Avatar n tn affect from Benadryl which can hit you like a hang over for up to 12 hours as it does with me. Ask the pharmacy but I think you can use cortisone cream on the inflamed area while taking Benadryl. If you go to a doctor they might give you medication to make it go away faster. This swelling can last for 3 weeks as it will in me. It's different for everyone. Some people just a few days, some like me much longer.
Avatar n tn You should see a dermatologist about it. If it's itchy, a bit of hydrocortisone cream might help, as well as a little benedryl. Even if it's not itchy, the hydrocortisone would help with the red and swollen. You shouldn't use it long term without asking a doctor, though, because too much steroid cream can thin the skin, and they eyes already have thin skin. As for lotion, don't use it. Lotion has alcohol in it so it will dry fast, and can dry you out more.

But then again, it is possible for every individual to react differently to it too.

Again, just raising a possibility.
