Avatar f tn A good start is to stop eating after 8 pm. DO NOT EAT AFTER 8 PM. If you are really hungry, have a beverage. Breakfast is a must to start the day. Have a cereal with low fat milk. Slow jogging is a good exercise, but you must jog for more than 30 mins, because after 30 mins then you start burning fat. Take is slow or do brisk walking instead for a hour everyday, you will sure to see some results !!

About thirty minutes to one hour after eating simple carbs on an empty stomach — sugar, white bread, candy bars, etc. — my heart rate jumps to 100 BPM, and my chest tingles. I am 45, male, overweight. I have daily PVCs and Bradycardia with no symptoms. I have been diagnosed with lone atrial fibrillation.

Avatar n tn I also get palpitations sometimes, but not regularly. He listened to my heart while I was lying down and then again when he asked me to sit up on the bed. He said that the rhythm changed considerably from one position to another which is not normal. He said that I have what is called: left ventricular hypertrophy, the thickening of a heart muscle which is quite serious as far as I know and is referring my to a clinic. What do you think? How can he be so sure?

An hour after eating my heart started to pound at about 110 BPM. Shortly after the pounding heart rate began I was throwing multiple PVC's for about twenty minutes. It was TERRIFYING. I guess what this comes down to, is I am nervous that I have heart disease or am dying. The second question is more hopeful, but is there a chance that I carbs could be the culprit?
Avatar n tn Remember balancing the carbohydrates and protein is the key and you would required carbohydrates for continuous energy and also for instant day to day work so decrease taking simple carbohydrates as in sugars and try to consume them in fruits and complex fiber rich carbohydrates. Proteins you can increase a little by taking a glass of toned milk with your regular protein diet. With more of intense muscle building you need to take supplements as advised by your trainer.

Ran a half marathon (my 4th!) got sick (some sort of tummy flu) and then travelled abroad for a week. My immune system was shot so I had a bad herpes outbreak (have had it for years as well) and developed bad anxiety. Started feeling my throat closing up, panic attacks in the middle of the night, fatigue, etc...

Avatar f tn The rate you are having isn't scary high. I would work on stress as that elevates your rate. And acid reflux as that can contribute. Try to stay away from caffeine, energy drinks and carbohydrates/sugary foods and see if that helps. Make sure you drink plenty of water. It does wonders for the heart and try to get some cardio in. A better conditioned heart will feel physically better.
Avatar m tn Finally it is possible the running is irritating the heart a bit but cardiovascular exercise is still good for your heart so unless it starts to cause you major symptoms that disrupt your ability to function most heart rhythm issues are not too concerning to doctors. It is good you are getting checked out but you will probably not have to do much except try and find and eliminate your triggers. Best of luck getting a handle on this. So remember, a low fat diet, but high in carbs, will still increase trigs. I watched a very good documentary recently on calories and the amount of food the body actually requires is a lot less than we imagine. Nearly everyone has an appetite far exceeding their daily needs.

But -- where do fruits like grapes (nature's original portable snack food) fit? Are they good or bad. And if the goal is to cut carbs, then does that mean no more grapes, apples, etc? Any suggestions.
