Can you mix ibuprofen and vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Can you mix ibuprofen and vicodin

ibuprofen

Avatar n tn u should not only for the reason that everyday forward puts another day between you and your addiction so i say you keep moving forward, you can not expect to not have any w/ds, and you and you can not use every time you start to have them or you are never going to be clean, theres no magic pill thats going to take your w/ds away, and if you pick up a pill everytime w/ds get rough you are never going to get clean.. .taking pills=not clean....
Avatar n tn Ibuprofen slows bone healing. That's why they gave you Vicodin. I remember taking Vicodin every 6 hours after foot surgery. For me, it was 6 hours on the dot when the pain returned. I'd use ice and try to sleep. Keeping inflammation down is important. There are a lot of nerves in the face, so that's why it would hurt so much.
1148241 tn?1294052796 t Drs but experience counts for something if its what your Dr has told you. What do you guys take? Is Ibuprofen the best over the counter thing to take? Is it "safe enough" ?
Avatar f tn You need the vicodin for the pain because of the abscess and short term usage isn't going hurt you. Ibuprofen can also be taken as long as we keep it within the recommended dosage. Most hepatologists recommend Tylenol for pain as long as we follow the prescribed dosage either on the bottle or what our liver docs prescribe. Those of us with advanced liver disease are allowed at least 2000 mg within a 24 hr period.
1041243 tn?1375230520 but in my personal experience, thats all that vicodin does, too. vicodin makes me violently ill and i found that ibuprofen, tylenol and asprin all worked better than the vicodin...but i talked to my doc first, which is what you should do.
Avatar n tn I was initially prescribed vicodin and my doc switched me to vicoprofen because of post-surgical adema (swelling). He did advise me that they were stronger than what I was initially prescribed. Hope that helps!
Avatar n tn i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation. i have had 2 diagnosises and both times the prognosis was long term chronic pain. i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal. i am worried that the tramadol and ibuprofen could damage my liver. i only take 7.5-750mg vicodin. wouldnt it be better to just take the vicodin again?
6698677 tn?1388419893 We do what we have to do and get through it. I would suggest using Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol if you can because it is an anti-inflammatory as well as a pain reliever and may help your back pain better than Tylenol. Bring a heating pad to use at the hotel and most of all - have fun!!!
Avatar f tn Gatorade is good if you like it. Try and get up and move around as much as you can. That helps our natural endorphins kick in. You both are doing a good thing here by getting clean. This part wont last forever even tho it feels like it right now. Put on some music as that is very theraputic too.
Avatar f tn t gone to the ER I would certainly do so. They will advise you what to take and possibly provide you with a prescription. Good luck. I know how painful a toothache can be. I hope you will soon be able to see your dentist.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen and such tends to give me stomach pain and I've been On ibuprofen for years. Heat helps but just for the 30 sex or so the heat is applied. Other than that nothing.
Avatar n tn I found out through a doctor who is retired that if you take ibuprofen and motrin together that you get the effect of a half gram of codeine. Its almost similiar, I did not believe him, he told me take 1000 mg of ibuprofen and 500 mg of motrin together and bigger than all get out it worked just as well if I took a couple of vicodin. It really does work and its so much cheaper, the walmart brand is the best. Good luck with your teeth....
Avatar f tn The vicodin will make you nauseated. If you can taper off of it. It is very addictive. You may have an infection so hopefully the antibiotic will help soon. I would stay in the Ibupropin and taper off once the pain is down. I find if you don't taper off of a large dose of Ibupropin you get a major headache. Clindamycin can give you problems as it wipes out the gut bacteria. I would take a probiotic with it or eat two yogurts with live bacteria a day.
Avatar f tn Call the Dr. who is doing the procedure and ask what you should do or call the prescribing Dr. I can tell you the two drugs don't mix well together so you really should call.
Avatar f tn Tare up the script while your thinking straight .If you are in allot of pain , you can take ibuprofen , then 2 hrs later take Tylenol and altenate every 2 hrs .
8475475 tn?1403476630 After my c section I was given ibuprofen and oxycodon.
Avatar n tn I'm sure it's fine, especially since you take such a minimal amount. It's not good for everybody, like someone who has had opiate addictions in the past. If you don't fall into that catagory then I'm sure everything is fine. Besides 30 vico's a month is very minimal, vicoprofen is just another name and maker of vicodin. Some doctors hesitate on prescribing certain morphine derivitive drugs for obvious reasons.
541465 tn?1219427886 The clinic should have a card that they can pass out that tells you what medications can put you into withdrawal and what can cause an overdose. I have one at home and I keep it handy. Good luck to you but my opinion would be not to take it.
