Common Questions and Answers about Causes of anxiety physical

anxiety

Avatar f tn There are many many physical symptoms of anxiety. If you check our archives, you will get a feeling for how anxiety can masquerade as well almost any physical ailment. I have had the fluttery feeling (I call it inside trembling) usually worse in the morning. Also the feeling I was going to faint. It happened today. I got over it. My GP tested me for thyroid problems, but I am fine. Just want you to know you are not alone.
1457916 tn?1287819113 I had every physical symptom of anxiety. I have just started taking Paxil and Ativan and I can already see my symptoms fading. You must get professional help. Don't try to tackle this alone. I suffered for months thinking it would just go away. Anxiety is an evil bugger and cannot be taking lightly. Please seek professional help.
Avatar n tn m trying to go to fall asleep. My hope was the buspirone would help control some of the physical symptoms of anxiety that I have around the same parts of my day so I could avoid taking the Benzos. That has not been the case. I drive 40 miles to work each day with pressure/tingling/pain in my left arm, left side of my chest, esophagus, jaw and left foot. I feel like my eyes bug out and it freaks me out as well.
Avatar m tn The next thing that might be a good idea is to actually address the anxiety. Even if the anxiety is secondary to the tremors....there is anxiety and it would really help you if you addressed it. Go back to see your doc and sit down to discuss some of the treatment options. After you start addressing it and give it ample time.....if it was indeed anxiety...your symptoms will improve, then dissipate all together. Worth a shot, right? Remember too...
Avatar m tn You may also need to monitor your progress as far as major depression and anxiety symptoms are concerned. All of your symptoms do not seem to be due to anxiety or medicine side effects. A neurologist's opinion regarding the association between L5-S1 disc bulge and sensory symptoms in the lower limbs will be important. Take care.
Avatar f tn well if you are having attacks less often or see any improvement in how severe the attacks are, then the paxil is working. it should be expected that it won't completely get rid of your attacks anytime soon...but that it's a work in progress and will take quite some time to completely get over the anxiety. it also may be something you'll manage the rest of your life...but the point of meds are to help. there unfortunately isn't a cure for general anxiety....
Avatar f tn Therefore, more chemicals released into the bloodstream has got to cause some form of physical symptom I guess. The side of your neck may be down to your thyroid trying to release the right amount of chemicals to balance your blood properly as it has to disperse the same amount of chemical that your brain releases into your blood to deal with fear to calm you down.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am a 22 year old female who has suffered from anxiety for many years. I have tried different meds (an SSRI and an SNRI). I weened myself off of the SNRI about 8 months ago and experienced very intense withdrawal symptoms. I felt fine for a while but for a few weeks now my anxiety and panic attacks have been so severe. I am in constant worry and fear. I can barely breathe, I am nauseated, I have headaches and neck and shoulder pain.
Avatar f tn Without stress we would not only be uninteresting, we would not accomplish anything, invent anything espouse no causes, etc., etc. As to anxiety I might look for a physical cause. Try the adrenals, for instance.
Avatar n tn I know that Graves Disease can have symptoms that mimic psychiatric disorders (anxiety, psychosis, mania, irritability, etc...). What other physical illnesses have symptoms that mimic psychiatric illnesses? In other words, if someone suddenly begins to behave quite differently than they have in the past what ailments/illnesses/conditions/diseases should they be checked for to ensure that they have not been misdiagnosed with a psychiatric problem they do not have?
Avatar f tn For some of us, yes they can. I know I've been feeling fine and out of the blue have a panic attack. Have you been under any kind of stress lately that might be causing your symptoms to come back?
Avatar f tn Does anyone out there suffer daily from physical symptoms of anxiety and if so what are they? I have been suffering daily for almost 2 years now from what seem like neurological symptoms. All my symptoms come and go throughout the day without rhyme or reason. I've been screened for MS and had many tests, MRIs and bloodwork that all comes back normal. They are thinking that all of this is caused by anxiety/GAD. The odd thing is that I don't feel anxious all the time.
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor by any means, but this does sound like a lot of things that I'm going through right now -- which is all contributing factors of anxiety. I'm not suffering from any sort of depression though, so not sure if your doctor has told you this has anything to do with that. Keep me posted on everything!
Avatar m tn I'm just wondering if anyone can share some of their physical symptoms of anxiety? Such as constant headache, muscle aches, etc...I can read a book or google the symptoms, but i think it would be better to hear it from some of you here in our forum. Any help is better than no help. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have horrible fatigue, horrible depersonalization, weakness through out all of my muscles, popping and cracking joints (even some that grind like my shoulder blades back) forgetfullness, bad headaches, and horrible brain fog. Please help me! Do you guys think all of these physical symptoms can be caused my anxiety and depression? PLEASE HELP ME!!
Avatar f tn These are true medical conditions whereby instead of a patient experiencing depression or anxiety, they experience physical symptoms, and once the stress is addressed, the symptoms resolve. Fibromyalagia is another medical condition that leads to whole body pains, and is best treated with medications such as lyrica and neurontin, exercise, and physical therapy. If the numbness/sensory changes travel, you may want to be evaluated for migraines with aura or seizure.
971443 tn?1282560078 I never used drugs before that period - and I don`t intend to use drugs ever again, I don`t even drink alcohol, but I am wondering could my anxiety have started because of the drug abuse? And - am I at risk of hallucinating again?
3166043 tn?1514260018 Anxiety causes so many physical symptoms because when you are anxious, you are actually feeling irrational fear to one degree or another, and this makes you tighten up muscles that you would not ordinarily, you may not be aware you are doing this. The tightening of the muscles in this way, when it goes on for long periods of time, are the real cause of many physical symptoms.
Avatar n tn got get a check up with your doctor, to rule out any physical causes. maybe you are over doing it when you workout? maybe age is a factor and you need to start more slowly? it could be extreme tension due the toll anxiety takes on the muscles ie: being tense all the time. try some relaxation exercises and intense stretching for 15 minutes before physicaly activity. this may help. but see a doc first. this doesn't sound like anything too serious at all.
Avatar f tn I was fine this morning then I started to think then I started to focus on feelings I started to feel that humming in legs and feet found myself stiffing my legs and tighting my calves, curling my toes and pressing it on the floor, tighting jaw and of course anxiety shot up. I am forever having headaches behind my back of head right above the neck. I just need to convince myself I don't have neuropathy I don't have no numbing so that is a good sign.
1778927 tn?1381878747 You describe very typical anxiety/panic symptoms. Of course, it never hurts to have a once over with your doc if you haven't had a physical within the past year especially, just to rule out some of the more common causes of your symptoms. What are you doing to address your anxiety?
Avatar f tn do you think that's because of your MS? I was always confident. Now I get stressed very easily and over worry, very odd!!!!
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, Honestly unlikely to be MS when there are far too many more common explanations for the symptoms you experienced initially and then the bilateral limb tingling, some of which you've mentioned eg Anxiety, hyper breathing causes the brain to limit the amount of oxygen going to the limbs and causes bilateral tingling. Alocholism, causes damage to the peripheral nervous system and related peripheral nerve damage.
