Avatar f tn Hello- I'm new here and wondering if there is anyone out there to help me. My father was diagnosed with ALS 4 wks after my daughter was born in July of '05. I went into extreme depression (sarafem and xanax helped). I had severe anxiety that actually comes and goes. I only use 1 xanax at night maybe twice a week for sleeping purposes. I am currently not on any antidepressants. My question is I starting in September I the anxiety came back and got so much worse during the holidays.

649848 tn?1534633700 Nope... I'm saying THIS wolf is not native to Wyoming. The sub species that was introduced to Yellowstone National Park is 25%-$30% larger than the indigenous species. The introduces species preferred prey is Caribou, and there hasn't been Caribou in this part of the country in eons.
Avatar n tn My doctor has finally decided on blood work to check for parathyroid and calcium levels. He said they came back in normal range. But my 24 hour urine was extremely high in calcium. I don't take in a lot of calcium. So he put me on a no calcium and low sodium diet for a week then repeat all the tests. He doesn't seem to think the parathyroid is the problem but I have all the symptoms that go along with it.

Avatar f tn The threat to the Great Lakes depends on how many have access to the lakes, which depends on how many are in the Chicago waterway right now," said John Rogner, assistant director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. But environmental groups said the discovery leaves no doubt that other Asian carp have breached barriers designed to prevent them from migrating from the Mississippi River system to the Great Lakes and proves the government needs to act faster.

Avatar m tn My fiance had stomache/bowel pain this morning. The pain is gone but he is having black diarrhea frequently today. He does drink everyday, but, I don't know if that is some how related. We also recently moved from Virginia to Chicago so I don't know if it's travelers diarrhea. He doesn't have medical insurance. What should he do?
Avatar f tn I did a lot of research on where to go in Chicago and as luck would have it, the Univ. of Chicago is where the Vertex trials have been. I had heard about Dr. Jensen from a nurse I know who has hepatitis C. I had also seen him a couple times in Chicago Magazines yearly "Top Docs" issues. (He was actually on the cover of their last "Top Docs"issue.) Dr. Jensen has a great CV and I knew the first time I saw him with my page of questions that I was in the right place.
Avatar f tn Magnesium gets me running to the bathroom. I too have Crohn's and have been searching for a calcium supplement I could take & tolerate. However, most of them sent me running to the restroom...as if I needed that !! After discussing it with the doctor, he mentioned to check if the products had magnesium in them, if so avoid them as much as possible because it is a natural laxative. I think utilaman has a good point, but you do need to see a doc.
Avatar n tn Here in the Chicago area, only the University of Illinois @Chicago has such offerings, but they are not highly rated. Neither Northwestern, Rush, or U of Chicago appear to have well recognized ophthalmology specialty services, according to my searches. But I'm going by published ratings for the ophthalmology specialty. Does Mayo have a referral service? Thanks in advance.

Avatar f tn Interesting thing about this earthquake was that its epicenter was in Elgin. Usually, an earthquake that Chicago feels will be from the New Madrid fault or the Wabash fault. Historically -- late pre-cambrian (900 million years ago) the continent started to split apart in what is today far southern Illinois. The split never completed, but giant rift valleys formed. Later they eroded away or filled with the passing ages.

Avatar m tn I am a smoker, no drugs, no alcohol, mainly wild game diet (salmon, halibut, caribou, moose) 5ft1inch 140lbs. It started about a month ago, with just the feeling of pressure, like gas. It progessed to being mildly painful, and constant. I then started palpatating, and found a sensitive swollen area, about the length of my little finger, just below my ribs, which I could move to the outside of my ribs, by taking a deep breath, and stretching my abdomen.
