My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Today I went for an eye exam and the eye doctor told me I have scars on my right eye caused from fungus from bird or bat droppings. Of course Im freaking out and thinking about walking away and giving it to the bank. Im not saying anything bad about my doctor, I just I have been going to my dr regularly lately for headaches and sinus issues Ive suddenly have. My dr says allergies but I have a hard time accepting that because Im in my 30s and never had this issue before.
Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
Adopted peanut from shleter 6/09. 2 weeks later, noticed lots of sneezing, followed by clear eye discharge. we did terramycin eye ointment for over 3 weeks, no improvement. then the PCR test was done and results were positive for mycoplasma, so we did 3 weeks on doxycycline (cycle ended yesterday). some improvement, but now more sneezing and still some clear eye discharge.

Check for runny eyes, and take them to a vet if they do. I got 2 or 3 eye infections from my cat before the eye doc asked me about pets. The cat's eyes were a little wet, but weren't red or anything. I treated him for an eye infection and his runny eyes stopped and my eye infections stopped coming back.
Allergies have a genetic basis but not always to the same allergen. Two parents with allergies (50% chance of developing allergies), one parent 30%.
It is possible that it is an allergy, however make sure the cat wasn't bathed with anything, I reacted with hives once to the shampoo I used on a puppy at work.

Last night I had some allergy issues. This is not unusual because I have a cat that I'm allergic to.
Anyway, my eyes got all itchy and watery like they do. I put a cold pack on it for a few minutes then took my allergy medicine and went to bed like I've done many times. When I woke up this morning the eye is still more red than normal, it's watery, and it still feels puffy. I know it's not night allergy since the cat doesn't come in the bedroom.
i have so many symptoms of allergies and my entire head is filled with fluid, i can feel it. i hope all this makes sense, as i cannot possible explain everything i am feeling..but sick of air noise in my right ear, and when i move my head it feels like glands swollen and like someone is pulling at the inside of my ears...left ear usually bothers me more then right, although right ear is the ear with air noise, and sometimes it sounds like a watch ticking or keys hitting together..make sense???
Also avoid applying any eye makeup till the symptoms get resolved. Check the date of the eye makeup and if they are too old, then replace it with new one. If there is no visible improvement, antibiotic ointments may need to be prescribed.
