387767 tn?1345872027 PS another thought ,the cat maybe bored as its in all day and sleeps and 24 hours sleeping is too much to ask of any animal, so tell your son to play some games with it, they love the little cat balls and toys maybe it would settle the cat for the night if it played more.

531835 tn?1215615037 Thats great except I have to have the litter box and everything in my bedroom and can not put it anywhere else becasue I share my apartment. Is there no hope in figuring out a way to get around this. I am hearing that even if I clean everything top to bottom, wash the cats, wash all the bedding, and have a heppa filter he will still probably have a reaction. Does anyone have any ideas?
1590008 tn?1297040041 just read all the site and see what you think, can also be inhaled allergies associated with the new apartment.....do you use different chemicals such as room sprays, hairsprays, cologne, candles, cleaners? any of these can cause allergies, people start sneezing but with cats it manifests itself on their skin and they began to ITCH...try reducing all chemicals that you can. http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/overgrooming.
Avatar f tn Five cats in a 2-bedroom apartment who don't go outside is, well, a few cats. Has anyone honestly told you how your apartment smells or how much cat hair is there? A person's nose gets used to smells after a while and can't tell how much scent is there -- and people with a lot of cats often wind up living in a place where the catbox can be smelled, except they are accustomed to it so they don't smell it.
Avatar n tn Its hard enough to keep dust in the air to a minimum, cat hair and cat dander, its even harder. But how do you put your cat out of your apt.? Is there anywhere temporary it could stay until the baby is at least a few months old? If your baby were to develop any kind of allergy, the cat, of course, would be the first suspect.
Avatar f tn Good day. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! If you take an allergy test to see if you are allergic to cats and dogs and the results come back negative--according to the results you are not allergic to cats/dogs--can you still get an asthma epsiode from being near a cat/dog? Also does space of dwelling having anything to do with getting asthma from a pet allergy? Personal background: some doctors say I am asthmatic, some say I am not. In 2000 I was orginially diagnosed with mild asthma.
Avatar f tn I moved into an apartment that had black mold in November of 2009 (obviously I wasn’t aware of this until after I moved in). About a week after moving in I started to feel sick and came down with what I thought was a virus. I had a rash under my armpits and was getting severe hot flashes every day at the same time every day. My body would get so hot and I would get itchy. When I scratched I would welt up and become bright red. And I don’t mean the normal redness from scratching.
Avatar f tn Hello! I've had problems with my eyes being red for a long time now. They're not a lot red, but they're not normal either. They're only red in the eye's white part. I had a severe reaction to a friend's clothes detergent once, she had a really cheap detergent from canada (she visited me where I live here in Sweden). I got something close to an eye infection from her detergent, and I got it both times she visited me.
Avatar n tn Hi, Calm down and just let your cat know where the food, water and litter are. I assure you that in your cat's own time he/she will begin to feel less fear and come around. I had to take in my daughter's cat into my house with 2 dogs and a cat. Her cat stayed as far away as possible for months, and when we saw her on the stairs and we reached to try to pet her she swiped at us.
1006070 tn?1250399556 so. unfortunatly, i've been a horrible mom to mr. miles davis. he's been through two moves already this year -- one in a car for two and a half hours, and will be going through another one in a week or two in the transition of us moving out of state. i've also moved him into an apartment where another cat lived -- and once he got used to that cat, and even had a little crush on her, my roommate had to give her up.
10153131 tn?1411325469 I couldn't be happier :-) I'm even more excited I got to tag along my cat Grover.....
440120 tn?1211724496 I have had cats my whole life and they usually have slept in my bed at one time or the other. Since losing my beloved cat in Hurricane Dennis I haven't had another cat in 3years. I had my appendix removed last August. I mentioned that because of the mystery purpose of the appendix in the human body. I recently acquired a new 7wk old kitten and for the first week I had it,I showed no signs of an allergy.
Avatar f tn Needless to say I had to pack up again so my kitchen could be remodeled. In the meantime, men were coming in and out with new appliances. My cat had to spend the day away from our apartment the day of the remodel. Now life is settling down in June. But now my cat is licking his leg and there is a bald spot and I am concerned that this could be from all the stress we have been through and wonder if he even picks up my sadness and stress from all this upheavel. Thanks for your help.
1116122 tn?1268496794 The day before every allergy shot, my cat gets a super-duper-cat-dander-shampoo-bath.
541150 tn?1306033843 She will take the cat to the vet on Monday and she currently has the cat in her apartment. She came to my house for a little bit to get some tips on how to care for a cat. I gave her a scratching post and some toys. She got a litter box for the kitty and some food. The cat used the box as if she was a pro. I am very happy with this. That is one lucky kitty.
Avatar n tn 2 are brothers (Clapton and Titus) that I have had since they were 6 weeks old (now 5 years old). The third cat (Aeon) was a new addition in summer 2007, we received him at 6 weeks (now 1.5 years old). Titus has always been more scared of noises, strange people, new places, etc...whereas Clapton is very easy-going and will hang out with anyone. Aeon has always been the most aggressive cat, but has his moments of kindness.
Avatar n tn When I went home I played with my cat and the allergies returned. What could have caused this and should I adopt a new cat if I somehow now have cat allergies?
1222635 tn?1366396286 My husband and I live with my parents, and brought the cat with us when we moved in. We have potty-trained her, and she uses a dog door that is installed to go in and out as she pleases. This is wonderful, because there is no stench of a litterbox...which i HATE. Only problem is, she keeps bringing in animals. She has brought in two live, baby bunnies, a HUGE toad, bugs, moles, rats, and then today a bird. It's breaking my heart.
Avatar m tn We have a dog. The apartment has all brand new carpeting that was put in before we moved in, new paint, new flooring, new applications, new roofing. Prednisone works to reduce the amount of rashing but never rids it. Saw an Allergy specialist who told me I'm allergic to Rag Weed, Kentucky Blue Grass, Dust Mites, Cat Dander. What we have done: Put new, expensive air purifiers in every single room. Put shower head filters up incase of hard water.
Avatar f tn Thirdly, if you have fleas outside, and your cat goes in and out, then you have fleas in your house. If you cat is allergic to fleas and is getting sores from flea bites, then she has fleas and is bringing them into the house. If she doesn't have fleas, then the sores are not from flea bites and are most likely from the flea treatments. Either way the solution is to get rid of the fleas in your house, keep you cat indoors, and stop using flea treatments on her.
