Avatar n tn It is possible, but you will need to make a big change to your diet. The amount of calories you would require to intake daily to lose that amount would be around 1000. But that can be dangerous, especially if your daily intake so far was around 2000+. Start of by calculating the amount of protein you require per day, cut out the carbohydrates and try to eat more healthy fats. You will still end up eating carbohydrates trough vegetables and fruit, but not trough bread, pasta etc.

I give myself about 21 units of insulin per day--13 units of Lantus and a sliding scale of Humalog between 6-10 units--depending on how many carbohydrates I have eaten--So, it takes me about 2-3 months to use a bottle of Humalog and the Lantus would take longer, but I must open a new bottle every month for consistency issues. Does that help?

In high glycaemic index foods, the carbohydrates are broken down very quickly, and have bigger impact on blood sugar than lower GI foods. Ie. beans and bagel. Bagel is high GI and will have more impact on blood sugar than beans, which are low GI - even considering they have the same amount of total carbs.

She will be nauseous and have a tummy ache first thing in the morning for 4 or 5 days in a row.....then she will be fine for 2 or 3 weeks. Some times she will vomit. Within a few hour she is fine. No fever or really any other symptoms. She has seen a GI specialist, and her upper GI looked fine. She was perscribed an antacid, but I haven't seen an improvement.

Avatar f tn I see the confusion If I understand you, you think Levemir is used for carbohydrates. Levemir is a basle insulin, meaning it works for 24 hours. Like a background insulin. the amount of Levemir taken has nothing to do with the amount of carbohydrates (carbs) you eat. That type of insulin is called a bolis insulin, like Apedra, Novalog... that insulin is taken according to how many carbs are eating and YOUR particular carb to insulin ratio.

Avatar f tn i started takin hydrocodone 2-3 years ago maybe 1 to 4 per month...as time went by it turned to 1 to 4 per week then it was recently 3 to 4 a day for about 5 or 6 months.... im finally at day 5 and i definately feel alot better. i slept for about 10 hours(thats really good considering the max was 4 hours in the past 4 days) my sleep shedule is a lil messed up but im gonna stay up till about 9 tonight since i slept all day yesterday from 10am to about 8 or 9 PM.
