I have been keeping the dogs away from his cage, but other than that I am not sure what else I can do and I feel terrible as he is loved so dearly.

Avatar f tn org/forums/PTSD---Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder/show/316. This said, I think it important that you tell your parents what is going on and see if you can get in to see a therapist about it so you can sort out the dreams and hopefully resolve it. Take care. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Avatar f tn I moved to another state again a few years later and finally got treatment EMDR for post traumatic stress disorder. I would say that this helped me very much. I felt after treatment that it was just faded memories of the past. Also, as much as I tried prior to treatment just EMDR I never used drugs or hardly drank, I tried to do a lot of self healing by thoughts and using yoga.
2104110 tn?1358318243 you might even have post dramatic stress disorder. Which can occur after a traumatic event..or even pp depression. Big cuddles..I'd go talk to.
5210218 tn?1365167402 t dounbt that you have some depression issues but to me it sounds more like PTS (post traumatic stress), or it may even be PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I think the best thing you can do is try to continue with the counseling. Depression works a little differently than PTSD. The symptoms you are describing with the anger and fear sound a lot like PTSD.
Avatar f tn Post-traumatic stress disorder not Post traumatic shock disorder. I am also saddened by fact that I have not found support to have this forum as it seems so many have problems with PTSD.
Avatar m tn The flash backs are more than likely not bipolar, that part sounds more like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have that too. It really sux to relive things you would rather forget. It usually is something that was very traumatic to you. Maybe you should try to find a clinic that charges according to your income. If it is a medical clinic they can probably refer you to a psychiatrist. Only a doctor can diagnose you and get you the help you need.
Avatar f tn Sounds like post-traumatic stress disorder with flashbacks of the traumatic episode being the leading the symptom. You should seek out a medical professional and get the help needed for it.
Avatar f tn Yes, for some it does go away. For others it is episodic. For some it doesn't. Getting the right med can take some time. Some depression is medication resistant. In other words, it comes in all sizes and colors, basically, depending on the individual. If you want to cure it, you have to do that in therapy. Medication only deals with symptoms. I would say, if you're getting bad results, get a different psychiatrist. As with any human, some are better at what they do than others.
Avatar f tn I saw a therapist a couple years ago and she diagnosed me with anxiety, panic disorder and post traumatic stress disorder but didn't put me on any meds. I was able to deal with it for the first year but it seems to be getting worse now!! What do I do?
Avatar f tn Another diagnosis that you may like to consider is borderline personality disorder. Mood swings can be a part of this disorder as the mood tends to be quite reactive. Also you can feel fine one moment then lousy the next. This ties in more with pstd and even complex-ptsd. They may be worth investigating too. I guess out of all this the main thing is to treat the symptoms you have.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the suggestion. Post traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. We already offer an anxiety/panic tracker. Does this not meet your needs? If not, we can add or modify the tracker to better meet your needs. Please tell us what does or does not work for you.
Avatar n tn There may be several causes for it, which include excessive worry, stress, fear, anxiety, pain, grief, aging, mental disorders like depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. You should seek medical help (sleep specialist) in helping find out if there is any medical cause for excessive sleepiness. In the mean time, your son should be careful while on work that could endanger him or others around him.
