Avatar m tn My question would be what is the next step and course of treatment. Prior to transplant I had two stress tests and both showed same results...no difference in vasculation and EF of 50-55%. I had quad bypass in 1991 after mild heart attack. Transplant threw me into full blown type 2 diabetes.
Avatar f tn Hi, I live in the UK and a 55 year old female, I have a family history of dilated cardiomyopathy & a daughter who is post heart transplant. 1822306 tn?1330522629 I had a cardiac stress test before my trial. Even though my trial is all oral drugs, the rescue treatment is SOC and they wanted to make sure I could withstand it. My PCP had his doubts about ordering it through my home clinic because the EKG did not provide markers that it should be done and he was concerned the insurance might not pay for it.
Avatar n tn My mother recently completed a cardiac stress test on a treadmill in which she was taken to an extremely high level of endurance. When she reached her max, and was ready to stop, her cardiologist asked for an additional minute - which she did give. Following the treadmill exercise she was tested as normal and was eventually released. When she emerged from the test center, the whole left side of her face was distorted and sagging - like she had experienced a T.I.A. (mini stroke).

Avatar m tn Ok I had a nuclear and regular stress test seems I have different stories.here are some results..says LEFT VENTRICULAR is slightly dilated ?? I exercise very hard 6 days a week being a pro athlete 38yrs old,and I do have GRAVES DISEASE,only on 5mg of TAPAZOL.SO AM I in any danger ?? not sure what to do ? Avatar n tn for pre-testing for ablation scan showed alot of structual damage to the heart and my mitral valve has adhered to the back of my haert so they scrapped the ablation procedure because they said it wouldn`t improve my condition. My EF is 13-15 percent and my vo2 stress test came back with 14. Do you feel that I should be put on a transplant list if I qualify ?
212161 tn?1599427282 Overall, a nuclear stress test is about 85 - 90% accurate.Your chance of a cardiac event after a normal nuclear stress test is about 1.62% per year for the next 10 years, better than a sampling of the general public. Normally, a blockage will show up once it hits approx 70% occluded. I know you read about people that have a stress test that is normal and drop dead the next day, don't get too worked up about that.
Avatar n tn Just had a Thallium Stress Test as a precautionary measure due to family medical history. The stress test results showed an evidence of ischemia of basal septal wall. Cardiologist is recommending catheterization. Is it necessary? Some doctors say absolutely not. Use aggressive medical treatments to control cholesterol and blood pressure with 80 mg. aspirin daily. Since doctors opinion is mixed on catheterization, I am not sure whether to have catheterization done or not.
Avatar f tn I am getting a nuclear stress test done on Monday. I wish that they could have done more testing at the time however the cardiologist seemed frustrated and angry, maybe not with me. I am really unsure why, actually. I'm very concerned and it will be good to get to that bottom of it. I have increased my fluid intake. Thanks for your response.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone out there has had a positive exercise stress test and a negative stress echo test. My cardiologist said since my stress echo was negative there is a low probability of me having heart disease. I have been have chest pain with left arm and jaw discomfort on and off for 1 1/2 weeks. I am a non smoker, no high blood pressures, no diabetes, and good cholesterol. I am a 43 year old female. My father had his first heart attack at 50 and died at 60 so I have a family history.
Avatar n tn Good morning! I attended to the ER on Tuesday evening after a strange sensation in my chest (i am female and 41). I would describe it as a light pulling sensation. Defintely not pain but odd nonetheless. I then panicked, broke out into a sweat and went to the ER. The ER Dr. did all of the appropriate troponin testing x 2 (8 hrs apart) as well as 3 ECG's and everything came back normal. He then suggested going for a treadmill stress test which I did today.
Avatar m tn My recent nuclear cardiac stress test shows the following results. What does this mean? Is this something to worry about? • Myocardial perfusion images show a mild inferior and Lateral scar versus artifact. The post stress left ventricle normal in size • Post-stress ejection fraction is 87 %. Global left ventricular systolic function is normal • Exercise capacity 13 METS.
Avatar m tn My primary care physician is sending me for a cardiac stress test. I was debating on whether I should ask for a cardiopulmonary stress test instead. I have difficulty breathing and shortness of breath. Also, I have low blood oxygen (High Hemoglobin and High Hematocrit) and low carbon dioxide. I know the cardiopulmonary stress test measures gas exchange during exercise. I just don't want to have to do both tests at some point, if there is nothing wrong with my heart.
