Common Questions and Answers about Can metrogel be used for acne

metrogel

Avatar f tn I have been on two rounds of accutane in my life. The last time was when I was 20. I have been acne free for years (I feel lucky for that). However my old dermatologist noticed I had fairly dry skin...that was about 4 years ago. He told me to use Hydracortisone on my face for redness! I should have KNOWN that was a mistake!! I used the Hydracortisone for 3 years. I read online that it can cause problems as you age, thin skin, etc. I stopped using it right away.
Avatar f tn Continue with the Yaz. This is a good pill for acne-prone skin as it is not based on testosterone like some others. It will take about 3 months until it's effect is visible. An excellent product is Rosaliac micellar gel by La Roche-Posay which is for skin prone to redness. Metrogel is quite strong. It is normal to have an initial outbreak but if your skin does not start to improve or you feel you are having a bad reaction, speek to your doctor about changing products.
Avatar f tn I am a 24 year old female. At the age of 12 I started getting a red discoloration on my cheeks, slightly above my eyebrows, and a little on my chin which was slightly flaky. I do have dandruff in my hair. I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis by my dermatologist at the age of 21. Not knowing any better when I was younger I tried everything over the counter for acne, but I didn't have acne. I definitely do not have rosacea because I never got pustules.
Avatar f tn Its maybe $80 for the system. Ive used it and my 9 yr old uses it daily. Its none allergenic and it was developed by dermatologists.
Avatar f tn t want to worry you but you need to be careful with prolonged use of doxycycline. My daughter was on that for 1 year for acne. Her copper level is 3 times higher then what is acceptable. Which in turn made her acne worse. high levels of copper will cause skin problems. I am now working on a liver cleanse and an all natural way to pull the copper out of her body.
Avatar f tn You may be having sensitive skin but if the redness persists for a long time, then prerosacea needs to be ruled out. In this, individuals generally come to the dermatologist for acne treatment and exhibit flushing and blushing episodes that last longer than normal. The prolonged redness usually appears over the cheeks, chin, nose or forehead.

Avatar f tn You shouldn't put anything into your vagina like that. It's going to promote growth of ANY bacteria that can use that for a food source, which may or may not include your good bacteria, which could cause an imbalance of your normal vaginal flora. Also, don't put hydrogen peroxide up there or wash with soap. Go see a doctor to treat it and ask if there is anything you can do to prevent it from coming back. Yogurt should only be used to eat.
Avatar f tn Also an update, my eye seems to be getting better however I still dont know how long to use it for. Also, can metrogel cause blackheads at all? Or aloe? Seems I have a few black heads where I apply the metrogel.

Avatar m tn They can be very bad for the face and even end up making things worse with a condition called steroid rosacea. Even OTC Hydrocortisone can potentially caused this. So only use these topicals under the direct supervision of a derm and in fact some derms won't use them at all. Personally, I will use a topical steroid VERY occasionally to bring down a flare. Maybe for a day or two but then swtich right back to the Elidel or Sodium or Metrogel or some combo.
Avatar f tn I had the same infection twice during the beginning of my pregnancy its normal and I used metrogel the two times for 5 nights vaginally .
Avatar f tn I have been looking on the internet and I have found doxy is prescribed mostly for acne. So can it also be used for folliculitis? My situation is I took doxy for 11 days and then stopped for 3 days because it seemed to get a lot worse. My pharmacist convined me to go back on it because it takes a while to workand it gets worse before it gets better. Been on it for 24 days again now and it is still pretty bad, not as bad as when I first took it. Is this normal? How long will it take to clear up?
Avatar f tn An STD panel was run and everything was negative except for HSV1. I did not have a UTI. I used Metrogel vaginally once a day for 7 days. The burning subsided. About a week later I developed bilateral inner thigh pain 1/2 way between my groin and knee. That pain then turned into a strong burning sensation. My legs were hot to the touch, but there was no visible rash. I then started having pain when sitting down.

Avatar m tn nt hurt or itch, but the fact that they all appeared all of a sudden really concerned me. I looked it up and found that it could be only acne or folliculitis, but there are a few things that worry me: - I did have unprotected oral sex (6 months ago, no contact since) - I did have cold symptoms the days before and while it happened, but only cold symptoms, no fever.
Avatar f tn Most people I know like the raw soap as it can be used for many skin conditions and also as a shampoo bar.
