Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrate counting wine

carbohydrate

Avatar m tn Good question. I am a red wine drinker and there are minute amounts of protein and only 1% carbs. No fats. I'd like to know too!
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.
10515800 tn?1419227034 s perfectly fine to have a glass of wine every now and then. Preferably red wine because it has antioxidants and is good for the heart.
Avatar f tn While it is normal to have a rise in blood sugar level after a meal, excessive rise in blood sugar levels could indicate inappropriate dosage/ timing of injecting the insulin or excessive or inappropriate proportion of carbohydrate in diet. You could start by slightly lowering the carbohydrate and increasing the protein portion of diet. If this does not seem to help, I would suggest consulting your treating endocrinologist for adjustment in dosage/ timing of the insulin. Hope this is helpful.
Avatar m tn if possible , start carbohydrate counting. You may need to buy a basic scale in order to measure raw materials going into your curries and their carbohydrate count. The net has number of sites which can help in calculation. Best of health.
594189 tn?1386916607 Your personal issue may be the afternoon snack (often chocolate or candy or a food that’s also heavy in carbohydrates), too many potato chips, the extra glass of wine at night, or a hundred other variations. But the underlying mechanism, and the way to curb cravings, is the same. And it has nothing to do with willpower, or your lack thereof! Food cravings mean that the body has its signals mixed up.
Avatar m tn It has helped control my diabetes until this past year. Are you counting your carbohydrate intake and keeping it within the recommended amount every day?
Avatar f tn You will get a ton of comments saying that you're selfish for considering it and that if you can't restrain yourself for nine months you shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place and that's what you signed up for when you spread your legs and blah blah blah. There are no studies showing exactly how much alcohol is okay in your system before issues will develop. It is very hard to say.
973741 tn?1342342773 I'm wondering about this topic. Does counting your carbs help prevent diabetes? An essential thing to do if you are worried about diabetes? What are the best ways to do this?
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar n tn Does that website have a listing of foods with CHO's only? It looks like they have alot of stuff including a hefty membership fee. I'm always sorry to see that. What I want is a list that only has carb counts of many many foods. I have a book or two with that but I want it online, ready for me to cut and paste and make it customized for my twin daughters.
Business woman1 I suggest you eat frequent small meals and stop counting calories. It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc). Drink plenty of water and non fattening fluids such as clear soups etc. Look for hidden calories in salads and soups and avoid them (eg: cheese, butter, dressings etc). Also, you need to exercise regularly.
Avatar m tn I went cold turkey from drinking wine (my only real vice) and eventually felt better. Started drinking wine (2-3 glasses a night) and started to feel crappy again. One thing that's been happening is I can't shake a fairly persistent headache. It will get worse at night. 800mg of Tylenol will have only a minimal effect. I'm trying milk thistle and am not currently drinking (8 days and counting) but the Headaches are still there. Any help or insight would be most appreciated.
Avatar m tn What a feat ! You are brave ! I have 4 more days on inc , and counting down the hours. Prayers for Great Labs !
Avatar f tn I have never been the alcohol type. I've only had maybe 5 alcohol drinks in my life. But I find myself counting down the days till I can relax and sip on a flavorful drink. Lol. I've been so stressed lately. Just give me some wine please.
Avatar f tn I watch what I eat for the most part and do enjoy a glass if wine with dinner. What Other options are there for me at age 51. I've heard of PYO?? I don't want to irritate my back anymore.... Help!
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar m tn Had 6 weeks off at the beginning of the year and then fell off the wagon and had it run over me. 10 days of at least 5 bottles of wine a day (not always wine but equivalent units in gin, beer etc). Stopped midday Friday. Severe shakes set in two hours later which are now starting to come down, sweats all night, bad sore throat, hallucinations when in bed. Sleep is the worst part got none on the first night and maybe 5 last night. Can anyone tell me when they think I will be in the clear?
Avatar f tn thank you so much!! I have always been confused because my doctor never told me anything about that! also, I learntabout this thing called "carbs counting", is it necessary for all diabetes to know about this?
Avatar f tn Can I obtain my carbohydrate intake just by eating (vegetables and fruits), or is it important that I also eat (breads, pasta, potatoes and rice in small quantities)?. Or do I have to eliminate them completely from my diet???? 2. I do not understand the exact relation between the amount of carbohydrates taken and the glicemic index. Could I eat food of low glicemic index, and still obtain the amount of carbohydrates required daily???? Does high glicemic index means more carbohydrates???
