can i take zantac with protonix

I stopped taking the pills cause it said that prolonged magnesium deficiency can cause serious heart problems. Since then I take Zantac, it does next to nothing even though I take 4 maximum strengths a day, and I pop tums all day, but the heart palpitations have gone away. Not really sure what my next move is going to be. Maybe after 6 months of this I can go back to the protonx for a while.

No but my doctors have told me to only take either tums or zantac. I take Zantac now because it works fast and helps throughout the day and night.

When I take the Zantac I would say my chest symptoms are 90% better, but the Protonix is best for me. With that said, my doctor said if I can manage on the Zantac either once or twice a day to do that, since Zantac has less side effects. Chewing gum during the day helps me a lot too. No stress, but a year ago when this started my whole family did get a cold, and this is when I thought it was asthma, but it wasn't.

Zantac didn't work with my first pregnancy so my doctor prescribed protonix. This time around Zantac is working so far. I also try not to eat at least 2 hours before bed and sleep on 3 pillows. With my first pregnancy I put books under the legs if the head of my bed it got so bad. Good luck!

I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!! This is starting to seriously interfere with my life, and work. I can't do much when I get stomach pains. Why does the zegerid not work sometimes? And how do i get rid of this terrible heartburn? and why do i have to keep taking it if there's nothing specifically wrong with me?

the cardiologist says everything looked great--perfect stress tests and excellent blood work so he says go back to gastro doctor which I did..I am on Protonix and Zantac again but feel even worse...not sure where to turn...do I have something terrible which can't be diagnosed---what should I do next???

Does anyone know if this is dangerous for anyone with my issues to take this medication? I am on Carafate 2 x daily, Protonix 2x daily, and a Zantac 1 at bedtime, from my gastroenterologist. I welcome any help. Thank you.

Hello, I have been taking Riopan and it has worked great for me. I really love riopan i have no more heartburn when i take it.

then Zantac.. then Zantac with tums. All gave temporary relief. I was just prescribed Protonix by my OB and No More Heartburn!!!! Try Zantac 150 mg over the counter first.

helps a lil without it pain is unbearable. i had a combo thet work but dr changed it. i would take 40mg of protonix then 150mg zantac at lunch and 1 at dinner pain was at min. pain seems near sternum on either side near chest wall. all the way up into neck. most times its just on right side. also with pain comes anxiety and dread. its effecting my entire life with my family my moods and my job. any other opinions on where i should go from here? im not a sickly person and this is driving me mad.

Tums I don't go any where without them

I take protonix now because my heartburn/reflux was so bad. It is like the Cadillac of reflux meds and I love it. I tried tums and pepcid but they didn't work for me but try everything that is safe and hopefully somethings works for you good luck.

Not tired but some dizzy doesnt last long. I have GERD. I use to take nexium, then protonix then zantac. Had rnuclear stress test done was positive negative, had chest pain went to er had a cardiac catherization done was clear. I got worried scared took xanax for a few days been off all meds for two weeks now pulse last night 41. I walk around its 54 60s 70s sit down 54 48. I this the meds gave me irregular heart will it go back to normal..?Do i need the pace maker?

Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.

I was eating pizza and suddenly thought I was dying due to the pizza not wanting to go down. Stupidly I tried treating this switching back to prilosec otc myself. It helped for awhile. I had another bad attack with grilled chicken a couple of weeks ago and was forced to go to my dr. He currently has me on protonix which is not helping.

My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain! Will be on this regimen for 30 days and then slowly cut back dosage to maintenance level of 40mg once a day every other day.

You can take it at night and take tums when you have a flare up that's what i do.

However when i stopped before i had horrendous heartburn i was so miserable i was prescribed zantac but that didnt work. I am also prescribed lorezapam 0.5mg but have only been taking a half a day. I know thats VERY BAD TO USE. I dont have any problem with quitting that just have to find ways to calm my anxiety. But my omperazole i am. Has anyone stopped or took omperazole pregnant?

I take a prescription called Zantac as well. 150mg and it's my bff! Can be taken twice daily. Ask your Dr about it. It's safe for baby.

I had very painful heartburn about a month ago and my doctor told me to Take zantac they have the 75mg and the 150mg i took the 75mg twice a day and it helped

ve been down your road for years, and my arthritis and joint pains, tingling fingers, soft tissue aches keep waking me up and I can hardly walksome days. Take painkillers and up comes the reflux and all the other crap. Can't win...I'm now 66 and can tell you that the 'golden years' are here at last, and they can kiss my a...se! My doc just prescribed me heartburn med Protonix...it is amazing ! I was having the same issues with thinking if I was taking to many tums- the heartburn was KILLING ME !!! Just ask your doc... my doc told me if this med didn't relieve my heartburn that there was another med she could prescribe. ..but the Protonix has been great. Take it once daily and I'm good to go !

i have been having pain in the epigastric and under the right rib cage. i've also been having terrible heartburn, nausea and vomiting for about the past month. My liver enzymes are elevated, an ultrasound came back negative for gall stones. My HIDA scan showed an EF of 96%. Is there anything i can do to stop the pain and nausea. It happens every time i eat and it doesn't matter what i eat either i've changed my diet to low fat small meals but the pain is still there.
