can you mix oxycodone and ibuprofen

Hi Sue what is Oxycodone? Do you get it from the doctors? I too have chronic gastritis and it is agony on flare ups. I take Pantoprazole,Gaviscon and I can take Sucralfate. They don,t do much though. Its really awful isn,t it I hope you find relief for your pain too.

I am currently taking percocet as a break through med with morphine sustained release. I didn't have a choice on what I could take for breakthrough medicine. I don't take more than 1950 mg of tylenol per day via the percocet. I think the percocet and the vicodin puts a "cap" on how much a person can take before destroying their liver. My doctor has been very trustworthy of me but always wants me to stay on these combo meds.

Also thanks for the advice about the Percoset. I am taking straight Oxycodone, so I can alternatively use Tylenol or Ibuprofen on top of it as needed, usually 4-6 hours apart. Thanks everyone!

I have been on 30mg oxycontin 2x a day, and 30mg oxycodone 4x a day for severe chronic pain. I have had 2 neck surgeries, because the first fusion was a failure. Now my PCP has knocked me down to 240 10mg oxycodone, because he claims that the CDC will revoke his license if he doesn't go by there guide lines on the amount of opiate allowed per day. Now my severe pain level is a constant 10+ with severe withdrawl. How many others out there is having this problem, because of the CDC?

what type of meds did your pain doc prescribe you. i have a hx of oxycodone addictions so i am fearful as to what they can do for me as far as pain control. any info would be very helpful. thank you in advance.

Oxycodone, I took between 7 to 11 per day the 5 Mg ones. This mental fog is really getting to me and making it very hard to do any thing. Which is not an option. So frustrating. My hubby is getting inpatient with me and I feel we are on the verge of ssplitting up agaim. I try and get something done around the house, may not be much but I at least try. He is expecting me to just get up and do everything like I did before.

You need to put faith whichever combination of medications you are using. Do not mix up drugs or try all. Follow one doctor’s advice and consult the doctor again if not much relief. Check with a physiotherapist and if still in pain, consider undergoing surgery. Hope this helps. Take care.

Taking oxycodone or other meds can make you feel sick initially but can sometimes go away but taking it with food can make a big difference. Feel better.

oxycodone, valium, tylenol (650mg) and ibuprofen (200mg). at the hospital the tylenol and ibuprofen were scheduled meds and i was only given oxycodone and valium when i requested them. any ideas on when i should take each? need to take tylenol every 6 hours. should i take oxy with tylenol, or valium with tylenol? or with ibuprofen (every 4 hours). i dont want to take more than i need to.

THey are both way stronger than codcamol (which is panadol and codeine) and neurofen (which is ibuprofen) Codcamol and neurofen are both avail over the counter at the chemist but you should only be able to get oxycodone or hydrocodone on prescription from a doctor.. Let me know if I have this wrong tho...

Well, you need to get to your dentist ASAP! In the meantime, the ibuprofen will help take the swelling down as well as help with the pain. Also, ice packs are underrated. They really help, both with pain and swelling. Does the oxycodone make you drowsy? Is that why you don't want to take it at work? If that's the case, you could try a half a pill while you're working.

Normal reaction. If you can take a hot shower and/or drink something warm and then get into bed in as relaxed a state as you can get in (considering you just had surgery - which is tough) might just be the push you need to slide into sleep mode. Trying an over the counter sleep aid should help too. Eventually you will sleep...your mind will have to shut down. Might take a couple of days though. But try the above suggestions......good luck. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab. Although they are all narcotics, vicodin and lortab are lesser strength than the oxy's and morphine.

There are many medications you can take. I have had hep c since 1987. I also have RA and degenerative disc disease with 3 herniations in l-spine and 7 herniations in thoracic area. I take methadone for pain. I have tried all the others oxycodone without Tylenol and fentanyl patches etc... All of which I was allowed to take with hep c bit the methadone works best and doesn't mess with my mind. You pain mgmt drs should know what you can take or check with your GI doctor.

Yes the oxys r both the same thing so don't get why he's on two kinds and doses and yes they can affect his kidneys and liver over time. But long use like alcohol.

Your right in that you probably weaned too fast. Your doc should have given you instructions on how to wean. I am an OT and know how painful knee replacements are esp in PT. Use alot of ice if you can. If you are off of the oxycontin and just on the oxycodone that's a great transition in itself. If every 6 hours works for you I would wait a few days and try taking half twice a day then in another week take half each dose.

Headaches are so not fun and it hurts more when you move so not much can be done when you have one. I would be calling your dr and leaving a message to let them know what is going on so they will know and they can call you back to see what can be done. Sorry about your husband I hope he gets better soon. Im the same way you are I have to get very mad at my husband in order for him to go get checked out.

i will be starting the next phase of trtmt with the incivek and my doc did not say anything about stopping any of my meds..Oh i take that back, I did have to stop taking my ibuprofen and that sucked!!!!
