Cefzil antibiotic

Common Questions and Answers about Cefzil antibiotic

cefzil

Avatar f tn My eight year old is allergic to amoxicillin, zithromax, clindamycin, and cefzil. We have seen an allergist, and he said there are no tests for antibiotics and that "we have a problem." Can someone please guide me in what to do next? My doctor was hoping the allergist would help guide us for future treatments. I am fearful for any infection like strep throat, ear or skin infections, we have run out of options.

Avatar f tn A few days ago I woke up with pain on my lower eyelid, on the outer corner. It lasted all day, and then when I went to sleep, I woke up with no pain. That day I was fine. So I went to sleep and yesterday woke up with the inner corner in pain and swollen. It hurt all day and today I woke up with it even more swollen and red and painful.
Avatar n tn I was given a sinus cocktail shot, which contains benadryl and steroids, and cefzil which is an antibiotic. By Tues afternoon, I was starting to feel nervous and antsy. Now, Wed morning, I am very sleepy, shaky, crying and feel like I am jumping out of my skin. Does this sound like a reaction to the steroid in the sinus cocktail shot, or to the antibiotic? It has me worried that I am having another spell.... has anyone ever had this type of reaction?
Avatar f tn But more often that not, his throat is very infected and ulcers develop so that he needs an antibiotic. He doesnt get Strep or Tonsilitis. Because he is allergic to Penicillan and Zithromax isnt very effective for any infection he gets (including ear or respiratory which he very rarely gets) the doc usually gives him Omnicef which works but wreaks havoc on his tummy.
Avatar f tn Anyway, he told me that some people just carry this kindof staff. He put me on antibiotics and recommended I use this soap called cefzil and right away I noticed the boils(purple/redish bumps that have pus in them) lighten up as for the pimples I use oxypads and for everytime I use the restroom I wipe with a babywipe. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn It is currently nothing that is bothersome, although this past month I developed an edematous cheek (possible sinus infection - of which I have never had) and was placed on cefzil. I have responded well to the antiobiotic and the edema is starting to subside. The lesion did bother me at the onset of infection - more an awareness, than pain. That could be in part due to the fact that it has grown significantly in the last 3/52.
Avatar f tn From Sept - Dec I had 3 - 4 ear infections that included ringing in the ears and ear pain and developed diarrhea The last ear infection (still joint pain and back pain) I was put on Cefzil and I had to go to the hospital because of tingling and burning from head to tow. They switched my ab to Levaquin 250 for 7 days. No change in the infection, still had diarrhea, joint pain and back pain. AB was switched to Levaquin 500 for 10 days and I honestly felt GREAT!!
Avatar n tn What antibiotic were you on? Quite a few are safe during pregnancy. Some are not.
Avatar n tn The doctors ran tests and he had stool in his blood. The doctor gave him CYPROS (antibiotic) for a total of 6 days. He had several CT scans and lately a barium to show the leak is still there with no fistulas. Following the barium, he had a bit of stool coming out of his rectum. My question is, should he not be on antibiotics until this leak repairs itself or should he go back to the OR? If he has a colonostomy, does some bowel still pass in the colon?

Avatar f tn Hi, My skin is very sensitive, I have eczema and other chronic skin problems. This summer I got 3 different insect bites on my legs, each bite developed into red, itchy, swelling and warm to touch with 2 days. Each time I called my doctor and he said it's a combination of skin infection and my allergic reaction to the bites. Each time I'm prescribed with antibiotic and it has helped me.
974371 tn?1424653129 Yep, he still feels that is the best antibiotic and wants me to try it again. Said all the meds I am trying afen't really going to work or improve anything because the problem is still there. I just have so many problems with drugs, scares me. He suggested maybe trying the Align? I don't know much about probiotics. Asked if I could try the Dicyclomine or Levsin again but he said not to, probably what caused the arrythmia.

4451049 tn?1387153437 Are antibiotics always discontinued prior to the test with an antibiotic challenge? If so, for how long? Or do ya'll think it makes a difference if I just continue the antibiotics throughout? Has anyone had a successful antibiotic challenge?
