Avatar f tn 15 grams of carbohydrates is equal to 1 carb count. Try to limit your carbs to 4 carbs or 60 grams per meal. And 2 carbs per snack. There are very good charts available online to help you guage the carbohydrates in fresh foods as well. Also try to eat at the same times daily. This will help keep your sugar levels stable and keep from putting a demand on your pancreas from binging because you skip meals or go long periods between eating.

Avatar f tn You should have protein in every meal, there should be five to six per day. A scoop of protein powder, handful of almonds or stick of string cheese is all you need. Replace white rice, pasta and bread with whole grains such as oats, quinoa, brown rice and barley. Whole grains contain fiber to fill you up and do not cause the dramatic spike in insulin that refined carbohydrates do. Substitute fruit for refined sugar when you crave something sweet.
Avatar f tn A well balance meal, with simple sugar (such as fruit), carbohydrates, protein, and fat? First the body burns the sugar for energy, then the carbs get used, then protein, and lastly fat is used. I know the problem from personal experience!

There are different types of carbohydrates. For example breads, pasta, potatoes and rice and then there are vegetables and fruits. Can I obtain my carbohydrate intake just by eating (vegetables and fruits), or is it important that I also eat (breads, pasta, potatoes and rice in small quantities)?.

Avatar n tn For the past 2 years I have been having some gastro problems I cant seem to get rid off. I get gas whenever I eat anything high in carbohydrates. I cant eat and apple without getting gas. It always has a putrid odor. I wake up every morning with a stuffed nose and a white coating on my tongue. On days when I eat nothing or no carbohydrates at all, I wake with a clear nasal passage and very little if any gas at all. Unfortunately this isnt a viable or healthy way to live.
