celebrex

Avatar f tn Hello, Previously before starting Celebrex medication I had slightly high blood pressure I am taking blood pressure medication, after starting Celebrex my blood pressure soared to 170/80 and the highest being 183. My doctor sent me to a cardiac specialist and it was found that I had a faulty heart valve, I had an Angiogram and was found to have slightly enlarged heart muscle. Could this have been due to the Celebrex, I have stopped taking it and my blood pressure has returned to 115/60. Cazz.
Avatar f tn If you are going to start a powerful NSAID like Celebrex, I would recommend that you purchase a home blood pressure monitoring kit to periodically check your bp while on this medication. There are also some injectable meds out there that your doctor can inject directly into your knees and feet and they are also non-narcotic.
Avatar n tn I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?
Avatar n tn t start having heartburn until I had taken Mobic for 4 or 5 months, in February of this year I went to the emergency room with chest pain and my blood pressure was 165/113, my blood pressure is usually 110/72. So I was a little concerned, they did lots of tests, x-ray, EKG, and came to the conclusion that it is was heartburn due to the mobic. The doctor prescribed nexium, which I have been taking ever since, and it seems to help with the chest pain.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn 30am, I took a Celebrex. At 9:30 am, my symptoms started and haven't stopped. If anything, they have gotten worse. I feel very lightheaded, I have pressure in my head, mild blurred vision, my ears are closed up, like I need to "pop" them but can't, sudden feelings of flushed skin but no fever, but more than anything, I feel drugged/loopy/unable to focus. This is especially difficult because I just started a new job. I went to my PCP and she immediately said I had VERTIGO.
Avatar n tn are you medication for blood pressure, your doctor or pharmacist is best person talk to, ive been told stay away from ibuprofen its no good for heart and kidneys
Avatar f tn Celebrex may decrease the effectiveness of Metoprolol, and lead to an elevation in blood pressure (approximately 5 mm Hg) when given over a period of weeks. This effect is most significant in patients receiving concurrent antihypertensive agents and long-term Celebrex use.
1155483 tn?1262432647 ve been having terrible headaches and the halos and spots in your vision - they could be sign of elevated blood pressure (I get some of these same symptoms if my blood pressure goes up). I was on Celebrex for a while (also an NSAID) but had to stop taking it as it had raised my blood pressure to a dangerous level (185/105). Tramadol could help, but again you need to be wary. If you have or have a family history of - glaucoma - be VERY careful with this medication.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
Avatar m tn Another thing to consider with the advil is that if you have high blood pressure, any type of anti inflammatory can increase your blood pressure (I have to be very careful with them - was on Celebrex for a short time until it elevated my BP to 185/105 - went back to normal as soon as I stopped the meds) - Untreated HBP can also cause memory problems sometimes (by the way, long term prednisone use can also raise your BP) Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I am a 46 year old female. I have degenerative disc disease. I have received Physical Therapy in past which seemed to trigger me seeing spots while doing certain exercises and traction. I went to specialist for injections c4-c5 or c5-c6 It was about a week after my second treatment I started feeling lightheaded. Usually happens anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour after I wake up and lasts most of the day. standing and moving around is worse.
370181 tn?1595629445 I have have been diagnosed with severe hyperlipademia, I have CAD and two cardiac stents, with a third looming on the horizon. Avatar m tn Dear Doctor. Some days after start using Celebrex I noted a loss of vision in the central area of the vision in one eye. I cant read a letter that I was looking at, but I can see the letters in both sides of the letter I was looking. If I look with that eye to a white wall I can see a yellow circle sorrounding another smaller white circle.
Avatar dr m tn I was on Celebrex for a short time, but, although it was helping my severe arthritis pain, I had to be taken off of it because it was raising my blood pressure to a dangerous level (160/105). Apparently this can be a side effect of all types of NSAID's so have been told I have to be VERY careful about taking any of them.
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
Avatar f tn I initially took celebrex a few years ago for degenerative disc disease. I was totally clean in AA/NA and wasn't on opiates. Celebrex seemed to do me well. The only warning was "don't use NSADs if on blood thinners". So, of course I had to start up on blood thinners after a TIA. That was the end of Celebrex for me. Later my back got worse when I herniated one of the bad discs. Then I was started up on Vicodin 7.
531416 tn?1213145679 Hi Kimberly66, Check my post i just putted about Celebrex vs neuropathy cause as i understand you have use Celebrex in the past and its exactly my case and now i'm coping with neuropathy. I'm sure Celebrex is the cause of it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Stopped the Enbrel, Plaquenil, Celebrex, muscle relaxers, Methotrexate and other meds, and am only taking my blood pressure meds, hormone therapy and this LDN! I am STRONGER, less fatigued, and am doing very well in many areas!! I just wanted all of you to realize this LDN is out there, it's available and works well for most of us.
Avatar f tn Arteries were larger than normal ( I have had high blood pressure for years) I had a nuclear stress test of the heart which was also normal. The Doctor decided to go ahead with the cardiac cath due to the possibility of a false normal. I have been on Celebrex, prednisone, plaquinal, methatrexate, enberol, folic acid, fosamax. I stopped celebrex and prednisone for one month, joint pain became worse, I am on Nexium for the gastritis. I have been healthy except for the rheumatoid arthritis.
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
1256021 tn?1269377814 Also... I have Sciatic symptoms due to lumbar disc issues. The area becomes inflamed, puts pressure on the nerve, then I start walking around in pain / like an old man. The docs eventually put me on NSAIDs (Celebrex and then Meloxicam) and I praise their name every single day since.
Avatar n tn I'm a 66 yr old female, normal weight. Had a total knee replacement six months ago because of a torn ACL, torn meniscus and arthritic knee. The pain is now worse than before I had the replacement surgery. My knee is always swollen, stiff and hot to touch since surgery. I have taken Celebrex that helped the pain but had to stop because my kidney function BU/CU ratio is now elevated. I cannot take other NSAID's because they elevate my blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Advil is ibuprofen which is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDS) and these have been linked to increased fluid load which can cause an increase in blood pressure. I would imagine the fluid load increase could also cause additional edema in your ankles, but that's just my opinion, I'm not a Doctor. I have a prescription for Celebrex for my knees due to OA and I am hesitant to take it for that reason.
