Can you take celebrex with tylenol

Common Questions and Answers about Can you take celebrex with tylenol

celebrex

Avatar m tn Anyway just be careful what you take. Your new doctor was absolutely right to take you off celebrex. Maybe you could ask about etoricoxib even though you have crohns and not colitis..good luck.
Avatar f tn It is my opinion that each of us have to research the medications we take and make our own decisions based on that research and our comfort levels. Personally I would not take Celebrex long term but I take acetaminophen (tylenol) long term which can be just as risky. So it's an individual decision. Does it significantly help your pain? If it does that would certainly be a large part of my decision process. I hope my input has been a bit helpful for you.
Avatar f tn The advil/tylenol flip-flop is when you would take advil, then a few hours later, take tylenol, and then advil, then tylenol - all overlapping doses. this keeps a steady does of them in your system, without the risk of overdosing on either.
Avatar m tn Meloxicam is just a glorified Ibuprofen/Aleve med, so you could always try those OTC. You can take up to 800 mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours or 500mg of Aleve twice a day in it's place. Celebrex is a name brand drug and insurance companies hate those namebrands. lol Your doc can sometimes do a prior authorization, though, to get them to pay for it, which is basically paperwork explaining that you' ve tried other things and this is the only drug that works for you.
1415174 tn?1453243103 s worth a try, for IF it Stops AFTER the Neurontin is GONE, then you know that you CAN take the Celebrex. IF it starts again then you would know that it was BOTH. IF you stop BOTH meds at the same time you WON'T know which one it is. You might be stopping a VERY good med that helps control you pain when it wasn't necessary. I wish you the very best and hope that it will work out for you. PLEASE let us know what you find out.......
2202729 tn?1377551205 What analgesics a person can take is dependent on the amount of liver disease you have. Anyone with Stage 0-3 has a fully functioning liver and can take whatever they within dosing limits. If you have cirrhosis (and therefore damaged liver function) you should ONLY take Tylenol/acetaminophen. Other pain killers can cause serious and life-threatening complications in patients with cirrhosis.
Avatar n tn Since the blood work and the results the doctor told me to stop taking the Celebrex and just to take Tylenol instead. The doctor now wants me to have an upper GI evaluation. What could possibly be wrong?
Avatar f tn A lot of you are just like me...wanting to find something to help with the pain. I am 58 yrs. old and take Celebrex for a disc problem in my back. Then, a few months ago, I noticed that my hip was paining, then my wrist, then my shoulder...My hip has become the worst - it keeps me from sleeping most nights since that is the side I sleep on. Celebrex does half the job, but I end up using Tylenol Arthritis in addition many days. My doc tried Ultram, but it made me sick.
Avatar f tn The only thing I have found in the literature so far that I can try is combining Gabapentin with Duloxetine. I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Avatar n tn We discussed Celebrex in detail and the head of hepatobilliary department at Shands, who writes a lot of the research you see, said he has absolutely no problem with me taking Celebrex long term. I am a hepper with cirrhosis, I have a healthy heart and well controlled hypertension. I think as long as your mom doesn't have heart issues and she gets regular physian followups that she will benefit from Celebrex. I know I do.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to all drugs in the morphiene family and need to be able to take something stronger than aspirin or tylenol. Tramadol and Ultram have very little if any effect and I have been told my the family doctor that Ibuprofen, Aleve and Celebrex are now unhealthy for my eye condition. Any suggestions as to what can be taken for pain that won't interfere with the current eye treatments?
Avatar m tn I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn I wondered if any of you take or have taken Limbrel. How long does it take for full effect and can you take Motrin or Tylenol with it. My doc says that I can take the Motrin in between the Celebrex wearing off and the Limbrel taking hold. I just hope that this is the answer to some of my pain. It is beginning to get in the way of my daily living and I am scared that if this gets worse, how will I function? I am 58 years old and have just started to babysit my first grandchild in Sept.
Avatar f tn if you take robitussin or mucinex my doctor said its better to take the "DM" kind, and take only about half of the recommended dose
203342 tn?1328737207 All NSAIDs are anti-inflammatory. I'm kind of in the same pickle as you are, because I can't take Tylenol myself, since it makes me feel sick. And, I'm allergic to all opiates. One idea I have, but please check with your GI first, is see if you can take an herb called boswellia. It shouldn't upset your colon, because I've taken it before without feeling any digestive issues at all.
Avatar f tn but these side effect have developed not just an effect but a whole other health issue witth added meds such as zantac, blood work every 6weeks to 2 months and i forgot another side effect was anemia fromt he celebrex...........
Avatar f tn Hi ladys im 19 weeks pregnant can I take tylenol extra strength or can it only be tylenol? Im having a bad tooth ache and tylenol extra strength is what i have at home rite now! please help??
Avatar f tn Everyone is different, but tylenol 4's aren't too hard to kick. I took them for many years before I switched to celebrex, then oxy. (well first to celebrex, a heart attack, then morphine then fentynol then oxy) Taper off them to avoid those horrible tylenol headaches and you shouldn't have too much trouble. Good Luck! I was on fentynol for three years 150mcg/day, and quit those cold turkey. I was grumpy and tired for three days and that was about it.
Avatar f tn You can always take Tylenol cold capsules too for sinuses and what not
Avatar f tn You can take a regular dose of Tylenol.
Avatar f tn Ugh,man.Ty dosent do anything for me.But thank you.Maybe if I try to take a nap.
Avatar dr m tn My facets are pretty arthritic and I may need this one day, but with back pain you do what you can that will control pain, and "wait out the science" to see what improvements come along next year. I know if things get worse I can always Rhizotomize those nerves. Thanks for everyone's opinion and story. Chronic Pain will really affect you - so let's do our best to keep a positive attitude!
Avatar f tn Thanks. I will give it a try.
287246 tn?1318570063 DO NOT take celebrex with ttc!! It can cause miscarriage it causes a problem with implanting. Drs say it is safe but research shows it is NOT safe. It's the same reason you cannot take Aleve in pregnancy they are both a NSAID. It won't cause any birth defects but it can cause miscarriage.
548642 tn?1266179652 I was on it for a while. They found my liver damage and told me to get off of it. I only took it about 3 months. It wasn't helping me anyway. If your liver is in good shape it might be ok to take it. Since you are in your 20s my guess would be your liver is in pretty good shape. Talk to your doctor about it. I'd make sure the doctor that is tx you knows you are taking it.
