ovarian-cysts

Avatar f tn Most ovarian cysts are benign. 98% are benign. A woman has a 1.4% of eve getting ovarian cancer. Less if you are under 50.
Avatar f tn Was that a transvaginal ultrasound? The problem with larger cysts is that they can twist or rupture and that is extremely painful.. Please don't worry about cancer at this stage of the game. There are a lot of other symptoms with Ovarian Cancer ; bloating, feeling of fullness, gastric problems, etc. Remember that 95 % of all cysts are benign...
1832630 tn?1318056776 Hi again. Well your ultrasound clearly states "Multiseptated Rt ovarian cyst still evident". How can the gynocologist say you don't have an ovarian cyst when clearly you do? Strange. Ovarian cysts can also affect bowel and bladder.
Avatar n tn Hi, All this is troublesome, I know. What did your doctor say? Are they doing any other tests? If you would please give a little more info, maybe it would be easier to answer you. Also, this is the ovarian cancer forum. Please post on the ovarian cyst forum. If you scroll down a little you'll see on the right side there is a link to it. And, if you scroll up a bit, you'll see the Health Pages link where more information is given on cysts, etc.
Avatar f tn If you have cysts on both ovaries than you have even less of a chance. Most times they can see ovarian cancer on an ultrasound. By the time you have symptoms it is progressed enough to see on an ultrasound. Over 98% of ovarian cysts are benign even big ones. My symptoms were anorexia, First bleeding almost every day for two year then no period at all. Then when I stopped having my period I threw up all the time.
Avatar f tn Presence of loculation in the cyst, presence of papillary excrescences which are localized overgrowths of the epithelial lining of a cyst are indirect pointers of malignant ovarian cysts on ultrasound.Endovaginal ultrasound provides more reliable information compared to abdominal ultrasound. It can in few cases do predict about the risk of malignancy if done by an expert ultrasonologist but it can definitely not be confirmed.
Avatar f tn That is actually good news that both are enlarged because it is really rare to have Ovarian cancer in both ovaries at one time. When you google you can read all kinds of inaccurate stuff. Mostly the information is out dated. There have been great improvement in understanding ovaries and treatment in the last 5 years. This is why you have to talk to your doctor. Each case is different. A simple cyst has fluid and at some point ruptures and that is the end of it.

Avatar n tn Hi there. It is possible the pain could be due to cysts. I've never heard of a connection to coffee though. Do see your gyn and have a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. Good luck!
Avatar f tn well, first off you need to see your dr and find out how big it is. I had one rupture a few weeks ago myself and still have 2 on my right ovary. i have to have follow up ultrasound in 5 weeks to see if they are taking care of themselves, otherwise my dr is going to put me on bc to shrink them. You need to find out the size of cysts and what type of ovarian cyst it is. That will all make a difference on how they are taken care of.
Avatar f tn When i was 6 weeks (first appointment) I had a regular ultrasound and didn't see no heart beat. 8 weeks i had another ultrasound there was not much to see so I had a transVaginal ultrasound. I saw something that looked like a heart beat and I also saw another little sack my dr said that I had a pregnancy cyst. He said it usual goes away and it did.....I was really scare During my first dr app.
Avatar m tn You should ask to have an Ultrasound right away to get some answers. You could have Ovarian Cysts which are nothing to fool around with unless they cause no pain....trust me - they rupture and can cause way more pain and possible complications. You also sound like you might have a lot of Fibroids - maybe a lot of lttle ones. Your symptoms sound similar to mine - and that was my problem also at one time, Dozens of little Fibroids with one big one on my left Ovary.
Avatar f tn Yes, I have had many ultrasound, they see follicles, which are the cysts. They can not see my left ovary, in any ultrasound. They say, I may have endometriosis also, but dont want to do a pointless surgery. They have me on birth control for the hormones for three more months and if it doesn't help or it stays the same they do want to do the surgery.
Avatar f tn Bless your heart. I feel like you are talking about me. I just had surgery a week ago for a 7.9 cm complex cyst. Same symptoms as you. You need to be on a pain reliever, they gave me vicodin, and honestly I don't know how you can be on your feet all day without it. I should be getting my biopsy results tomorrow. I am hopeful that it is all benign. You should definetely see an OB/GYN asap.
Avatar n tn Imaging is not exact (MRI may be more so than u/s) so it can be difficult to tell the type of cyst. Some cysts that resolve on their own can appear solid on imaging such as hemorrhagic. This site may be helpful - http://ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm. Let us know what more you find out.
Avatar f tn 13gemini72 is right, endometriosis can cause very heavy periods and bad cramping. Also, cysts, no matter the size can cause pain. It is a wonder how something so small can cause pain, but it can. I'm glad to see that you are going to see your gynecologist. I know 3 weeks seems like forever away (I will have surgery in about 3 weeks), but maybe you could call your pcp and just tell them what your medical record shows and ask them what they think.
Avatar f tn The concern is if they get too large, they can cause the ovary to twist on itself (ovarian torsion) which can cause the ovary to die. However, you have the risk of losing the ovary with surgery too. Hopefully, your gynecologist or any other you would choose would have good cystectomy (cyst removal) skills so you would not have to lose your ovary since that can hinder fertility.
3100626 tn?1341387176 This pain could be ovarian/cyst related, but if you had a recent pelvic ultrasound that found nothing abnormal, then this is good news. Your ovaries will still be ovulating monthly and some women feel that this is more prominent or bothersome after a hysterectomy. Some lower pelvic pain may also could be related to your bowels or bladder or deep pelvic muscles.
Avatar n tn Tell them you think it may be related to your cysts and that you need to see your doctor again. He can give you a transvaginal ultrasound to check on the size of the cysts. You know your body best and any increase in symptoms warrants another doctor visit. That said, most cysts do turn out to be benign. If your doctor didn't let you know your cysts were worrisome after the CT, then that is a good sign.
Avatar f tn have you asked your gyn to explain these findings to you? That is the first thing I would do. It looks like you have small grouping of cysts on your right ovary, follicular, the most common, aggregate measurement means all the cysts combine measure 5.7. Hyperechoic lesion is just how it was read on the ultrasound, meaning the lesion (like a sore or wound) was more dense, not fluid-filled or gas-filled. Make your doctor explain all this to you until you understand...
Avatar f tn Majority of women do experience ovarian cysts and they generally do go away on their own without any damage. Caution that if it is on the larger size then it could rupture or twist in which you will experience extreme pain. If this happens it is an emergent situation and you need to go to the ER. Many women find that they need to get second and third opinions in order to get answers they need from someone they trust.
Avatar f tn Birth-control pills shrink some types of ovarian cysts, presumably you have that type or the doctor would not have prescribed them. I am sorry you are impatient, but it will help to get rid of the cysts if you are trying to conceive, even if it means you have to wait a month or two. I don't know if you cannot ovulate when you have a cyst, but it sure would be a painful thing and probably it does prevent ovulation when a cyst is present.
Avatar m tn My concern is that she recently had a very sharp pain in her lower abdomen which lasted over an hour, and when she was examined by her OBGYN a couple of days later, she requested Tracie to have an ultrasound because she felt some cysts. The ultrasound showed 2 regular fluid filled cysts and 1 solid(complex as she called it) cyst that had ruptured that was full of blood.
Avatar f tn They wantedt to wait and see if they changed in two weeks times so I have a new ultrasound scheduled for next week. i have read alot of posts and seem that ovarian cysts are very common and especially after chemo. If they stay the same can they biopsy my ovary and the cysts before removing the ovary. Or should I just bite bullet and have them take it out? More chemo? What's next.
