However, I think the switch was too late. I spent the whole day in the ER with horrible abdomenal pain. I thought I had hurt my liver because I still have a bad taste in my mouth. Turns out it's just acid reflux! The doctor told me to take OTC pepcid just like you guys said too. I feel so much better and relieved.

By taking the oxycodone, you can take either Tylenol or Advil along with it, but you can take it with, say, every OTHER dose so that you don't exceed the toxic level every day. You will end up with liver problems if you take large amounts of acetominophen and that will be more dangerous to you than larger doses of opiate. Once a person becomes opiate-tolerant, they can tolerate quite a high dose of opiates safely, it's the acetominophen that will hurt them before the opiate does.

Not so much about an addiction problem I have but more about some concerns. I've been on some pain meds for a back problem for a while now, so I do have some tolerance, but today was a particularly bad day after recovering from surgery. I'm on zoloft and I sometimes take my moms vicodin/percocet for pain and I'm just wondering is it safe to take these combinations together? Basically: Zoloft+Vicodin= safe? Zoloft+Percocet= safe? Will the Vicodin or Percocet decrease the effects of the Zoloft? OR can it cause permanent brain damage? I took 2 Vicodin's a couple days ago and then took 1 Zoloft pill an hour later and I started to feel weird/loopy. Could I have caused permanent brain damage?

s I have been taking some small doses of vicodin for the last 7 days to keep myself from going completely off the deep end although there have been many many times where I thought I was going to absolutly lose it, I have been through this once before my main issue with detox is anxiety is by far is my worst symptom I can deal with the lack of sleep, and all the other terrible symptoms but the anxiety makes me crazy, if I only take smal doses of vicodin for the first 10-12 days (max 3 5mg pills)

My pain management doctor recently switched me to hydrocodone 10-500 due to pharmacy crack downs and I am itching like crazy and having bad nightmares and don't sleep well and grind my teeth bad. I would go with the oxycodone (percocet) over the hydrocodone (vicodin), because it's possible to get the oxycodone in it's pure form in a pill without the tylenol in it. The -cet suffix on the percocet is what denotes the acetominophen or Tylenol. In the generic form, it would give the mg strength of the pill (ie, 5/500) and then say APAP on the label.

Will a urine test know what class 2 schedule drugs are being taken whether an oxy or vicodin? I have a script for 10 mg vicodin but ran out and friend let ke take a 5mg oxy for my pain till script coupd be refilled...i then took a urine test..both meds re a class 2 schedule so will the urine test know the difference?

are just trademarked names for the generics (hydrocodone and oxycodone)...also, those opiates can be combined with other analgesics instead of tylenol....example, "Percodan" is oxycodone with aspirin. Sorry...hope I didn't confuse you...but while the drugs are very similar, and both strong opiates, there are a lot of differences, which people do not always realize.

Hi, I have been on Vicodin 5/500mg for 6 years. It first started with my knee surgery and I have been getting them refilled ever since. The past two months, I have been sneaking oxycodone from my dad's house. So I have been taking Oxycodone and vicodin probably 2 vicodin a day and about 4 oxycodone. I cant get anymore oxycodone from my dad, he has cancer and really needs the medicine.

I am currently taking percocet as a break through med with morphine sustained release. I didn't have a choice on what I could take for breakthrough medicine. I don't take more than 1950 mg of tylenol per day via the percocet. I think the percocet and the vicodin puts a "cap" on how much a person can take before destroying their liver. My doctor has been very trustworthy of me but always wants me to stay on these combo meds.

Hearing about the withdrawals from it sort of made me afraid. Right now I take the Fentanyl patch 75 mcg every 48 hours along with 30 to 45 mg. oxycodone every four hours for breakthrough pain. I also use a special compounding lotion and I have lidoderm patches. In addition, I take Naprosyn or Advil as well as some vitamins. This combination seems to work the best for me, though I am still having some serious fibro pain.

Because of my addictive personality, there is no drug that I can take and stick to the right dosages. People with addictive personalities fall down easier than others. At least…that’s the way I am. Are you that way too? I would stay away from them if I were you. Nothing but bad news…all the way round!
