Avatar f tn My cat fena was put down a few months ago ans I still don't know what was wrong with her. She was losing weight, had diarrehea and was vomiting. Then she became pregantn and had kittens. The kittens ended up having it and then toher cats around our house got it. So whatever she had was contagious. The vet said it could be internal worms and i got her medicine for that and it didnt help. What was the problem.
Avatar f tn We adopted a cat from the Humane Society about a month and a half ago. He is approx. one year old. Since we brought him home we have been battling with diarriah and vomiting. The vet put him on antiobiotics and recommended chicken and rice for diet. The cat has an appetite and was eating for about 4 days without any vomiting, and finally had a solid stool. Then all of a sudden he vomited over the weekend again and then on Monday he vomited in 4 different spots of the house.
Avatar m tn Hello, My cat has been throwing up a brown very watery liquid for the past few days. He will go maybe a whole day and not throw up at all but then overnight we find that he's thrown up 4 or 5 times. He still drinks his water and eats his food and seems his normal self but i'm worried there might be something else wrong. Oh, this morning in his vomit was a lot of little white pecks maybe a little larger than grains of salt or sugar. Thnx any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn The vomiting and the diarrhea make me think that your 3 year old male cat is allergic to the cat food you are giving him. We have a 10 year old male neutered rescue kitty. The reason I mention him is because we had to change his food because he was vomiting too. I agree with CML2014 . Just becasue the other three cats are fine with the food you are giving them, does not mean the 3 year old male cat is okay with it.
Avatar f tn My cat has worms no matter what i try it lessens then comes back. Could it be her wet cat food?
592969 tn?1248325405 Oh my gosh!! My pickiest cat, Butters, refuses any salmon flavored food. He won't even eat fresh salmon. Best thoughts for your cat. I've had my other cat, Bob, have an episode of vomiting but it cleared right up w/in a few hours and we surmised he ate a bug or something like that.

Avatar f tn As far as IBD (Chronic Colitis) goes, your cat will eventually, hear me on this, she will eventually end up with cancer if you do not act on it soon. Medication does not kill the cause but the symptoms, only for a while, and you want to be able to get to the root of the problem and make it go away. You've seen how she gets better with homemade foods. So, who's to say she will not get cured on raw foods, just like my Abby? Right?
Avatar m tn Are there any definitive lab tests to determine if a cat has worms of any type? I have a cat that has had chronic diarrhea for over a year. I've taken him to several vets. They have ruled out the typical parasites like giardia and even T. Foetus. One vet wanted to give the cat NEMEX (pyrantel pamoate) oral liquid to kill any potential worms, even though none were seen on microscopic examination.
Avatar f tn at first we controled it at home but today he was like worms or something like worms he has also had dirreah with blood in it do you know why this is happening?
1710194 tn?1308931794 Does anyone have experience with this or know the chances or getting worms from your pets? We found out about a week ago that our puppy has round worm and gialdia worms. We have two cats and he HAD to have gotten the worms from the cats because he was dewormed about 100 times during his first few months at basically every vet appointment he was given worm medicine. I should also mention the way he got it from the cats was probably from eating their poop.
Avatar n tn I cannot get my cat to stop waking me up in the middle of the night! She would not stop meow-ing at my face if i don't wake up. What can I do? Even if I close the door, she would not stop meow-ing.Please help.
Avatar f tn I agree with AnnieBrooke..I worked as a vet tech for a year and went through all the training involved...you would have to be ingesting your cats' feces to be getting worms this often, unless they were SOMEHOW getting the worm larvae on their tongues, licking your face, and then you were licking the larvae off of your own face.... this is a very highly unlikely scenario. and the fact that you have so frequently de-wormed you and your husband is cause for concern....
Avatar f tn Hello my 12 yo cat has lost half her weight vomiting with diarrhea containing partially formed stool. Her stomach makes a symphony of gurgling noises. Vet did blood tests and physical exam and everything was normal. He couldn't get fecal sample treated her for worms with no improvement. She eats constantly, drinks a large amount of water but is losing weight and becoming weak. We already spent $200 trying to diagnose her ailment and I'm at a loss as to solutions.
658901 tn?1403814634 yes you will need to do them all at once or the treated cat will pick them up again from the untreated cat and you'll have a never ending cycle..... You don't have to take each one to the Vet either, just get the medication and give it yourself, costs a heck of alot to be bringing each one in for a separate appointment...I'm assuming this is in pill form???
2074741 tn?1331880740 my cat keeps panting and has absolutely no energy. he is very limp and weak and will not hold his head up. will not eat drink and is drooling. his eyes are very glassy and watering bad. what could this be?

10707428 tn?1415569790 My puppy had worms in last pregnancy and me and my husband were treated as a precaution. I was in the third trimester but the pharmacist said it was safe to take.

Avatar f tn So my female cat Nemaura has had intestinal parasites for a very long time. It seems to be on and off, the vet said it was tape worms based on the description I told them. I have gotten fecal tests several times and it always comes back negative, so when my cat poops there's nothing in the poop. But if it sits for a couple of days there are hundreds of little white worms squirming around in her feces.
Avatar m tn re in a cycle where you could be needing to deworm the cat six times a year. The life cycle of tapeworms is that they will show up two months after infestation and start to be a problem for kitty after that, so (though I don't do mine that often) you really *could* be justified in worming that frequently. Deworming for roundworms, on the other hand, is often just a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
