1242672 tn?1268361461 What I have found out so far about lumps is that it could be an infection somewhere in your body that could make this happen to you and of course the obvious cancer, however we develop lumps everywhere on our bodies. I have a tumor on my left leg, a tumor on my liver, lung nodules, a small tumor on my sheen and who knows where else. If the lump isn't hard then there is no deep concern.
Avatar n tn My sister is 58 y/o. She has a tumor in the sinus area. She is starting chemo and radiation this week. After 2 biopsies they still have not determined the type of cancer. They hope to shrink the tumor then do surgery.

Avatar f tn This is really confusing. If you have a tumor in your neck and they've biopsied it, and it shows ovarian cancer, then that is metastatic disease. Are they just guessing this tumor in your neck is related to the ovarian cancer? If so, find a doctor who doesn't guess.

969565 tn?1247648036 I was diagnosed with a tumor in my neck several years ago, it was tested and I was told it was a benign nodules. Since then, I feel it has got bigger and I am noticing it more now, having difficulty lying down and sleeping because it feels uncomfortable and also I feel like I have to force myself to swallow. I have seen the consultant again this week and am having a biopsy done again on Friday. He is also arranging an ultrasound scan to be done as well.
Avatar m tn I also had a set of chest x-rays done and the doctor went over the results with me to further say that she did not see anything that looks like a tumor (tumor would show up as white on chest x-ray right?). I had blood drawn as well at a lab near the doctor's office for a CBC, but since my provider will be closed this friday I worry that I will not hear about the results until next week, setting me up for a ton of anxiety.
Avatar m tn This is a tumor marker which is probably useful for detecting colorectal cancer recurrence, but is not very specific or sensitive for detecting lung cancer recurrence. Given your husband's previous background of cancer, his persistent neck pains should be checked for any possibility of metastatic spread to the cervical spine. I would have done a bone scan right away and not wait for CEA results to come out (if this is lung cancer recurrence, the CEA is not a good test for it anyway).
Avatar f tn With all the advancement in research and cure for cancer today, cancer survival rates should become higher compared to the statistics last ten years ago. I hope this helps. Best wishes...
400195 tn?1253745062 My path report had a Final Pathologic Diagnosis which gave line by line info on tumor characteristics, tumor site, tumor focality, tumor size, is there tumor encapsulation?, is there capsule invasion?, lymphovascular invasion?, extent of invasion, surgical margin status, blood vessel invasions outside the tumor or in the capsule?, lymph node status and then details on each area of the thyroid and what they found. Ask the doctor to explain everything to you.

I have access to my labs online. Dr. says I could be having continous migraines if my mri looks the same as in dec.
393685 tn?1425812522 Would you see on a US for thyroid some other type of cancer, like ie throat or neck or something? This is how nervous I am. I never hurt this bad. I just want to understand. I just hurt bad.
Avatar f tn From what I found, it can be read 2 different ways... One is that T3 means that the tumor was more than 4 cm across or it has just begun to grow into nearby tissues outside the thyroid. Yours was 6 cm, which would make it a T3. N1a means the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes... therefore, pt3n1a would mean papillary cancer with a tumor that's more than 4 cm across and has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
Avatar n tn my sister was told that she has a tumor on her lymph node on her neck they cant tell her if it is cancerious or not they said they would have to remove it to know but also told her if she got the opt it could be very dangerious to remove and it could leave her with brain damage or paralized on one side and to think hard before she has the opt.
Avatar f tn new hospital. My tumor was actually papillary with the tall cell variant a much more agressive type of cancer. The new doctor had an MRI done on the shoulder which came back negative and a neck ultra sound which showed up a new 1/2 inch tumor with possible lymph node issues. This was just two months after the ROI treatment. The tumor tested positive for cancer.
Avatar n tn I came down with Cancer in December of 2004. I had a large tumor under the chest, around my throat and the main arteries in the neck. Scared.. you bet. Surgery was performed and the chest tumor was removed but the doctor left the remaining. Just too dangerous to remove. Received Chemo for 6 months and Rad... Went into remission for 4 years and returned in October 2008 as NHL. I fell their is a connection with titanium and my cancer exposure.
362809 tn?1233506554 I had surgery in April where a tumor and 5 lymph nodes were removed and the tumor and one lymph node were positive for cancer. I had RAI 175mCi in the beginning of August. I had a neck CT scan a week ago due to a palpable lump about midway down the right side of my neck. The scan came back suspicious for a node in that spot and also for one on the left side, both at level 2.
Avatar n tn the day of the biopsy they called me back in and told me I have medullary thyroid cancer which is not so easy to treat had a Total thyroidectomy in Oct with neck dissection and am hoping for the best see the docs at Mayo on monday next week and then in Jan. I would suggest you go to someone that is a expert and if possable even the Mayo clinic it is a 6 hour drive for me but I do not care. They told me Calcification does increase you chances of cancer but also the incresed blood flow.
403156 tn?1290150018 I have a 10 year old female golden retriever and just noticed a very large tumor on her throat, which is right where her thyroid is. The tumor is approximately the size of a lemon and it seems to be attached. I feel horrible that I did not notice it until now but it was hiding under her loose skin and long fur. I have recently noticed her stumbling and choking on her food as well.
Avatar n tn I am unsure of them tests but you need a Thyroglobulin and TGab (antibody) ran to check for reoccourance. TG is a Tumor marker for thyroid cancer. There ideally should be no thyroglobulin.
1614773 tn?1381868829 it started awhile ago i been have real bad head and neck pain back pain i fell i been forgetting everything my neck keep twiching i lost 15 lbs my hands and feet are tingles and numbness the doctor said he is sending me to ms doctor i just dont no what all this really is have a tumor in my neck and brain lesion
Avatar f tn If there is Papillary thyroid cancer anywhere in the neck, outside the thyroid, the minimal surgery is total thyroid removal and central compartment dissection. The next issue is a careful ultrasound evaulation of the rest of the neck to determine if lateral neck dissection is needed. The rock-hard L lobe is very concerning as the possible "primary" tumor.
Avatar f tn Originally implanted for a malignant brain Tumor 25 years ago been Cancer free for over 20 years but it is recently causing neck and shoulder pain and constant headaches
