I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol. I take metformin for the diabetes and simvastatin for the cholesterol. Recently, (just the last few days), my ears have steadily grown in "fullness". It happens mainly at night when I lay down to sleep. Most times I just fall asleep and wake up fine. But tonight, when the fullness came on, I started feeling dizzy while laying down and that started a litlle anxiety episode and here it is 3+ hours later.

t know what the price differences are for smaller dose pills but assuming the worse that they are higher in price, and that the Dr wants me to take 1/2 the dose, would cutting the pills in half have the same effect as getting 20mg pills?

He recommended that I get a calcium score study to measure the calcification in my aorta and carotid artery, My calcium score test was low for my age and he believed that if I have a low calcium score I should stop taking meds for cholesterol. i think the the claims on liver damage have been made because drug makers knew about the antiviral effects of statins and to avoid their use so thatthey can sell the more expensive antivirals until now there is only a study on decompensated cirrhosis (end stage) with portal hypertension and simvastatin and all improved liver function, here is the link.

t available at my followup BP appointment yesterday, but today, I cut my atenolol down to 25 mg/day--which is what I took when I was initially diagnosed way back in the early 1980s. Today, taking my pulse at different times of the day and having taken only 25 mg of atenolol, my heart rate is between 48 and 50 beats per minute. Can bradycardia occur this quickly??? How long have u been on simvastatin? The dose can be increased to 80mg if necessary. cpk is an emzyme found in both skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle. If it was normal then u do not have rhabdomylosis, which is the side effect of simvastatin which your doctor was looking for. He has done the correct test and the result was negative. Return to doctor for further investigation of these muscle aches.

I dont think so and just wanted to pose the question to the experts on here. When I get up in the morning, I am bloated pretty much all day when I stand up or walk.
