THESE 3 MEDS TOGETHER. ANYONE CAN TELL ME IF THIS IS DEFINATELY OK??
Avatar n tn They can enhance the effects of the opiates as well as treat the depression we so often develop with chronic pain. I assmue you mean celexa and bot selexa. Drug nanes can be difficult to spell correctly, at least for me they can be. First let me clarify that I am not a pharmacist, physician or and expert in medications. Your best and most accurate advice will come form your physician.
Avatar f tn After a few months of bad headaches and strange body aches, my PCP put me on 10mg Celexa. Within two days I called telling him I was getting weird muscle spasms, twitching and pain sensations in my chest, arms and legs. He assured me this was not from the medicine (even though it's described in the side effects) and urged me to keep giving it a try. I did, for close to four weeks. I still felt awful so then - probably foolishly - stopped taking it cold turkey.
457882 tn?1235377080 he also prescribed me 20 mg celexa and i wondered if i should wait to get over withdrawal or take it now as im going through the withdrawal...
Avatar f tn I've taken three benzos, but not that one. But using benzos for sleep isn't the best idea, as they're so easy to become addicted to if you take them regularly, and insomnia tends to get worse with continued use of medication for sleep. I would especially try to wait it out as you're not anywhere near a therapeutic dose of the Celexa yet, and it might make you sedated when you move up. If the Celexa works you won't need the Ativan much.
