My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

My doctor is (strongly) recommending that I get allergy shots (Rush immunotherapy). I have allergies and allergic asthma...I sorta take a lot of medication to control both the allergies and asthma. From the information my doctor gave me, it seems like a good idea...decrease medication usage and symptoms, keep the cat, etc. I've looked up allergy shots on the Internet and it seems like all I see is how people have had bad reactions to the injections.
I was told with my first they don't develop allergies until the age of 1 or 2 yrs. I can't remember which. It's been 5 yrs ago lol. Having a cat will actually help build up their immune system.
I am waiting for a test result to see if I have Hpylori, I am allergic to the antibiotics suggested but okay with amoxicillin, can it be cured with this anti biotic (alone) and zantac as I'm also a rare person and allergic to ppi's?!? What are my options? I'm so tired of this pain and very worried!

I was so frustrated, I went to the ENT. He told me that allergies may be part of the problem but most of my problem can be attributed to GERD. He prescribed me prilosec 40 mg. This helped a little for a while but now the scratchy throat has returned. At the advice of a pharmacist, I was told to try Zantac, not everyday but I have tried it for the past 72 hours and I'm going to not take it tomorrow since it's not good to mix two acid blockers. But nothing is helping.

My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions.
Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.

Usually if the cat has food allergies, they will scratch around their neck, top of their head and possibly around their face. I'm so confused! My cat has allergies, and the vet has given her steroids, but that only helps for a little bit and I don't want to keep giving her that. I got out a healthy alternative book for cats and it says to give her garlic, and for her to breathe eucalyptus oil. I looked online at other sources which say garlic and eucalyptus oil are toxic to cats. I don't know what to do! I don't want to kill my cat, but she needs some relief! How do I know whats the truth?

Symptoms are - acidic horrible taste in my mouth as what started this, occaisonal mucous in throat that makes me cough, iron belly with slight occaisonal burning. Started taking Pantaloc and than Zantac. Pantaloc caused me to run to the bathroom. Zantac seems better but doesn't really do much for the acid taste in the mouth and rarely helps the stomach. Endoscopy was doen to confirm the gastritis.
I guess what I really want to know is.....the acidic taste or coating in the mouth....
I have a cat that is almost 18 years old. He has always been a scar that hides from everyone. He has been hanging out with us and around the dogs and is really stuffy. He has a lot of snot in his nose, it is hard for him to breathe, he gags and coughs and has runny eyes. My husband just thinks he is old with allergies but I'm concerned. I dissolve his food in water and crush it up and he drinks and eats fine. Not sure what to do? Can I give him something for the allergies?
