epipen

Avatar f tn t been on a plane post op, but was on one prior...and no issues on my ride there, but coming home I was having sinus issues and teh landings were brutal..... I am sure u will be fine...
Avatar m tn I’m not bothered by any other foods in that same food family, but the spring/green onions and chives cause my tongue to swell, turn red, and become very sore as well as make my throat hurt and make swallowing difficult. I’m considering carrying an epipen, but since nothing else like onions, leeks, or garlic bothers me I’m unsure. I’d really like to know more about your reaction because it could save my life! Please feel free to email me at ***@****. Thank you for posting on here!
Avatar n tn I was in the hospital for two days while they worked on me. The doctor said the epipen saved my life. He also said if you have pvc's the epipen poses little threat as the allergic reaction is much more serious. When I stuck myself my heart rate shot up and i could feel the pvc's jumping. Most of the time in some situations epinephrine is used to save people from arrhythmia. I would go with the epipen and feel safe with it.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar f tn There was a scary ordeal in Colorado on Friday, where a private plane carrying Ann Romney was forced to make an emergency landing after the cabin filled with smoke. The incident was reportedly caused by an electrical fire, and fortunately, no one was hurt. While I'm sure it was upsetting for everyone involved, I'm not sure what to make of Mitt Romney's reaction to the incident (thanks to E.R. for the tip). "I appreciate the fact that she is on the ground, safe and sound.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar n tn Hi, This has happened to me 4 or 5 times... you may have "vasovagal syncope" (situational fainting) and it's likely related to the low oxygen on the airplane... I usually get it after I've fallen asleep for a few minutes, on the way up (I've not gotten it on descent)-- you breathe more shallow when you sleep, so get even less oxygen (and it's low on airplanes to begin with). I wake up feeling sick, get up, and pass out near the bathroom (never usually actually sick).
1365271 tn?1277918074 I want to know the regulations for carrying on pills when getting on an airplane. Will they just go right thru the security check, or will security have to pull it out of my purse and verify it and all that?
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar f tn That is impossible on an airplane. has anybody out there experienced it and done anything about it. I do not have a heart condition, or thrombosis. My blood pressure is normally a little below the norm. The limited oxygen in the plane further lowers my pressure, but what can I do to prevent the fainting spells? After I come to I have a vomiting spell that lasts for hours. When I finally get to sleep on a bed, I sleep for hours and then wake up feeling perfectly ok.
Avatar n tn Thus, even if you follow all the rules, if you have got airsick before, the mere fact you are on an airplane can precipitate another event. The good thing is, after time, conditioned responses eventually disappear.
630466 tn?1222379798 Hi, I have to go on an airplane for a few hours, to my destination and back. I don't know if I'm pregnant, I doubt it=( But if I am, will the pressure cause a miscarriage?
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn I'll be 4 months on this coming up Saturday june.18th 2015 and we all can tell I'm carrying high. Has anyone hard if you carry high it's a boy or a girl and the same as if you carry low and it come out true?
230262 tn?1316645934 d suggest you get a pediatric Epipen. Personally I keep 2 on hand. You should have 1 at school for him and one either in your purse or at home. He should have one available at all times. These allergies accelerate quickly. Check for dosage with your doctor, but you can also use benadryl for allergic reactions. I'm so sorry this happened to your children. These stings hurt horribly! And right now with school starting, you all have enough on your plate. Good luck at the clinic tonight.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn I have noticed a garlic smell on my hands in the last few weeks, I take levothyroxin for thyroid condition, the only medication I take. I recently am having allergic reactions to food. My dr. has prescribed a epipen to use in case of emergency, since I had a bad reaction to something which we haven't pinpointed as of yet about 10 days ago. I am beside myself trying to figure out what I am allergic to and why I'm suffering from so many different reactions to my system.
4592444 tn?1362029703 They all seem to have the same theme to them. I am at the beach (last night I was hiding in some sort of airplane hanger with a bunch of other people) and a huge storm is coming. We all try to get somewhere safe, but the waves start carrying people off. Each time, I dream that one or both of my children are with me. Last night it was my daughter. I wasn't pregnant with my son in the dream. She and the other small children kept walking off towards the beach.

Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
