893889 tn?1294276977 you can get pregnant with cyst. im 23 and i tried my best not to get pregnant in the past. now that im ready it seem s almost impossible to concieve. my mom always told me never come between life and its courses. just use condoms if anything. because once u try to concieve and supposing it dont happen right away u will be very hurt. and begin to blame urself. so take it easy and condoms as are useful as pills.
Avatar n tn What started initially as a small complex Ovarian Cysts now on scan the Dr. says is getting bigger and has put her on birth control pill. How does one get Ovarian Cysts. Please help.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm very much a 'worrier' so sorry if my questions make your eyes roll :) I'm a 25 year old female with no children who is overweight (5'5, 200lbs). I have a family history of cysts and PCOS but no cancer. When I was about 20, I had a functional ovarian cyst diagnosed via internal ultrasound (not sure how big it was).
Avatar f tn My advice would be to make an appointment with an OB/GYN for a preconception consultation. They can answer your questions about ovarian cancer and help you ttc. It's great to build a good relationship with your OB before pregnancy, and that way if you don't think that is who you want caring for you, you can find a good one before you conceive.
Avatar f tn I am on birth control to help regulate my period (Camila progestin- only) so I can start TTC in the next couple of months. I looked up this pill and it said the pill can cause ovarian cysts. Should I ask to be switched? Thanks for answering!
Avatar f tn well, first off you need to see your dr and find out how big it is. I had one rupture a few weeks ago myself and still have 2 on my right ovary. i have to have follow up ultrasound in 5 weeks to see if they are taking care of themselves, otherwise my dr is going to put me on bc to shrink them. You need to find out the size of cysts and what type of ovarian cyst it is. That will all make a difference on how they are taken care of.
Avatar f tn t need to be on the pill to help prevent ovarian cysts. Well, I have stopped the pill again, about year after my second surgery. I have been feeling a lot of pain again on my right ovary. I am wondering if I have developed another cyst/follicle. It has only been about two weeks after stopping the pill. I am not sure if it is scar tissue that causes the pain, or maybe the pain is due to the fact that I am ovulating again. Or, like I said, maybe I have another cyst.
Avatar n tn ALSO SHOUD I BE FEARFULL OF MORE DERMOID CYSTS TO COME? MINE WERE ALL HAIR FILLED. THE EARLIEST I COULD GET A FOLLOW UP APPT IS IN 2 MORE WKS.
1324051 tn?1275414812 I found out in May that I have two 2 cm cysts on my ovary and a possible ruptured one near my right. I went to the gyno complaining of pain. I was off of the pill at the time, but for the past month I have been on Loestrin. My periods have been a little uncomfortable, so I skipped my sugar pills in the pack and went straight for the active ones in the next pack to suppress my period until I find out what the heck is going on with my body.
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever been on the pill for many years and been diagnosed with pcos WHILE on the pill? And has any developed cysts while on the pill? I've been reading that the pill should prevent women from developing functional cysts, or that it's rare to develop a functional cyst because you shouldn't ovulate while on the pill. I know you can ovulate on the pill, but it shouldn't be a recurring thing.
Avatar f tn The thing is , that ovarian cysts are a normal part of ovulation. If you didn't ovulate, you wouldn't have cysts but you wouldn't have pregnancies either. If you google "Ovarian Cysts 101", it will explain a lot . There is also a lot of information on our "Health Pages" at the top right of this page. I sure wish there were some nutritional answers, but I don't think we're going to find any.. If you find an answer, please share !
1832630 tn?1318056776 Hi again. Well your ultrasound clearly states "Multiseptated Rt ovarian cyst still evident". How can the gynocologist say you don't have an ovarian cyst when clearly you do? Strange. Ovarian cysts can also affect bowel and bladder.
Avatar f tn HiI have been having irregular periods for almost a year and the last 6 months it has got worse and I put weight on. I have periods all the time. I went to see a doc and she recommended having an ultrasound as the last month or 2 I'm constantly bloated, constipation which I've never had till now, constant back ache at the bottom of my back, pressure during sex and really uncomfortable feeling in my left area.
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds like ovarian cyst pain, I'm amazed you put up with it this long. Hasn't your doctor done *anything,* like put you on the pill to try to shrink it? I'd go see him tomorrow effing morning and say you absolutely need to have this dealt with.
Avatar n tn My ob/gyn told me I needed to choose between bc pill and ovarian drilling surgery to reduce the cysts on my ovaries. I chose to start with the pill. Did I make the right choice? I am 37, had 3 mc, 1 DD, and 1 ectopic all conceived on clomid.
388376 tn?1302011418 OHHHHH cysts i LOVE them :P I am also on b/c but not to shrink the cyst to prevent pregnancy after surgery to remove the cyst mine was HUGE though 10 cm.
Avatar f tn This includes endometriomas and functional ovarian cysts. You need to consult your gynaecologist for these two types of cysts. If you are premenopausal and are concerned about recurrent cysts, taking a birth control pill or other hormonal form of birth control may help to prevent ovarian cysts from developing It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I agree with everyone else. I was told that ovarian cancer is extremely rare in younger women - it mostly affects menopausal women. I've had many cysts. I have other issues, but I was never told that the cysts themselves would affect my fertility. The cyst will probably go away on it's own, or they may put on you the birth control pill to make it shrink. I've had cysts as large as 10cm, and did not need surgery to remove them.
Avatar f tn I do have a history of endometriosis and hemorhhagic cyst. My question is can you get ovarian cyst while you are breastfeeding and ha my cycles are not yet back. I am having severe back pain , legs pain ,nausea on and off, fatigue and bloated.
Avatar f tn Same situation as you here. Pain was dreadful but the cyst isn't big. Doctors will do surgery if you have been on the pill for a while (first stage of treatment) and are having severe pain that is affecting your life. I would just make sure that you are clear to your doctor about how bad the pain is and talk to them about your concerns.
Avatar n tn 3 cm i think) so i was put on the pill. 2 months later the cyst leaked and i ended up going ot my Ob the next day. come to find out another cyst had formed on my left ovary. only this cyst is bigger then a golf ball. I was then given the Depo shot to hopefully reduce the size/ get rid of the cyst all together. i am a month and a half into having the shot in my system and i feel horrible. I am often in a lot of pain with constant what feel like period cramps. but worse right where the cyst is.
1893678 tn?1322008313 Most likely, they will start you on the pill so you have a normal cycle and have less of a chance of growing cysts. I have the same problem, and don't have endometriosis. I wouldn't worry until you see your gyno, it sounds like the issue for you will be getting your cysts and hormones under control. Best of luck, keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Birth-control pills shrink some types of ovarian cysts, presumably you have that type or the doctor would not have prescribed them. I am sorry you are impatient, but it will help to get rid of the cysts if you are trying to conceive, even if it means you have to wait a month or two. I don't know if you cannot ovulate when you have a cyst, but it sure would be a painful thing and probably it does prevent ovulation when a cyst is present.
