Your best bet is to actually call the pharmacist. While doctors SHOULD know the answer to this question, pharmacists are better educated about this. The one thing I can tell you about any weight loss drug is that even though they may be safe to take together, anytime I've taken them (or even green tea), my heart rate goes through the roof and I get jittery. So, even if the drugs are safe together, if you notice increased anxiety, this could be why.
I take my zoloft and ativan in morning as it me jittery and causes insomnia. I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.
Hi. I've been on a whole slew of meds for bi-polar none of which have been helpful for combating the depression stages which have escalated recently. My psychiatrist is starting me on Zoloft to help with the somewhat overwhelming depression. However, my research says it can cause Serotonin Syndrome, which can lead to death and that's pretty scary. My psychiatrist says that it's very rare and shouldn't worry about it, but I'm still concerned.
My son is taking this together what can I do He says it makes him feel mormal.
Benedryl doesnt make me sleepy but it helps my allergies. I take Ambien to sleep and benedryl so I dont sneeze. But I am "wired up" differently than most ppl. diphenhydramine is not only the same as Benedryl, its also the main ingredient in most over the counter sleep meds. So it is a bad idea for most ppl to combine them.
Way to put off people who may have taken a life-changing drug.

Ummmm, what I think is that your overmedicated. 1mg is my max dose for the day and that's a lot! taking that 3 times a day is too much.. Anyone will tell you that. Don't try to just stop taking it either - your body is physically dependent on Xanax at this point. I know because my body is dependent on the 1mg/day. Benzos are weird drugs.
No they are not suposed to be taken togehter and infact ther is a contridiction that they are not to be taken together. I had no problem with the Zoloft for 14 years and I am back on it now and have recovered from all of the phyciatric effects of this medication change. The Paxil on the other hand in my opinion is a dangerous drug.
I have taken liquid generic Zoloft for five or six years and it's helped a lot. I also take a small amount of Abilify and Klonopin. Both Allegra and Zyrtec are 24 hour medications in my area. I have known several people who took 3 Zyrtec in one day, and my allergist says that you can't really OD on antihistimines. You should be sure to drink PLENTY of water and watch for signs of constipation and dehydration. You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking.
I can not give you a safe washout period for the tramadol, but what I can tell you is that I would be VERY careful about dosing these drugs together due to the increased risk of serotonin syndrome.
That is not to say that the two meds could not be taken together, or closely after another. But with close doctor supervision. These are two drugs you definitely don't want to mess things up with!
Please speak with your MD before starting the Zoloft.
