When your body finds that it does not have any carbohydrate easily available to it, it will start breaking down the fat to get energy and ends up burning more calories in the process. Avatar f tn Yes, look out for what you consume, any carbohydrate rich foods is very fattening, this includes but it not limited to: sugars, chocolate, bread (dark or white), pasta, rice, potatoes, fries, most sauces, carrots, broccoli, most fruits (avocado is ok though), all yogurts and other dairy products that have sugars added. Carb low is: meat all kinds including fish, cheese, vegetables most of them.

My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?

Avatar f tn m not sure if I need to see an Allergist, ENT, Gastroenterologist, Internist or who because about an hour after eating a carbohydrate I seem to get inflammation and swelling on my right side only...starting in my right sinuses, behind right eye, right ear, right throat, right lymph gland in neck, and going in a straight line down the right side of my chest and down to my right kidney. If I only eat meat, salads, and non starchy vegetables, water and plain tea, I don't have any symptoms.

I have low A1C, low blood pressure 110/70 and very good cholesterol levels. I bike ride, walk or do yoga almost every day. I've never had any health issues. As I hit my forties I was prone to getting leg cramps at night if I had a late carbohydrate based meal (so I just cut those out).

You might also consider buying a protein powder and drink shakes between your meals and after exercising. Personally i use QuickMass from Allmax Nutrition. I was was 118 lbs when i started it 1 month ago and now I'm 129.

So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar n tn I am alot on high protein and vegetable foods and avoid carbohydrate rich food. That helps me on my colitis and makes it easy to control my weight. However I have had problems with constipation from this foods. What I do is that once a day (during my reward meal) I eat 1/3 of a banana, 2-3 spoons of kashju nuts and other nuts with various berries. Daily I also take pro-biotics and at least one glass of psyllium husk steared into warm water. This works fine on me and resolves the problem.
