i have had depression for about 8 years now, i was on lexapro for a long time and it helped my depression for the most part but i think it wore off because it just didnt work anymore, i was put on wellbutrin a month ago, and since being on it i have felt so angry and irritable i literally lay in bed and cry or just be mad i want nothing to do with anyone and its just not a good thing so obviously i need to come off this, any ideas if this is something that is normal or maybe its just me coming o

You should be sure to talk to your doctor so that you can continue taking the lexapro at a very small those every other day for a week, then every third day for the last week before you stop. You can continue with the wellbutrin and that should take care your withdrawal symptoms. If you just continue as you are or you may have the withdrawal symptoms for another week or 10 days.

I did not take Prozac, however I have been on Zoloft with minimal side effects. I have read that wellbutrin is safe to take during pregnancy and can cause weight loss (I am talking weight loss before pregnancy), so if it works as an antihistamine as well, it might be perfect for me. Thoughts??

m brand new to depression medication and just wondering what folks think about the combination of Lexapro and Wellbutrin. A lot of folks I know had bad problems with Wellbutrin, but really like Lexapro and right now I'm kinda just trying to power through side effects.

I had the same symptoms on lexapro. People w/ bipolar can actually respond opposite to some depression meds and it can even send them into a manic state - that's how my pdoc found my bipolar! I don't have any experience with wellbutrin, but I know that mood stabilizers were the only thing that ever helped me personally.

Its being recommended for me to change from Lexapro to Wellbutrin due to attempting to treat symptons of ADD but my Psy says its not ADD. With the Holidays coming and My mom showing up for them, I dont want to be tapering off Lexapro while she is here for 3 weeks. I'm 30 now and if I only work out three days a week (and that's fairly intensely), I don't lose weight either. In my 20's, I could eat and eat and never hit the gym and had a nice figure. Also, have you had your thyroid checked? An underactive thyroid can cause weight gain and make it difficult to lose weight.

Can I take L-Tyrosine if I have to take 10mg of Lexapro and 300mg of Wellbutrin? I am also on Avacor (a mixture between norvasc and benicar) for high blood pressure. I have OCD and have to take these meds.

As per my Dr. I started with Lexapro. Absolutely loved it but had sexual side effects and weight gain. Next Wellbutrin, did nothing for me. Next Effexor AND Wellbutrin. Slept 3 days straight on Effexor so had to go off of it. Now Celexa and Wellbutrin. Only day 4 but this one is giving me insomnia. Too soon to know if that will wear off and if it's working. My question is, my Dr knows I am concerned about not gaining more weight.

So my doctor supplemented me with 100 mg of wellbutrin. Well, so far I really like the wellbutrin. It gives a boost of energy in the morning, and I feel my sex drive coming back. However, I feel like it's a little ridiculous for me to be taking one drug to counteract another. Anyone else experience this?

Hello, I just switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin. I was originally taking lexapro for anxiety which I have had for the past 10 or so years. After my daughter was born, I was then taking it for both anxiety and depression. I normally am not a depressed person. Now I switched to Wellbutrin because of the sexual side effects of Lexapro. My concern is that I have felt really dopy the last couple of weeks.

I can say that I was on lexapro and it worked well for my anxiety. It gave me one side effect which was having a difficult time orgasming.

I have had some severe scary mood swings that I can trace to the Wellbutrin it seems. I think I did better on Zoloft but I hated the weight gain. I'd be resistant to go back on it, especially since I've started to lose weight. Anyway, if my psych decides to throw out everything, what do you think may be tried next? I need to take something that will allow me to function at my job as an RN.

They helped for a little while, but lexapro made me extremely tired. I came down on both lexapro and wellbutrin about a month and a half ago and have been on prozac for the past week. For the past month i have been having horrible headaches on the left side of my head. For about the past two weeks or so i have had some pain on the right side as well. With these headaches i have a lot of naseau, no vomitting though. I have been gagging for the past 4 months. Its pretty weird.

I've been on Wellbutrin for years but it's not working like it once did. My dr added Lexapro 10mg to take with it. It's only been 2 days but my head hurts and I feel weird and a little hyper but Iits been improving my mood. Has anyone else struggled with side effects like mine or should I call my doctor. How long do you think till I get use to them. Maybe I can cut them in half.

I plan to discuss this with my Dr. tomorrow. Also, just to clarify, I have only stopped the Wellbutrin. I plan to continue with the Lexapro for a bit longer.

I take ten mg of Lexapro and 1 mg of Klonopin every night. I am sometimes still tired throughtout the day, but fighting the fatigue is worth it for me. I am older and married so taking my meds by ten or so and going to bed by 11:00 isn't really a problem. I have tried Wellbutrin with this mix because the Klonopin wasn't working as well. I have been taking Klonopin for 3 or 4 years. I couldn't form a sentence in my mind after two weeks on Wellbutrin.

My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks? If the topamax does the trick, why add the wellbutrin too? Why not wait and give the topamax a chance first? Wellbutrin is commonly paired with an SSRI such as Lexapro, though usually it's done to decrease the side effects of weight gain and sexual problems. If you're an anxiety sufferer as well, wellbutrin is perhaps the most stimulating of all antidepressants, so again, if you need Xanax, this might not be a first choice for you.

Hi, For years I've been on 20 mg Lexapro. I never had ED, but it often took me a long time to climax during sex. My doctor and I decided to try switching to Wellbutrin (mostly because we thought it might help improve motivation). I'm still in the process of switching over -- cutdown from 20mg Lexapro to 10mg, and I'm now on 200mg Wellbutrin taken twice a day (400 mg total). The depression symptoms are handled fine and I think there is increased motivation.

I was on 20mg Lexapro and 300mg Welbutrin for 3 years and I did a "fast-taper" off of Lexapro and Welbutrin (on my own and NOT advised) and had severe dizziness and "shocks/zaps".But, I've been taking a multi-vitamin for women, B12, and potassium (all in tablet form) along with lots of water (at least 32oz/day) for 3 weeks now and my symptoms have eased up a LOT. I would advise starting a tapering off schedule WITH your doctor.
