Avatar f tn funny thing, ive been craving banannas too. yesterday i went to the banana republic, that just wasnt enough. that night i awoke in a banana sweat, i made muffins it still wasnt enought. i imediately wasnt right. i called my doctor and he said was probobly allergic to apples which is causing me to lose pubic hair and sparked a new interesnt in bananas.
Avatar m tn Actually, I do not. However, I just noticed in this months issue of runners world some great low fat recipes that are unusually high in carbs. For example, on page 48, they list the breakfast of champions, 1 cup oatmeal topped with 1 Tbsp honey, 2 Tbsp dried cherries, 2 Tbsp walnut haves, 8 oz of plain kefir, and 1 medium banana. This supplies 600 calories and 90G of carbohydrate. No bad for breakfast. (But watch your calories if you aren't burning that many).
Avatar m tn You can find products that have zero carbohydrates, but are still pretty high in calories. A calorie is actually a measure of energy. Basically, everything you eat requires a certain amount of energy to "burn" it completely. Different types of ingredients take more energy for your body to process completely. 756140 tn?1294767094 I just read a really interesting article in "Womens World" Magazine (One of my FAVS!!). The article was titled "Japanese Diet Craze" and I just HAD to share the info with all of you on here! I'm trying to type this out from the magazine article so bare with me on any mistakes, lol! What you do: It couldn't be easier: Enjoy a banana (or two!) for breakfast. Follow with a sensible lunch and dinner.
Avatar m tn Let it go and enjoy the meal. Try again in a few months. Sometimes it takes 5-9 times to introduce a food to a child that they will accept the new food. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar n tn I saw your question and remembered going thru this with my son who also would go long periods without bm's and then he would withhold and make it even more difficult. He did outgrow the problem (is a teen now). I was told by his doctors to be more creative with his diet, made special "high fiber" cookies, no cheese. Drank prune juice, make senecot shakes. We finally went to a specialist and he recommended a simple over the counter product.
Avatar n tn The chicken is fine as it is protein, but the corn and the plaintains are quite high in carbs for a portion. Its a starchy vegetable. Check the glycemic index or a carb counter book. You can find this info online. I love corn also, just dont have it to often anymore.
Avatar f tn my 3 year old doesn't like to drink milk anymore from a bottle, from a cup, from a glass or wherever I put it. I'm afraid he's not getting vitamins and minerals from milk. he usually takes a total of 30 oz a day. now its down to ZERO.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing the same exact feelings but do not associate it with eating bananas. I eat a banana a day due to blood pressure meds and urinating alot (for potassium). I thought maybe I was getting gall bladder or pancreas trouble. I will try to stay away from bananas for a few days and see what happens. Hope that works for you.
Avatar m tn I also have had a loss in appetite, increased gas, very painful bowel movements, and occasional cramps. A constant urge to urinate or bowel movement. Its all occurred over 4 to 5 days.
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn Well in my last doc visit I had sugar in my urine, she asked what I had had for breakfast I told her I had on orange and a banana with 2 slices of toast, with a tea with a suger in it! So she said their was allot of carbs and thats prob why their was sugar present when they tested it. But I have to go for a glucose tolerance test Wednesday just to make sure thats what it is! . . .
Avatar n tn “Carbohydrate intolerance is the inability of the body to completely process the nutrient carbohydrate (a classification that includes sugars and starches) into a source of energy for the body, usually because of the deficiency of an enzyme needed for digestion. Lactose intolerance, the inability to digest the sugar found in milk, is widespread and affects up to 70% of the world's adult population.
Avatar f tn What is good for rls that doesnt require a prescription? Maybe something over the counter or just helpful hints. Ive read about the hot baths, not quite working for me. My legs are making me want that 4th pill and I wont let myself do that. Ive been on the 3 a day for the past 3 days, hope it gets better in the next few days so I can taper a little more. Any suggestions on what helps you all are greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers, banana, rice, peeled apple, etc. Take ORS. Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
Avatar m tn The answer is yes. High amounts of caffeine can cause all kinds of problems. Soda pop in general contains high amounts of phosphorous, which can block the absorption of other nutrients, particularly calcium. The high amounts of sugar can cause inflammation, diabetes, and obesity, though the caffeine will counter this aspect. Basically, you're taking speed, and as we know, speed kills. Use in moderation, this ain't a banana no matter how it's advertised.
