I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.

I have allergies im wondering if i can buy certain pills or what do you do when u get them??

My cat has allergies that cause skin breakouts, I've done the steroid route and this works for awhile, now using a change in food and omega 3's and so far he has only had one small breakout that lasted only 2 days and didn't go on to become open and raw sores. My question is, I've read that sometimes benadryl at .25mg per pound can be successful in cats. Is this also avail in topical form rather than using systemically?

Category A and Category B are safe in pregnancy. Benadryl falls in cat B and sage in all trimesters. I am in first trimester, been having cold congestion for more than a week and taking it.my doc okayed.

My cat does the same thing. I've had her looked at and they kept saying it was probably allergies. She also gets a weepy eye from time to time and I have to get an ointment to put in her eye. This last time we decided to try antibiotics in case it was some sort of viral bacteria or something. I've heard herpes in cats can cause these type symptoms too. You might want to get that checked out. Otherwise, it's probably just allergies.

I can't take benadryl either. I take loratadine, it's generic clariton and works perfectly for me and my dr said it's fine!

sensitive commonly to a preservative or ingredient in dry kibble type food. grain allergies are common in cats and most cat foods are full of unnecessary grains just b/c they are 'cheap' fillers for the manufacturer, they do absolutely nothing for the diet!!! there are some 'grain free' diets on the market that may be a worth a trial. EVO, Wellness and Natures Variety are a few. cats can also suffer from environmental allergies....such as what you decide with your kitty.....

My dr said I could take Benadryl for my allergies. I haven't yet but I'm considering it tonight because I'm so miserable and I know it would help a lot and I could get a good night sleep. Has anyone else taken it while pregnant. I'm absolutely sure my dr wouldn't have said it was ok if it were the slighted bit questionable but im still hesitant.

yea my son has allergies with pickles and red dye so i give him bendryl but he also has steriods to take as well so the bendryl will do the trick

She said that what I had read online about giving oral Benadryl to cats for their allergies is correct, but my instincts to not give it to her without talking to the vet first were right on, too. She wants me to use Zyrtec for the cat right now and told me how much to give her. Since this seems like the conservative approach, I trust what the vet says, although I do think I'll hold back on giving her any oral medication 'til I see how well she does without it.

I take benadryl every night for my allergies. I don't know if I shouldn't be taking it everynight. I wake up with allergies. I was wondering if there is some other over the counter drug that works better and would not interfere with albuterol and prevacid.

I have no intention of getting rid of my cat, however, since this is the best my allergies have been around pets in years. Other than Zyrtec, are there allergy shots covered by insurance that I could take, or other allergy medications that are prescription? My insurance company stopped covering Allegra, which was perfect (bummer). Thanks for your help in advance.
