Avatar f tn I'm fairly new and I start all sorts of "lifestyle" changes like down loading and trying to follow this app... But within like a few days I start craving all sorts of bad food and lots of it. I would like some support to keep up with my eating less and exercising. Help!!
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar n tn i have carbohydrate intolerance also. it just developed after i got sick camping. doctors are not able to diagnose anything, and i have had many tests. my understanding is that my intestinal flora (bacteria and other microscopic beings that protect and digest for us) was disturbed. when i eat carbohydrates i get a feeling like im stoned or drunk.
Avatar m tn Approximately 3 years ago I was diagnosed as being B12 deficient, however, the cause is not known as I tested positive for the Intrinsic Factor AB. My doctor has prescribed shots for me every 2 weeks and this is not enough! I know my body well enough to know. At first this regimen was working, but now my symptoms are coming back (fatigue, brain fog, weight loss, imbalance, awkward gait).
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn Generally want to keep your protein to carbohydrate ratio 1 Gm protein to 2 Gm Carbohydrate and can have all the watery vegetables you want. You can find lots of sites with healthy recipes - I like The World's Healthiest Foods at http://www.whfoods.com/ and his healing with foods site is up-to-date and interesting - http://www.whfoods.com/diseasestoc.php. Right now, I enjoy eating quinoa - using it instead of rice.
Avatar f tn m not sure if I need to see an Allergist, ENT, Gastroenterologist, Internist or who because about an hour after eating a carbohydrate I seem to get inflammation and swelling on my right side only...starting in my right sinuses, behind right eye, right ear, right throat, right lymph gland in neck, and going in a straight line down the right side of my chest and down to my right kidney. If I only eat meat, salads, and non starchy vegetables, water and plain tea, I don't have any symptoms.
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.
Avatar m tn Hi, You can stick to protein-rich foods and eliminate nearly all fat and limit carbohydrate intake to lose weight. When your body finds that it does not have any carbohydrate easily available to it, it will start breaking down the fat to get energy and ends up burning more calories in the process. You should be careful to include carbohydrates in your diet so that you do not end up developing a carbohydrate craving resulting in binge eating.
Avatar f tn What is the best way to treat mild faecal loading in the stomach and how long would it take to get it cured ? the symptoms of gas and bloating are really severe in my case.

7628588 tn?1392763151 Yes, adopt a Paleo lifestyle. Humans were not designed to run on the carbohydrates we typically consume daily. They were seasonal treats found during the warm months of the year, honey, berries, and fruit. Our bodies have not evolved sufficiently to run on carbohydrates. Rampant Type II diabetes is proof of that. So, do you really want to lose weight, and lower your blood glucose level? No "white stuff".
Avatar f tn In a lot of illnesses (physical and mental health), there appears to be a "genetic loading" where people will have a certain amount of the required genetics but that a severe biopsychosocial trigger turns the genes "on." The heavier the genetic loading, the less severe the trigger needs to be...it's a huge start to see scientists finding these triggers.
1512574 tn?1342608485 Hi Sports Fans, I started Round 3 by loading on 26 Feb and 27 Feb and my 28 Feb weight after loading was 222.6 lbs. I have completed my first week and I currently weigh 213.0 lbs. That is a total of 9.6 lbs in my first week. I can not believe that I am only 13 lbs away from Onederland. Week 2 started with a big 1 lbs loss this morning and I am stoked.
Avatar m tn Your blood glucose increase is most likely caused by what you ate. 5 pieces of bread is a lot of carbohydrate. Additionally some vegetables (carrots included) have a high carbohydrate content.
Avatar n tn This is logical for the type 2 diabetic, for eating a fairly low-carbohydrate diet would not require the production of as much insulin by the already stressed pancreas. However, if insulin resistance is the main problem for a type 2 diabetic, then lowering the carb count may not really be the solution, and medications to help the insulin-resistance problem still may be needed.
Avatar f tn A healthy diet, moderate exercise and pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements to help break the cycle of carbohydrate cravings. They recommend 60 to 70 grams of protein a day. For fats, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, with an emphasis on polyunsaturated, to help you feel satisfied and less likely to overeat. Avoid oxidized or rancid fats, trans-fatty acids and hydrogenated fats. Eat complex carbohydrates, which help to moderate blood sugar swings and provide fiber.
