Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrate rich meat

carbohydrate

Avatar m tn Hi, You can stick to protein-rich foods and eliminate nearly all fat and limit carbohydrate intake to lose weight. When your body finds that it does not have any carbohydrate easily available to it, it will start breaking down the fat to get energy and ends up burning more calories in the process. You should be careful to include carbohydrates in your diet so that you do not end up developing a carbohydrate craving resulting in binge eating.
973741 tn?1342342773 There are plenty of great recipes for low carb foods these days. For example, instead of having spaghetti and meat sauce, I have spiralized zucchini with meat sauce. My kids don't like zucchini, but they sure like "green spaghetti"; and sometimes we make orange spaghetti by spiralizing carrots. :) I have been eating low carb (more or less strictly) for the past 10 years.
Avatar f tn Yes, look out for what you consume, any carbohydrate rich foods is very fattening, this includes but it not limited to: sugars, chocolate, bread (dark or white), pasta, rice, potatoes, fries, most sauces, carrots, broccoli, most fruits (avocado is ok though), all yogurts and other dairy products that have sugars added. Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn There are a lot of different foods you can eat, besides seafood and eggs. Any type of lean meat is acceptable; yes, even red meat, with the fat cut off. Chicken and turkey are good choices, as well. Center your meals around veggies, rather than meat. You can eat unlimited amounts of almost any type of veggie, provided that it doesn't have butter or sauce on it, and you'll be adding very few calories.

3187528 tn?1344805510 Even though meat and bone meals are still considered protein-rich meat concentrates, we do not consider a generic ingredient like this a quality item. The fourth item is soybean meal. Soybean meal is actually a useful by-product. It’s what remains of soybeans after all the oil has been removed. Soybean meal contains 48% protein. However, compared to meat, this item is considered an inferior plant-based protein providing a lower biological value.
Avatar f tn m not sure if I need to see an Allergist, ENT, Gastroenterologist, Internist or who because about an hour after eating a carbohydrate I seem to get inflammation and swelling on my right side only...starting in my right sinuses, behind right eye, right ear, right throat, right lymph gland in neck, and going in a straight line down the right side of my chest and down to my right kidney. If I only eat meat, salads, and non starchy vegetables, water and plain tea, I don't have any symptoms.
Avatar m tn 1- If I take a full meal, rich in carbs like rice, the spike is as high as 215-220 after two hours. 2- after three hours the level is down to 140-155 even with this high carbs meal. 3-If I take the same big meal, rich in carbs, and go for a walk for one hour, the level would be 138-140 mg/dl after two hours. Now average meal with average carbs.
Avatar n tn See the meat? What kind of meat? You want to see a specific meat name in food....This could be roadkill!! For that matter, I'm sorry to say that it probably is! There's NO need for sugar in any dogfood....It's like doggie crack and that's why they like these treats.... All those dyes are unneccesary...The Red has been blamed for cancerous properties & is suppose to be banned for humans....But, they think dogs can? That's ridiculous!!!
Avatar n tn I am not a physician, but the mom of a one diabetic. I do know that the body does produce glucagons and stores it in the liver until it is needed. Glucagon is an important hormone involved in carbohydrate metabolism. Produced by the pancreas, it is released when the glucose level in the blood is low (hypoglycemia), causing the liver to convert stored glycogen into glucose and release it into the bloodstream.

Avatar f tn I agree with WaveRider; the postprandial was way too high. But you did not just eat meat for lunch. Meat has no carbs and won't raise your glucose. What was with the meat? Potatoes, bread, fruits, etc. all have carbs and will raise your readings. Also, what did you drink with the meal? Soda? Sweet tea? Coffee with sugar and creamer? You need to watch everything you take into your mouth!
