Avatar m tn I've had difficulty breathing for 7 months after a bout of bronchitis. Here are my results... Is this asthma, chronic bronchitis?? But my most important question is, could this possibly be EARLY emphysema??It also happened about two weeks after getting a cat.. FVC Pre 6.28 113% Post 6.22 112% FEV1 Pre 4.38 95% Post 4.
Avatar n tn Do you have a good mattress cover to prevent dust mites? I know my asthma is worse when my allergies are acting up. Do you have any food allergies? Have you considered allergy shots for pets, etc? Hopefully this helps. Good luck fellow asthma sufferer!
Avatar f tn My grandma has acute bronchitis and i want to get a cat.Is the cat going to affect my grandma's bronchitis?
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, there may be underlying bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis usually presents with sputum (mucus), esp. in early morning. The other common possibilities are gastro esophageal reflex disease, hyperplastic tonsil, abnormal upper esophageal sphincter function, stress or psychological abnormality causes this sensation due to altered upper esophageal pressure. You may need to undergo endoscopic evaluation, chest radio graph etc.
611067 tn?1458591483 My cat does the same thing. I've had her looked at and they kept saying it was probably allergies. She also gets a weepy eye from time to time and I have to get an ointment to put in her eye. This last time we decided to try antibiotics in case it was some sort of viral bacteria or something. I've heard herpes in cats can cause these type symptoms too. You might want to get that checked out. Otherwise, it's probably just allergies.
Avatar m tn Honey, an upper respitory infection is far less serious than bronchitis, I bet you did have bronchitis, the z-pac(zithromax) brought it down to an URI, A doctor can make an educated guess that your headaches are from stress, but he/she can not know that unless they have ruled out all other posssibilities, have you had a test called a EEG or a CAT scan?? Also you are taking an excessivly high dose of tylenol, you could be harming your liver. Also do you have allergies?
Avatar f tn Chronic bronchitis is caused most often by exposure to airborne pollutants such as cigarette smoke, excessive dust in the air, or chemicals. Bronchitis caused by allergies can also be classified as chronic bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis also can have an asthmatic component. Treatment for chronic bronchitis includes bronchodilators, anti inflammatory drugs, and chest physical therapy for loosening mucus in the lungs.
209987 tn?1451935465 Wow! Thanks for all the responses. Have been too ill to even check on here for a couple of days. No energy whatsoever. Coughed up tons of junk...it's yellow...same color as always...year after year...same time of year. Have been told it's anything from asthma due to allergies, bronchitis, pneumonia, and all other sorts of things over the years. I mostly wheeze and become short of breath at night and first thing in morning.
1232362 tn?1333135406 This might not be the right forum-I do have asthma. My question-for years I've been constantly getting URI, bronchitis, pneumonia a few times. The past year or so I've been getting constant ear inf: fluid in the ears which is quite painful, I don't swim. just throwing it out there-we have 3 cats and I'm the only one who tends the pan-is there any chance this could be a factor? My fiance NEVER gets sick.
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
15559407 tn?1441369521 thought it was bronchitis. Then it evolved to asthma like symptoms during the night. My throat would suddenly close up and I couldn't breathe in or out and in the worst attacks I had to retch several times to clear it. After getting tests in the ER (chest x ray/cat scan) it was thought that GERD was causing the issue. Sure enough I started getting digestive issues and stomach bloating/pain. However I am still not sure that is the cause and keep going back to bronchitis.

Avatar m tn Please Help! My 21 year old son had a bad case of bronchitis over 6 mos. ago, it was cured with antibiotics and prednisone. Now 6 months later, after he has been taken off of my health insurance, he has been experiencing bouts of severe body aches, where he can barely move, fevers, night sweats and alternate cold spells, it goes away for a month or so and comes back.
Avatar n tn whats the different between true allergies and non true allergies
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Thanks for the tips and suggestions friends!
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
Avatar n tn I have allergies and had a history of bronchitis as a teenager, but these allergies have been especially rougher than usual. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn My eleven year old cat Pebbles has had cold symptoms all winter and she cannot seem to get rid of them. She had bronchitis a few months ago and had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks. The bronchitis went away but the cold symptoms will not go away. The vet has tried 2 different kinds of antibiotics, but it hasn't worked. Is there anything else out there that I can try?
Avatar f tn my son has allergies which he treats OTC. He has had a chronic non productive cough for about 3 weeks using sudafed, mucinex with no help. Could he have asthma? Stubborn and won't go to a doctor. Any advice would be helpful.
Avatar f tn For the past 2 months I've been having a sore throat due to post nasal drip, nose and ears congested and now I noticed I have white mucus or something on my tonsil area. I've been to 4 different doctors they all say it's allergies but nothing is helping me. Tried 2 different antibiotics I feel tired and I don't know what else to do anymore. I was with this guy who was sick he had bronchitis so I'm wondering if he got me sick ... anyone's suggestions would help a lot.
2169449 tn?1358489923 I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.
Avatar f tn over the next couple weeks i started getting vertigo whenever it felt like my ear was starting to open it would last 2 hours to 10 hours, not getting any answers from my doctor, i went to the emergency rm.
Avatar f tn I was told with my first they don't develop allergies until the age of 1 or 2 yrs. I can't remember which. It's been 5 yrs ago lol. Having a cat will actually help build up their immune system.
Avatar f tn For a young person at age 33 to have the wheezing, chest congestion, chest discomfort and recurrent bronchitis that you have experienced is very worrisome. You at least have chronic bronchitis, may have asthma and may be developing the permanent lung damage that leads to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). You must stop “torturing” your lungs. I urge you to seriously consider smoking cessation and suggest that you contact the national quit line at (800) QUIT NOW (784-8669).
