I will try look for this ONG.

Hi Kiki, My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions. Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.

Our 17 yr old cat has a lot of phlegm that drips out of his mouth when he eats. Also, whenever he starts purring, he makes a loud rattling sound, has to open his mouth to breathe, and is so uncomfortable he paces around until the rattling stops. We can stop him by blowing at his mouth when he inhales or tipping him upside down. As a result he no longer wants us to pet him or hold him, which is awful for all of us. He was hit by a car at the age of 4 and his head/throat is slightly askew.

My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

I have allergies too and I have asthma. I wish I could tell you when you feel better and feel normal again. You said you had the severe reaction over a week ago. Glad to hear that you are feeling quite a bit better. My best guess would be that it will be a gradual process of feeling better. I am glad you are now carrying a new epipen and a medical bracelet. I have had cats my whole life and they usually have slept in my bed at one time or the other. Since losing my beloved cat in Hurricane Dennis I haven't had another cat in 3years. I had my appendix removed last August. I mentioned that because of the mystery purpose of the appendix in the human body. I recently acquired a new 7wk old kitten and for the first week I had it,I showed no signs of an allergy.

The fat lip also is commonly secondarily infected with bacteria, so I would recommend a 2-3 week course of antibiotics if not already done. The three types of allergies are parasite (fleas, mites), food allergy, and pollen/dust allergies. If your cat is already on a good flea control such as Advantage or Revolution, then parasites are less likely.

It would be impossible for us to diagnose your cat, one because we are not doctors and two, a cat needs to be seen and tested for accurate diagnosis. Will be awaiting your post on the outcome.

So My cat has these scabs on his neck. I just found out a month ago he has feline acne. I switched to ceramic bowls and he has done so much better. No scabs on his chin or mouth, but now he has large scabs on his neck. I switched food to see if that would help. I am pretty sure he doesn't have flees. I check regularly. Is there anything i can do. I am taking him to the vet in a week, but would like advice in the meen time.

I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.

I was told with my first they don't develop allergies until the age of 1 or 2 yrs. I can't remember which. It's been 5 yrs ago lol. Having a cat will actually help build up their immune system.

My cat does the same thing. I've had her looked at and they kept saying it was probably allergies. She also gets a weepy eye from time to time and I have to get an ointment to put in her eye. This last time we decided to try antibiotics in case it was some sort of viral bacteria or something. I've heard herpes in cats can cause these type symptoms too. You might want to get that checked out. Otherwise, it's probably just allergies.

I'm a 20 y/o female 140lb.. no history of obesity, smoking, vaping, drugs, drinking, asthma or allergies and I haven't had any recent respiratory illnesses. I do have a history of anxiety and panic attacks. In the past 3 or so weeks I've had problems breathing on and off. My husband and I both have pet allergies, but he's never experienced anything this severe before. So now we're not sure what the cause is. My doctor checked my neck and looked down in my throat and said I was perfectly normal. I posted a question like this on yahoo answers with exact symptoms and they ALL said it was just swollen lymph nodes. It went away for awhile but KIND OF came back. My mom used to work at a hospital and she said it could actually take SEVERAL months for my lymph nodes to go down. I have allergies. It first felt really weird to yawn but then in my neck, on my lymph nodes, it started to hurt a little.

She complains every day and wakes up crying during the night that her throat and ears hurt her. Could this be allergies? we have a dog and a cat in the house. We need some answers im tired of seeing her in pain.
