Carvedilol and lisinopril

Common Questions and Answers about Carvedilol and lisinopril

coreg

Avatar m tn Lisinopril and Carvedilol are blood pressure medications (lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, Carvedilol is a beta blocker) and should not have any effect on your lipid profile. Both are important medications for those who have suffered a heart attack and undergone stenting. In addition to these medications, you should be on some sort of lipid medication (a "statin" such as atorvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvasatin, lovastatin, etc).
Avatar f tn I got sick a few years ago and it wekened my heart. I take Coreg(Carvedilol) and Lisinopril. I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
Avatar f tn 5 mg had problems with that also, the problems that I was having was my BP would go down to 95/55 and I would get so dizzy and lightheaded all day long and was unable to live a normal life, so was put on Carvedilol 3.125 mg, I am doing better with this except that I have asthma and people who have bronchial disease shouldn't take Carvedilol it has a tendency to weaken the lungs, I have been having a terrible time with my asthma as of late, it could be the meds.
Avatar m tn She also takes a high dosage of Lisinopril and Carvedilol and it seems like she is getting weaker at times. The dosage for Lisinopril is 40mg and 25mg for Carvedilol She has been taking this medication for almost 2 years now, but now she has become weaker and is more nervous now, have anxiety attacks. Is the dosage too high? Or is there anyway to reduce the side effects of the medication?? Thanks...
Avatar f tn I take Lisinopril 10mg, furosemide 40mg and Klor-con potassium. I have just been prescribed Spironolactone 25mg and Carvedilol 6.25.

Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
1210142 tn?1266077031 I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up. Then my PCP substitute it for Losartan- have been taking this drug/25 mg/ for a week and feel extremely dizzy and nauseated. The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear.
Avatar f tn I have had trouble sleeping but I always attributed this to my couch potato activities during the day but when I'm active I sleep well. So the obvious question is, are you sure it's the lisinopril? As far as "time of day" I can only speak for my self... I take Carvedilol at 7pm, Lisinopril at 8pm, go to bed around 10pm with Simvastatin, and sleeping by 10:30, 11pm. So there's 2hrs before bed time and a third before sleeping and I'll sleep all night.

Avatar n tn I also have POTS which causes orthostatic intolerance anyway and I feel maybe the carvedilol is worsening those symptoms as well. I want to do what is best for my prognosis but I also need to be able to live a life, not just sit or lay around all day. I've been unable to work for seven months. Is 6.25 mg twice daily sufficient to help my EF without Lisinopril?
Avatar f tn m taking carvedilol, lisinopril, digoxin, medication for my cholesterol and diabetes 2 and also aspirin and cod liver oil . I would like to continue with my exercise program and don't know if it's allowed. It's not hard, just walking.
Avatar m tn hi i was wondering how your doing now and what meds they have you on now my ef did go from 10to20 in sep 2015 i was changed from bumetinide to spironolactone in oct currently taking 25mg of spironolactone 12.
Avatar n tn m 58, and had a heart attack due to blockage in 2003. I have 2 arterial stents in the same spot (2003 and again in 2014) and 2 weeks ago I admitted myself to the ER with arm and chest pain. They did a cardiac cath and didn't find any blockage over 50%. I was released later that evening with an appointment to see my cardiologist. My Ejection Fraction is at 52% due to damage to my heart in 2003. I am taking: 6.
Avatar f tn I was put on a low salt diet, and a daily baby aspirin regimen plus 25mg Spirinolactone, 10 mg Lisinopril once a day, and 6.25 mg Carvedilol twice a day. Echocardiogram in April showed a slight improvement of EF from less than 20% in December, to 25-30%. I was advised to get a bi-v icd, which was done May 15. The device has been checked twice since release from hospital, everything is working extremely well, no complications.
907968 tn?1292622204 Since both started getting bad about the same time and just shortly after starting Carvedilol I can easily make the connection. However, they could be unrelated to carvedilol and the timing could be a coincidence. Before I make an appointment to have a chat with my Dr. I'd like to hear from anyone that has had these symptom and that were known to be directly connected to carvedilol. Assuming there are none here, Does anyone have any info to share about these?
Avatar m tn They initially wanted to put me on Lisinopril, but I was on that previously and I had a terrible, nagging cough the entire time. I've read that ACE Inhibitors are preferable to ARBs, though, when it comes to CHF. Should I try another ACE, or would all of them be likely to cause a cough since the Lisinopril did? Or is the Cozaar good enough? (Some places even suggest taking an ACE along with an ARB...is that a good idea?) Blood Thinners: Should I be taking one?
Avatar n tn Meds are aspirin (81), protonix (40), HCTZ (25), Lisinopril (10-20) sertraline (50) and now the 6.25 carvedilol.
Avatar f tn After spending 8 days in the hospital getting my heart back into sinus rhythm (3 cardioversions + Tikosyn) I am back to Afib (off the Tikosyn) and have a 'normal' heart rate of 100 now. I presently take Lisinopril, Digoxin, Warfarin, and Carvedilol. Is 'my present condition' truly something that should not cause concern to me. Isn't being in constant AFib causing my chances of a stroke to rise considerably???
Avatar m tn I was started on 3.125 mg 2x/d 4 months ago. also lisinopril and effient and lipitor. all due to an MI and stent in RCA. Dr took me off lisinopril due to dry cough about 6 weeks ago and upped coreg to 6.25 mg. cough resolved but I have been having early morning rapid heart beat (wakes me up) in recent weeks and my tinnitus has become much worse. My upper back pain which started while on drugs is also worse since the dosage went up.
907968 tn?1292622204 an update.. I did start walking again but only because the weather improved. First time out it was a bit hard but the next time out it was easier, and easier. I'm still a couch potato during the day and take my walk shortly after dinner. Had a blood draw this Friday (11-6-09) for cholesterol and a couple other unrelated things... Item...........Before....After (USA numbers) Cholesterol....130...136 LDL..................80......83 HDL.................42......20 Trig..................
Avatar m tn I had a similar experience with head pressure. It turned out that The drugs I was taking (carvedilol, lisinopril, simvastatin) don't work well when taken simultaneously. Once I spread these out everything was fine. Are you taking any new drugs?
Avatar m tn recommendation is medical therapy for heart failure only symptoms were shortness of breath at night before going to er. now on aspirin, lisinopril, carvedilol, bumetanide. its been three weeks and i have less energy now than when i went to er. any info would be very appreciated.
Avatar m tn I quit taking carvedilol and my statin as I thought I had my heart problems knocked, and soon afterwards, even though my cholesterol, diabetes and weight was normal, I had to have six more stents, a pacemaker, and eventually bypass surgery. Today at age 72 I'm back taking the drugs, but I also have Congestive Heart Failure, and believe me, taking carvedilol and Plavix was much easier. I have to sleep in a chair because my lungs fill with water.
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
