Avatar f tn I'd say dont worry that it was nothing to do with the Guinness in the irish stew...Guinness is low in alchohol as it is, and when you cook with it the alchohol burns off.
Avatar f tn Also, to test out the different kinds of beer theory, get regular beer, nonalcoholic beer, and both of those beers I mentioned, and drink them at home and see how your digestion does, drink a couple of one kind in an evening, and then the other kinds on other days. You could also try eating something every time you drink, they always have tacos and snack foods available to munch on, might help your digestion handle the alcohol better.

Avatar f tn Beer is definitely good for getting your milk to come on. Guinness is the best for it and I believe t he non-alcoholic beer works well to. Peppermint tea is also good to get your milk flowing.
Avatar m tn Last night I had a terrifying experience. Now to preface, I traveled to Ireland- have drank Guinness for years. I'm 42 years old. Never had any issue with any alcohol or allergies (except to cat hair- but I would just have itchiness when around them). No food/ no medication allergies. Yesterday, after skipping lunch I had a fast food hamburger and coke (nothing new- had for years) for dinner on my way out for the night.

Avatar m tn ve been doing everything I should to take it easy on my intestines including avoiding alcohol, after a tough week at work I had a Guinness (knowing it is pretty low in it's alcohol content) and felt better almost immediately. Is it possible that the yeast found in bottled Guinness could be helping with a bacterial overgrowth? Prior to this, I had been testing positive for Group B Strep overgrowth and had been put on Amoxicillin four times in seven months.
Avatar f tn Is this woman in the guinness book of records?
649848 tn?1534633700 Generally, beer has more calories than wine, but the calorie difference in the two primarily comes from the leftover carbohydrates in beer, as the sugar content for most wines is fairly low. Low-calorie beers have an additional enzyme added during the brewing or fermentation process, and it breaks down all of the starch molecules into simple sugars so there are no remaining carbohydrates.
Avatar f tn They proceed to each buy a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage three flies landed in each of their pints, and were stuck in the thick head. The Englishman pushed his beer away from him in disgust. The Scotsman fished the offending fly out of his beer and continued drinking it as if nothing had happened. The Irishman too, picked the fly out of his drink, held it out over the beer and then started yelling, "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT YOU *******!!!!!

Avatar f tn Have meals with the right balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and the right kinds of fat (such as unsaturated and monounsaturated fats, olive oil, canola oil, pistachios, almonds and walnuts). Heinemann suggests the following ratio: 60%-70% carbohydrates, 10%-15% protein, and a small amount of fat. Eat foods higher in calories, vitamins, and minerals, as opposed to higher in fat or sugar. Pack more nutritious calories in each serving.
Avatar f tn t absorb the iron tablets I was given, so I was advised by my consultant to drink a can of Guinness each week to help and within a matter of days after having a drink my body was absorbing the iron and I was feeling human again. I went on to have a very healthy 8lb 5oz boy who will be 2 at the end of January. Each pregnancy is different and each person will say different things, you just need to listen to what your body is saying (and you doctor too!
Avatar m tn My husband is 62 and for the past 20+ years has drunk 7 pints of strong beer (Guinness) every night. (i.e. nearly 100 units a week, four times the recommended limit). I believe he is an alcoholic as he is absolutely unable to curb the habit. He refuses all suggestions of help or advice. A recent blood test taken by our GP for a General Health check showed his liver to be in normal working order - he now thinks he is totally impervious to any damage drinking might cause.
1337843 tn?1283442507 After spending the whole day there, the doctor informed me that he could not find anything wrong with me, my lungs are in working order and I was getting enough oxygen in the blood. i m a very occasional smoker and drink couple or small bottles of Guinness a day. I haven’t smoked for at least two weeks now and things haven’t got any better. I really don’t know where to turn to now. Do you think I’m allergic to something? Please help.
Avatar n tn If you get hiv from a bj you will be in the Guinness Book of World Records .
Avatar m tn Got it on 1st January after a night of heavy drinking (Carlsberg, Guinness, some mojito and few shots of JD) (is this alcohol flush?) and also eating seafood (squid, fish, softshell crabs) (is this allergy?). I also slept at a very cheap motel beside the sea (is this a bug bite? bed bugs?).
Avatar n tn My favourite alcholic beverage is beer, which, of course, contains carbohydrates as well as alcohol. What I found I needed was 1.2 units of Humalog for each pint of beer (Molson Export, Canadian market) for the first two beers. A 2.4 unit injection of Humalog takes 3 hours to wind down. This means I can have two beers. I take the shot 1/2 hour before starting to drink, then drink at the rate of one pint per hour.
Avatar m tn The things you listed (leaf lettuce, high fiber cereal, fruit) are all carbohydrates, meaning they all end up in the blood in exactly the same form: glucose. To your pancreas, insulin, or your blood, it really doesn't matter wether you ate a potato, cereals, a cake, pasta, 5 spoons of sugar, 10 apples, spinach, carrots, or drank beer. The only difference is the taste on your tongue, and in the stomach. After that they all get converted to same substance - blood glucose.
Avatar f tn Wine is only okay after your baby is fully developed in the last month not, "here and there" and beer is not okay. I crave beer all the time but I wouldn't drink a small one I mean what's the point you're not gonna get drunk nor buzzed and it'll just go straight to the baby.
