Avatar f tn I take Zyrtec, Prevacid and Rhinocort Aqua (nasal spray). I hope this helps and you feel better.
Avatar f tn I know it sounds daft but he was told to try and eat a small handful of brazil nuts throughout the day they are a brill form of iron and they did seem to help. Hang in there you are doing really well. I wish you all the best for rest of tx.
351317 tn?1204751871 The 10mg zyrtec is too strong for me so can I cut it in half and take 5mg instead?
Avatar f tn I've had some suggestions to cut the pills in half, but I have capsules, not tablets and they cannot be cut in half. What should I do??
Avatar f tn I realize this may sound strange but I was wondering if any of you have a "pill cutter" at home or do you just cut your pill in half with a knife? I am cutting down on the dose of my beta blocker per my Doctor and I was wondering if I have to purchase a pill cutter or can I just cut it with a knife or razor? I am a little anxious because you aren't supposed to "crush or chew" these pills and I'm afraid that if I cut it.......perhaps it will be crumbly.
Avatar f tn the EBV testing is confusing. Nobody can really interpret the results and so it complicates things for physicians. Do you have any other symptoms other than fatigue ? Here's information about EBV testing : http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/ebv.
1059594 tn?1261323966 Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? Avatar n tn Hey there...you cannot cut the dose in half....i would call your doctor and see if he/she can change your meds or if it's ok to stop..Levaquin can be given in 250, 500 & 750 mg doses...I was on Levaquin earlier this year for uti and had horrible side effects, so i just stopped taking the meds...I had horrible heart pounding, swollen knees and it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me with a baseball bat...
Avatar f tn Yes its ok to cut it in half. It should have a little place on the pill where to cut it. If you want to be absolutely sure you can always ask your pharmacist.
2078979 tn?1332206668 My doctor told me that zyrtec and claritin are ok but not allegra. If you perfer natural remedies, chamomile tea, vapor rub, hot chicken broth with a little cheyenne, lots of fruits and veggies-especially vitamin c. Netti pots work great for sinus problems, just make sure to use distilled water.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the advice. It's good to know i'm not alone. Hopefully you won't mind if i do write to you for support.
Avatar f tn I didn't. I take my Zoloft in the am and loratadine in the pm. but I dont see why you can't take them at the same time. there's hardly or no interaction at all.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol 25 mg. Does it make a difference in what I'm taking, wether I can cut in half or not? The PA knows what I am taking and he told me just to cut it.
Avatar f tn I wonder if you were having a reaction to the fillers in levo. I would stay on the Allegra for a little while until you can figure out what you are reacting to. What did the allergist say to you? Armour has some fillers in it as well and is a different med with both t4 and t3 in it. The most hypo-allergenic thyroid med would be wes-throid. It has hardly any fillers at all. Just some tidbits for you.
Avatar n tn With one pill a day I assume that they are extended release pills and would definitely not mess with them!
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn I cant afford anything other than what the tribe will pay for, and at this point they have done alot of cut backs.I dont know how much longer I can handle these hives. I take zantac, allegra and dilantin daily.please help me!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn Both Allegra and Zyrtec are 24 hour medications in my area. I have known several people who took 3 Zyrtec in one day, and my allergist says that you can't really OD on antihistimines. You should be sure to drink PLENTY of water and watch for signs of constipation and dehydration. You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking.
Avatar n tn have you tried claritin or better yet asked a doctor about Allegra that medicine is AWESOME for allergies
Avatar f tn Every time I go to the doctor, I get prescribed antibiotics which don't help. It comes right back soon after or doesn't go away in the first place. Or I get prescribed mucinex, which makes me irritable, unable to sleep properly, and have horrific nightmares or allegra, which gives me hives. I have tried everything possible over the counter, but nothing works. My left ear is stopped up too now as well. I have used the neti pots and sinus rinses too.
Avatar m tn I can vouch for the taste -- my psychiatrist has me dividing doses, which requires me to cut them in half. These pills are usually so small that's hard to do and pill cutters don't work because they're so small, so sometimes I get a taste of some crumbs. Yuck!
Avatar f tn my suggestion is to taper off of it which would really help with many of your symptoms. Also, I assume you have a prescription for the Allegra as well, but you might want to be careful what you read on forums on the internet. I could type in 'cheeseburgers and paxil withdrawal" and probably get a taper schedule to follow. My point is, and this is just my opinion, that you should definitely work through this with your doctor. Keep us posted!
