Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrate loading history

carbohydrate

Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn Home yesterday from 3 day Tikosyn loading; did not need the cardio-vert as the med successfully corrected rhythm. Started with 500 mg, then 250 and now at 125mg. At the other levels, there was some ventricular tachy. Feeling good, except feeling un-ambitious.... is that even a word? LOL ! Guessing since the med slows the heart, it must be slowing everything down.
Avatar f tn However, if you have other symptoms or history of miscarriges, you must have this addressed before proceeding with IVF. I also think you should try to eat healthier. You do not have diabetes but if your 109 was a fasting blood sugar then you have an abnormal fasting glucose and should avoid eating too much refined carbohydrates like white bread, white flour, and rice. It is better to eat less carbohydrates and eat complex, high fiber grains like whole wheat, brown rice.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn Hello I'm going to be having 3 stents inserted into my arteries in a couple of weeks time. My specialist (who will be carrying out the procedure) has asked me to take 600mg of clopigdogrel and 600mg of asprin the night before the procedure, and I'm a bit worried about doing this. Is it normal practice? I currently take 75mg of clopidogrel every day.
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.
Avatar f tn What is the best way to treat mild faecal loading in the stomach and how long would it take to get it cured ? the symptoms of gas and bloating are really severe in my case.
Avatar m tn Hello, thank you so much for your reply, it is much appreciated. We have now had an abdominal ultrasound done to rule out fibroids or masses, and the liver, spleen, uterus, common bile duct and ovaries all check out fine. It was noticed there was "significant fecal loading" when we received the initial report back from the xray and good deal of gas appeared on the US.
Avatar n tn Again, I'll need to do more research since I'm not a medical doctor but I do have a long history with diabetes. Most women with diabetes are classified as high risk pregnancies and should be followed by a team of specialists who understand the risks (to mom AND child) and can help the mom manage their blood sugars superbly well before conception and during those crucial 9 months.
Avatar f tn No family history of it....I just don't know how it could b 170 if I only had toast at 5am. And test was 1:15pm..if I ate more then that I could understand.

Avatar f tn 4mm micro tumour in the right lobe of the pituitary. I have a history of 4mm adenoma removed from pituitary in 1993 and left adrenalectomy removal due to another adenoma in 1992. For years I was told my worsening PMS had nothing to do with Cushings Disease. However in the last 12 months my symptoms worsened and I thought I was menopausal due to flushes, etc. Blood tests showed that I was not menopausal. I was then told I had depression.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am 40 yo male, 5 foot 6 147 pounds. I work out, am in good shape, my trig/hdl ratio is around 1. I do not appear to have any symptoms of insulin resistance other than elevated fasting BS's. I do have a family history of type 2 diabetes but neither my parents or brother have it. My question, my FBS has been high normal for awhile now, but most recent lab work came back as 112. I have been taking them at home since this reading and they have been between 102-113 every morning.
Avatar f tn In a lot of illnesses (physical and mental health), there appears to be a "genetic loading" where people will have a certain amount of the required genetics but that a severe biopsychosocial trigger turns the genes "on." The heavier the genetic loading, the less severe the trigger needs to be...it's a huge start to see scientists finding these triggers.
Avatar m tn Approximately 3 years ago I was diagnosed as being B12 deficient, however, the cause is not known as I tested positive for the Intrinsic Factor AB. My doctor has prescribed shots for me every 2 weeks and this is not enough! I know my body well enough to know. At first this regimen was working, but now my symptoms are coming back (fatigue, brain fog, weight loss, imbalance, awkward gait).
