134578 tn?1693250592 One of the moms in my son's school says she puts essential-oil drops on her son's feet for his allergies. She and her husband have asthma and she swears it is helping her son. Anyone every done this, or any other folksy type of treatment, with any noticeable results? My son is allergic to tree pollen, grass pollen, airborne mold, dogs and cats. I'd be delighted to hear about another direction to try besides simply continuing to give him Claritin all his life.
Avatar n tn I'm so confused! My cat has allergies, and the vet has given her steroids, but that only helps for a little bit and I don't want to keep giving her that. I got out a healthy alternative book for cats and it says to give her garlic, and for her to breathe eucalyptus oil. I looked online at other sources which say garlic and eucalyptus oil are toxic to cats. I don't know what to do! I don't want to kill my cat, but she needs some relief! How do I know whats the truth? Help please!!

Avatar f tn Now, add glycerine (a liquid skin softener) and almond oil, which can both be found in the same aisle as the Peppermint oil. Almond oil serves the dual purpose of a skin softening agent, plus, it acts as a carrier oil for the peppermint oil, making it last longer. You can put in a decorated mason jar or ziploc bag and give as gifts at Christmas.
Avatar f tn lavender Is best then use coconut oil during the day and avocado oil at night.
Tbd That is a very interesting question. The two oils that I've read about for lowering cholesterol are lavender oil and clove oil. I am personally not sure how to use them but in my area, it's a bit of a 'rage' and they offer classes at our local hospital on how to use them. Do a search in your area and you may find something like that and certainly at a good health store, you can ask.
1676693 tn?1325747165 -you can make a strong tea using Neem Leaf(NOT THE OIL, never use any form of oil on a cat...neem oil/tea tree oil NO>>) the herb and 1/2 a lemon cook in small amount of water for about 20min than bath kitty in this and leave it on...(or dab on if bathing is a real problem)..warning neem leaf has a very unpleasant smell. a flea treatment for the home is to get some flat pie plates or saucers and add abt 1/4 full of water with a few drops of dish liquid.
Avatar m tn //www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Krill-Oil-60-Softgels/250 the grain free dry food you are feeding still has lots of preservatives and chemicals, if you can possibly switch to a grain free canned food...but do the transition slowly so not to cause a GI upset. I will send you a great site, this Vet knows tons abt cat nutrition. On the right hand side of her article you can click on several links... -transitioning dry food addicts to canned food also -commercial cat food.
Avatar f tn I use something called deep relief essential oil roll on. I carry to work and apply it on my head as soon as I feel it coming on. I'm also a teacher. It takes the edge off the headache as well as the pressure. It's still there but I'm functional. I'm also a chiari sufferer but I'm terrified to have the surgery.
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

Avatar f tn My cat has been itching her neck to scabs and licking herself bald. It started about a year ago. I took her to the vet and the vet tried to tell me it was fleas. She is an indoor cat so she has no fleas. The vet treated her for fleas anyway and it didn't work. She shave her neck to see the scabs before she said it was fleas.

You might also consider adding lecithin to your diet.
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Thanks for the tips and suggestions friends!
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
