Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrates good stomach

carbohydrate

Avatar n tn t know enough gastroenterology to figure out why this happens. My only theory is that carbohydrates increase the osmolarity of the stomach contents enough to draw more acid from the stomach walls (as proteins and fats would have a much lower contribution to osmolarity), but that seems simplistic at best. Anyone have any insights or theories as to why this is? Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn I have over indulged this weekend and i have severe upper stomach pain which goes right through to my back. it is like i have been stabbed straight through my stomach and it has come out of my back.
Avatar f tn m sick and no one believes me cause my symptoms are sweating, weakness, bad taste in mouth and stomach irritation and newly diagnoses guttate psoriasis. I never feel good anymore but my blood tests are fine. My body is attacking itself. I feel better and then whammo - start feeling really bad again. Think it might be something with my immune system cause of the psoriasis but I'm starting to think it must be my stomach. Had bariatric surgery 12 yrs ago.
Avatar n tn That means that eating fatty foods will mean acid is retained in the stomach for longer period of time than eating carbohydrates/protein.
1657684 tn?1307375035 but sometimes afterwards he does vomit or do some unusually water stools that smell awful. i would really like to know what is good for him and what is not. somethimes he is strangely sweeter than other days and sometimes he has quick tempers. i wonder why?
Avatar f tn - [ ] fructose is one of the key carbohydrates involved in the regulation of the intestinal permeability and its overuse may cause harmful effects, such as tight junction protein dysfunction.
Avatar f tn Calories come from nutrients, from our food, broken down to its simplest elements. Some carbohydrates start to break down in our mouth with our saliva, then the stomach starts protein break-down. The food makes it way to the small intestines where fats, and protein break down are completed, and all, including carbohydrates, are absorbed into our bodies. Whatever is not broken down, passes into the large intestine and excreted.
Avatar n tn Some raw vegetables are indeed very hard for anyone to digest, such as broccoli and kale, but others, such as sprouts and carrots, are not, so eliminating all raw vegetables is silly. You say avoid carbohydrates, but all vegetables are carbohydrates, so are you saying don't eat any foods rich in antioxidants? Cayenne pepper, for those who are used to it in their cultures, actually helps to heal the mucosal lining of the stomach. Sesame seeds? Really? Onions?
Avatar f tn I also get pronounced borborygmus (sp?) or stomach rumbling soon after eating even a small amount of food. If I drink even just a small bit of orange juice, for example (4 oz) I get quite bloated (like appearing 5 months pregnant). Carbohydrates seem to be the main issue (breads, refined and whole grain, juice, any sort of candy or high-sugar item, etc). I have few problems if I eat only protein and a few vegetables.
Avatar f tn you need to have your dr to consult a stomach doctor , maybe the can scope your stomach to see if you have any problems
Avatar n tn For the past 2 years I have been having some gastro problems I cant seem to get rid off. I get gas whenever I eat anything high in carbohydrates. I cant eat and apple without getting gas. It always has a putrid odor. I wake up every morning with a stuffed nose and a white coating on my tongue. On days when I eat nothing or no carbohydrates at all, I wake with a clear nasal passage and very little if any gas at all. Unfortunately this isnt a viable or healthy way to live.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been experiencing daily intense bloating/trapped air and the feeling that my stomach is struggling to digest several times a day every day. My stomach makes lots of digesting noises, especially if I press on it and this makes it feel like trapped air is being released. I also feel the need to burp a lot. Despite this the symptoms will still continue on for many hours per episode. It is most intense at night.
Avatar n tn My blood sugar level is lower after I consume food and higher when my stomach is empty. Is there any problem with me? Normally it should be lower when stomach is empty right? What causes such symptoms?

Avatar n tn Hi Jonodaigle, I am a volunteer on this forum, not a medical professional, so I can only speak from experience of a Type I Diabetic. I have not heard of artifical sweeteners making diabetes treatment difficult. Perhaps others on this forum have had a different experience.
720228 tn?1530911279 I personally do not think there is a special diet for Diabetics, basically they have to eat less of everything plus keeping in mind the amount of sugar in what they eat/drink e.g. sugar free drinks and these are good for everyone including children. If any one parent has Diabetes care is required with children's diet. Higher protein is good for Diabetics but just as good for everyone especially children.
4274823 tn?1388529098 I've never had a single fungal infection in my life. I wasn't 100% sure why and put it down to my love of saturated fat (anti fungal) but then I found out candida needs an alkaline environment to grow and I'm sure not alkaline! I'm acidic due to insulin resistance doing a number on my kidneys. Bicarbonate labs always low. My mother had severe systematic yeast infections however.
Avatar m tn Wine is often made from grapes or other fruits that are then fermented to produce alcohol) In short- alcohol does have carbohydrates, but the amount of carbs varies a good bit between various types of drinks. As for where calories come from... You can find products that have zero carbohydrates, but are still pretty high in calories. A calorie is actually a measure of energy. Basically, everything you eat requires a certain amount of energy to "burn" it completely.
Avatar n tn Hi. I was wondering if there's is some free app for carbohydrates counting? I was never good at that. Thank you.
5747555 tn?1408727657 So I'm trying to loose weight - and trying to do something lower/better in carbs to stave off Type 2 diabetes. My doctor swears this will work. But -- where do fruits like grapes (nature's original portable snack food) fit? Are they good or bad. And if the goal is to cut carbs, then does that mean no more grapes, apples, etc? Any suggestions.
