" LOL, that's like, eating a big mac and supersize order of fries twice a day. Perhaps not quite that much, but it's a substantial meal. If I ate like that twice a day, I'd gain 100 lbs over the course of treatment. And something else just occurred to me.
Avatar n tn Hi, You may be having an overly brisk insulin response to eating heavy carbohydrate loads(like the bread) and a form of what is sometimes called "reactive hypoglycemia." If this is the case, the best treatment is to have several(usually 406) small mixed meals during the day instead of 2-3 big ones that tend to be heavy in carbohydrates. The small meals should have a portion of protein, carbohydrate and fats.
Avatar n tn Try eating six small meals a day and workout for 45 mins. The pounds should start coming off if you give your body the correct proteins.
Avatar n tn The Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones personal meals work well for me. While they have approximately the same amount of carbs the fat content is really low (which makes my bloodsugar levels easier to control since the carbs are being released quickly-like normal- and not being released over a long period of time...this makes it substantially easier to control my bg). Also stay away from Bird's Eye because that brand has an astronomical amount of carbs and fat (depending on which dish you buy).
Avatar m tn Also as I said before, get hold of information on carbohydrate counting. Also have smaller frequent meals rather than following the two big meals tradition common in India,. Take care.
Avatar n tn s best to get the exact amount of carbs that you should be eating from your doctor- different medical conditions will cause the limit to be more or less. I have always been given different recommendations for different meals as well. In general, the recommendation is 30-60 grams for meals, and 15-30 for snacks, but again- talk to your doctor about your situation specifically.

Avatar f tn The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. When you skip meals the body will go into ‘starvation mode’ to protect itself. What happens is the body will try to retain its’ protein, and carbohydrate ‘stores’ within the body and you may not able to lose weight. The body does not know the difference if it is ‘starving’ due to self-infliction (skip meals or very low calorie intake) or environment factors (no food to eat). Hoped this helped you.

Avatar m tn A couple of months ago i ran a blood sugar test and the result had increased from 84mg/dl to 106mg/dl,I was then advised by the doctor to watch my carbohydrate intake and eat healthy. Ketones have more to do with not eating enough than with not drinking enough. 6 eight ounce glass of water should be plenty per day. Do not drink so much that you feel full all the time. I eat about 3 meals a day, with some snacks between them sometimes. I am 30 years old and exercise 3 times a week. Its the hunger that comes out of nowhere. Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Avatar m tn You should definitely be avoiding eating a high carbohydrate diet. Best that you limit your rice and eat more (non-starchy) vegetables in it's place. You may also need to be on medicine to help bring your blood sugars down. I recommend you take these testing results to your doctor and also ask for assistance and advice on medication. The spikes are definitely dangerous to your long-term health. Damage to your organs and body will occur when blood sugars are above 140.
Avatar f tn Maybe the trick isn't eating more than you do, but eating foods higher in carbohydrate and/or calories. Maybe try a nutrition shake with a meal or 2 each day.
